In the United States, the 2026 U.S. Open Tennis Championships will be carried by ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, ESPN Deportes and the ESPN App. ESPN says its coverage will include more than 170 hours on television, more than 110 hours in Spanish and a digital grounds pass offering more than 1,000 hours of matches and court feeds. For the least restrictive streaming option, use ESPN Unlimited or an eligible television package with ESPN access. The 2026 singles main draw runs from August 30 through September 13; the women’s final is September 12 and the men’s final is September 13.
This guide is about tennis, not the golf U.S. Open. Golf coverage uses NBC, USA Network and Peacock, while the U.S. Open Tennis Championships are an ESPN property in the United States. The current U.S. television details are listed by the official U.S. Open TV schedule.
Prices and plan details below were checked against ESPN information as of August 10, 2026. ESPN can change prices, packages, promotions and event entitlements, so check the event listing before subscribing specifically for a particular court or match.
2026 U.S. Open tennis dates
The tournament calendar contains more than the two singles finals. Fan Week and qualifying come first, followed by the men’s and women’s singles draws, doubles, mixed doubles, junior and wheelchair competitions. The official tournament schedule is the final authority for session times and event changes.

These dates apply to the 2026 tournament. Match times, court assignments, session contents and gates can change because of weather, match length, withdrawals or scheduling decisions. How to watch U.S. Open tennis in the United States
| If you want… | Use… |
|---|---|
| The main televised coverage | ESPN or ESPN2 through cable, satellite or a participating live-TV service |
| Selected Sunday coverage and the men’s final | ABC; the 2026 men’s singles final is scheduled for ABC for the third consecutive year |
| Spanish-language coverage | ESPN Deportes through an eligible provider or ESPN Unlimited |
| Every available court and the most control | The ESPN App with the appropriate ESPN entitlement, preferably ESPN Unlimited or an eligible provider package that includes it |
| Qualifying and Fan Week coverage | ESPN2, the ESPN App and selected supplemental Tennis Channel programming |
ESPN is the exclusive U.S. domestic rightsholder for the 2026 U.S. Open tennis tournament. ESPN and the USTA have also extended their relationship under a long-term agreement described in ESPN’s rights announcement.
Television coverage versus court-by-court streaming
Linear television cannot show every match being played at the same time. ESPN and ESPN2 will carry the primary featured matches and television windows, while ABC has selected coverage, including the men’s singles championship. The ESPN App is the place to look for the broader digital grounds pass and additional court feeds.
That distinction matters in the early rounds. A player may be competing on a court that is not being shown on ESPN or ESPN2 even though a digital feed is available. A television guide tells you what ESPN has selected for broadcast; the official order of play and ESPN App help you locate a specific match.
Which ESPN plan should you buy?
Current ESPN branding separates ESPN Select from ESPN Unlimited. ESPN Select is the renamed ESPN+ tier. It is not simply a cheaper version of the complete ESPN television package.
| Plan | Price as of August 10, 2026 | What it includes | U.S. Open advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| ESPN Select | $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year | ESPN+ content only; it does not include the ESPN and ESPN2 linear networks or ESPN on ABC | Do not treat it as a guaranteed way to watch the entire tennis tournament. Use it only after confirming that the particular stream you want is labeled as available to Select or ESPN+. |
| ESPN Unlimited | $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year | ESPN networks and services, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN on ABC and ESPN+ | The safest direct ESPN route for the full televised package, finals and the digital coverage advertised for the U.S. Open. |
See ESPN’s Select and Unlimited comparison and its current pricing information before purchasing.
Why ESPN Unlimited is the safer choice for tennis fans
- It includes the ESPN and ESPN2 channels that carry the main television windows.
- It includes ESPN on ABC, relevant to the scheduled men’s final and other selected Sunday coverage.
- It includes ESPN Deportes for Spanish-language U.S. coverage.
- It is the better choice if you want to move between televised matches and digital court feeds without discovering that your subscription excludes the network feed.
The official U.S. Open page confirms a digital grounds pass with more than 1,000 hours of coverage on the ESPN App, but event-specific entitlement labels can change. Check the live U.S. Open hub when it becomes available. In particular, do not assume that every court advertised in the app is included in ESPN Select merely because older articles call the service ESPN+.

Direct ESPN subscription or live-TV service?
Choose direct ESPN Unlimited if you are a cord-cutter who mainly wants the U.S. Open and ESPN’s network and app access. Monthly billing may make more sense for a tournament-only viewer, while the annual option is designed for year-round use. It does not automatically provide unrelated networks or every local broadcast channel.

