Howie Mandel said his wife, Terry, fell and seriously injured her face during a Las Vegas hotel stay in February 2024. He recounted the incident publicly in June, describing how he woke to find her face down and bleeding, then got emergency help. Mandel later clarified that she had taken gummies and was not drunk.
What happened to Terry Mandel in Las Vegas?
On June 17, 2024, Mandel described the fall during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark. He said that during a Las Vegas trip in February, Terry got up at night, struck the room’s wainscoting and fell, breaking her cheek. He woke after hearing her fall and found her face down with blood around her head. The injury was severe enough, he said, that “you could actually see her skull.” The Los Angeles Times reported Mandel’s account.
How did Mandel get help?
Mandel said he put Terry on the bed and tried to help while she asked for ice. He used towels and cold soda cans, then called the hotel front desk for emergency assistance and took her to a hospital. The Los Angeles Times noted that Mandel did not say whether Terry stayed in the hospital overnight.
Was Terry Mandel drunk?
Mandel’s first account used the word “tipsy.” The next day, on TMZ Live, he clarified that Terry was not drunk and said she had taken gummies: “She wasn’t drunk,” and, “I’m gonna tell you the truth — she took gummies.” This was Mandel’s explanation, as reported by the Los Angeles Times and TMZ; it was not presented as an independent medical finding. TMZ identified the hotel as Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

Did Terry Mandel recover?
Follow-up coverage said Terry was stitched up and had recovered. Mandel said she was “absolutely perfect,” adding, “There is not a scar,” and, “She is beautiful.” The recovery update was reported by the Los Angeles Times.
