To stream every 2027 men’s March Madness Sweet 16 game without cable, choose either a live-TV streaming service that carries CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV, or combine Paramount+ for CBS games with HBO Max for games on TBS, TNT, and truTV. An antenna can replace the CBS portion in some locations, but it cannot receive the Turner networks.
The 2027 NCAA Division I men’s tournament is scheduled to begin March 16, 2027. The Sweet 16 is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 25 and 26, while the regional round continues through March 28 with the Elite Eight. As of August 12, 2026, the matchups, tip times, and individual network assignments have not yet been published.
The short answer: choose between two streaming setups
The men’s NCAA tournament is not carried by one channel. Under the current rights arrangement, the 2027 championship’s 75 games are scheduled across CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV. The NCAA’s current championship rights information identifies CBS Sports and TNT Sports as the broadcast partners through 2032.
That creates two practical ways to watch the Sweet 16 online:

The official NCAA Ways to Watch page identifies Paramount+ as the streaming destination for CBS games and HBO Max as the destination for TBS, TNT, and truTV games. It also points viewers to NCAA March Madness Live, where access can require a qualifying TV-provider login.
Important: Do not assume that a CBS-only subscription will show every Sweet 16 game. Do not assume that a single antenna will show the tournament. The exact 2027 game-to-network assignments and commercial terms should be checked again when the bracket and broadcast schedule are released.
When is the 2027 men’s Sweet 16?
The 2027 men’s NCAA tournament begins on March 16, 2027. The Sweet 16—the regional semifinal round—is scheduled for:
- Thursday, March 25, 2027
- Friday, March 26, 2027

Which networks carry the Sweet 16?
| Network | How to stream it | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| CBS | Paramount+, a qualifying live-TV streaming service, or an antenna for a local CBS affiliate | Local CBS availability and the eventual 2027 game assignment |
| TBS | HBO Max or a qualifying live-TV streaming service | Current plan eligibility and the eventual 2027 game assignment |
| TNT | HBO Max or a qualifying live-TV streaming service | Current plan eligibility and the eventual 2027 game assignment |
| truTV | HBO Max or a qualifying live-TV streaming service | Current plan eligibility and the eventual 2027 game assignment |
Because the assignments are not yet available, it is too early to say which Sweet 16 matchup will appear on CBS, TBS, TNT, or truTV. Plan by network coverage rather than by a presumed game schedule.
Best ways to watch March Madness without cable
1. Best for complete coverage with one login: live-TV streaming
A live-TV replacement is generally the least complicated choice if you want CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV in one service and one interface. Current official provider information identifies several possibilities, but availability and package names can change before March 2027.
| Service | Relevant network coverage | Key limitation or check |
|---|---|---|
| Hulu + Live TV | Hulu’s college-basketball guide says it carries CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV | Local-channel availability varies by market; check your ZIP code |
| DIRECTV STREAM | DIRECTV advertises March Madness access across CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV and currently promotes a MySports package containing the relevant channels | Confirm package eligibility and local CBS availability for your ZIP code |
| YouTube TV | Broad live-TV coverage with local CBS availability in supported markets | Check the current lineup and package structure before the 2027 tournament |
| Sling TV | Potentially useful for TBS, TNT, and truTV | CBS is market-dependent and may require an antenna or another authenticated option; it is not automatically a complete solution |
See Hulu’s college-basketball viewing guide, DIRECTV’s March Madness information, and YouTube TV’s official channel information for current provider details. These pages are more useful than an old price comparison because local channel carriage, package names, promotions, and eligibility can change.
2. Best standalone combination: Paramount+ plus HBO Max
If you do not want a traditional live-TV bundle, the official standalone split is straightforward:
- Paramount+: the relevant standalone destination for games carried by CBS.
- HBO Max: the relevant standalone destination for games carried by TBS, TNT, and truTV.
The combination may be the simplest complete streaming arrangement for viewers who do not need a broader cable replacement. However, it is still two subscriptions, and neither service alone covers every network in the men’s tournament package. Recheck the exact plan names, prices, promotions, blackouts, and sports access close to March 2027.

- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, so you can switch from streaming to gaming with ease. Plus, it’s designed to stay hidden behind your TV, keeping wires neatly out of sight
3. Lowest-cost supplement: an antenna for CBS
An antenna can provide free over-the-air access to a local CBS affiliate, which may let you watch CBS-carried Sweet 16 games without paying for a CBS streaming subscription. It is a supplement—not a complete March Madness solution.
Before buying an indoor HDTV antenna, check the FCC’s digital television reception maps. Reception depends on distance from the transmitter, terrain, walls, windows, building materials, and antenna placement. An antenna does not receive TBS, TNT, or truTV, so you would still need HBO Max, a live-TV streaming service, or another authorized route for those games.

4. If you already have pay-TV credentials: NCAA March Madness Live
NCAA March Madness Live can be a convenient official destination, especially for viewers whose television provider already includes the necessary channels. Depending on the game and access rules, you may need to sign in with qualifying TV-provider credentials. It should not be treated as a guaranteed free replacement for every subscription or TV package.
Use the official NCAA viewing page rather than an unofficial mirror or social-media broadcast. The NCAA’s network-by-network access guidance is at ncaa.com/march-madness-live/ways-to-watch.
Which option fits you?
- You want one app and all four networks: start with a live-TV streaming service, then verify CBS in your ZIP code.
- You want standalone streaming and do not need other cable channels: compare Paramount+ and HBO Max as a two-service combination.
- You only need CBS games: Paramount+ or a local antenna may be enough, depending on the official 2027 access rules and your location.
- You already subscribe to a TV provider: try NCAA March Madness Live with your provider login, or use the provider’s official apps.
- You are considering Sling TV to save money: verify CBS first. TBS, TNT, and truTV coverage alone does not guarantee every Sweet 16 game.
- Your television lacks the required apps: use a compatible streaming media player, but confirm compatibility with the current app and service requirements before purchase.
Setup checklist before tipoff
- Check your ZIP code: confirm that your selected live-TV service carries your local CBS affiliate. National network claims do not guarantee local availability.
- Map the networks: make sure your setup covers CBS and all three Turner networks—TBS, TNT, and truTV.
- Confirm the app and device: check whether your TV, streaming stick, game console, phone, tablet, or web browser supports the official service app.
- Install official apps: download the app from the device’s approved app store. Avoid sites that promise unauthorized free broadcasts.
- Test credentials: if you plan to use NCAA March Madness Live, sign in before game day and keep your qualifying TV-provider credentials available.
- Scan for antenna channels: if you use an antenna, run the television’s channel scan and try different placements, preferably near a window and away from large obstructions.
- Recheck the schedule: once the bracket, tip times, and network assignments are announced, confirm the destination for each game you want to watch.
Troubleshooting common problems
“The game is not showing in my CBS app”
First confirm that the game is actually assigned to CBS. A Paramount+ subscription is not a substitute for the TBS, TNT, or truTV portion of the package. If it is a CBS game, check whether your plan includes live CBS access and whether local CBS availability or regional rules apply.
“My live-TV service has TBS but not CBS”
This is usually a local-affiliate or package issue. Check the provider’s ZIP-code lookup, confirm that you selected the correct plan, and consider an antenna for local CBS if reception is predicted at your address. Do not assume that adding a Turner-focused plan solves the CBS gap.

“The antenna found no CBS signal”
Run another channel scan after moving the antenna, then compare the result with the FCC reception map. Indoor reception can be unreliable in apartments, dense urban areas, hilly terrain, and buildings with obstructive materials. An antenna may not be practical at every address.
“NCAA March Madness Live asks me to sign in”
That can be expected when a game requires authentication through a qualifying TV provider. Use the credentials for the provider that carries the relevant network. If you do not have qualifying access, use an authorized standalone service or live-TV service instead.
“The app will not work on my television”
Check the provider’s current supported-device list. If the TV is not supported, use a supported browser or device rather than installing an unofficial application. Device compatibility, app features, simultaneous-stream rules, and picture quality can change and should not be assumed from an older season.

Do not use unauthorized restreaming sites, social-media broadcasts, or services that claim to rebroadcast March Madness without rights. They may disappear during the game, expose viewers to malware or intrusive advertising, and do not provide a legitimate substitute for CBS, TBS, TNT, truTV, Paramount+, HBO Max, NCAA March Madness Live, or an authorized live-TV provider.
For the same reason, StreamNeo is not a March Madness viewing service. Its official product is designed for cloud rebroadcasting of a user’s own or rights-cleared prerecorded video to live platforms, not for watching or redistributing tournament games.

Recheck these details before March 2027
Because this guide is being prepared while the 2027 tournament is still upcoming, verify the following shortly before the Sweet 16:
- the final 2027 bracket and Thursday/Friday tip times;
- the network assignment for each game;
- current Paramount+ and HBO Max plan requirements;
- live-TV service prices, package names, promotions, and trial terms;
- local CBS availability at your address;
- blackout, authentication, and simultaneous-stream rules;
- supported devices and current app availability.
The reliable decision rule is simple: if you want every game, cover all four networks. If you choose standalone services, that normally means Paramount+ for CBS plus HBO Max for TBS, TNT, and truTV. If you choose a live-TV provider, verify all four channels—including your local CBS affiliate—before subscribing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I watch every 2027 Sweet 16 game with Paramount+ alone?
No. Paramount+ is the relevant standalone destination for CBS-carried games, but games carried by TBS, TNT, and truTV require HBO Max or an authorized live-TV provider carrying those networks.
Can an antenna show March Madness for free?
An antenna may receive locally broadcast CBS games over the air, depending on your location and reception conditions. It cannot receive TBS, TNT, or truTV, so it is not a complete tournament solution.
Is Sling TV enough to watch the entire Sweet 16?
Not automatically. Sling may be useful for TBS, TNT, and truTV, but CBS access is market-dependent and may require an antenna or another authorized option. Verify the 2027 lineup and your local CBS availability first.
When will the 2027 Sweet 16 game channels be known?
As of August 12, 2026, the matchups, tip times, and individual network assignments are not yet available. Check the official NCAA schedule when those details are published.
Is NCAA March Madness Live free?
NCAA March Madness Live is an official viewing destination, but access can require qualifying TV-provider credentials for games. Do not assume it provides unrestricted access to every game without authentication.