Check the exact package and local-channel availability. A package may include ESPN access or ESPN Unlimited, but the entitlement may still need to be activated before all app content appears.
ESPN’s current activation support lists participating providers including Comcast Xfinity, Cox, DIRECTV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, Spectrum, U-verse and Verizon FiOS, along with additional regional providers. Participation and package eligibility can vary.
How to watch U.S. Open tennis in the ESPN App
- Install the ESPN App on a supported phone, tablet, smart TV, streaming player or game console.
- Sign in with an ESPN or MyDisney account.
- If you receive ESPN through a television provider, choose the provider-authentication option and sign in with the credentials for that provider.
- If the provider includes ESPN Unlimited, open the provider’s account page and activate the included ESPN entitlement. Connect or create the associated ESPN/MyDisney login.
- Return to the ESPN App and open the Watch area.
- Search for US Open, or browse the live-event and tennis sections. ESPN’s general app guidance also uses Watch → Browse → Channels for ESPN+ content, although event-specific labels may differ.
- Select the television feed, featured court, digital grounds-pass hub or individual live court that you want to watch.
ESPN explains its authenticated streaming process in its live-streaming instructions and current app navigation guide.
Supported devices
ESPN lists support for web browsers, iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Apple TV fourth generation and later, Chromecast, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, Android TV and smart-TV platforms from Hisense, LG, Samsung and Vizio. It also lists supported platforms from Xfinity, Cox, Xumo and other television providers. Compatibility can depend on the specific model and operating-system version; check ESPN’s supported-devices page if an older television or streaming box is involved.

U.S. Open tennis finals: dates, times and channels
| Match | Date and time | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Women’s singles final | Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET | ESPN’s scheduled television and app coverage; confirm the live event listing before match day |
| Men’s singles final | Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. ET | ABC, as scheduled, plus authorized ESPN App access |
The men’s final is the clearest opportunity for viewers with an antenna: ABC’s local affiliate may carry it over the air. That does not make the whole U.S. Open tennis tournament free. The women’s final and the rest of the tournament require checking the applicable ESPN television or streaming entitlement.

How to find a specific U.S. Open match
A generic TV schedule is not enough for most early-round matches. Use this process:
- Open the official U.S. Open schedule or order of play close to the match date.
- Confirm the player, court and session. Note whether the match is in the singles, doubles, mixed doubles, junior or wheelchair draw.
- Search the ESPN App for the U.S. Open event hub or the court feed corresponding to the order of play.
- Check the stream’s entitlement label before the match begins.
- If the preceding match runs long, keep the event page open rather than assuming the listed start time means the match will begin immediately.
The tournament schedule warns that match dates, start times, session contents and gate times are subject to change. Weather, unusually long matches and withdrawals can all move a match or change the court assignment.
What events are covered?
The U.S. Open Tennis Championships are not limited to the men’s and women’s singles finals. The official schedule includes:
- Men’s and women’s singles
- Men’s and women’s doubles
- Mixed doubles
- Junior competitions
- Wheelchair competitions
- The Qualifying Tournament
- Fan Week exhibitions, activities and related events
Coverage differs by event. Featured stadium matches are more likely to receive television treatment, while court-by-court digital feeds may provide wider access. Highlights, scores and radio are useful alternatives but are not substitutes for live video.
Is Tennis Channel showing the U.S. Open?
Tennis Channel is supplemental, not the primary U.S. home of the 2026 U.S. Open tennis main draw. The official schedule describes preview programming and selected Qualifying and Fan Week live coverage after ESPN’s linear window. It should not be treated as a service carrying the complete main-draw tournament.
How to watch U.S. Open tennis outside the United States
Rights are territorial. The service that works in the United States may not work when you are physically in another country, and the official international list does not identify one universal streaming product for the entire world. Use the broadcaster for the country where you are watching and check that broadcaster’s television package or app.
| Country or region | Officially listed broadcaster |
|---|---|
| 49 European countries | Eurosport |
| United Kingdom and Ireland | Sky Sports |
| Spain | Telefónica |
| Italy | SuperTennis and Sky Italia |
| Germany, Austria and Switzerland | Sporteurope.TV and Sky Deutschland; Austria also lists Puls4 |
| Australia | Channel Nine and Stan Sport |
| Japan | WOWOW |
| Canada | TSN and RDS |
| Latin America and the Caribbean | ESPN International; Brazil also lists SporTV |
| Middle East and North Africa | beIN Sports |
| Sub-Saharan Africa | SuperSport |
| Southeast Asia | Eclat/SpoTV |
| South Korea | CJ Media |
| Hong Kong | PCCW |
| Taiwan | Sportcast |
| China | CCTV and MIGU |
These assignments come from the official 2026 international broadcast-partner list. Availability, language, blackout rules and streaming products can vary within a region, so follow the local broadcaster’s current instructions.

Can you watch U.S. Open tennis for free?
There is no confirmed free, full-tournament U.S. video stream. Legal no-additional-cost options are limited:
- ABC over the air: An antenna may receive a local ABC affiliate for scheduled ABC windows, including the men’s final. Reception depends on location and signal conditions.
- Official digital updates: The U.S. Open provides scores, news, video clips, social updates and app notifications. These are not the same as complete live-match video.
- US Open Radio: Radio coverage may be available when the service is active.
- Fan Week in New York: Grounds admission is free from August 23–29, 2026 with the required free Fan Access Pass. Premium Fan Week events may require paid tickets.
ABC does not show every court, every round or every tournament event. Be wary of sites promising a free full-event stream without authorization.
How to attend the U.S. Open in person
For Fan Week, adults need a free Fan Access Pass for grounds entry. The official Fan Week information page lists the current access requirements and activities.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor the main draw, buy through the official U.S. Open and Ticketmaster pathway or use Ticketmaster’s verified resale marketplace. According to the official ticket-types explanation:
- Grounds Admission provides access to Louis Armstrong Stadium, Grandstand and the outer courts, but not Arthur Ashe Stadium.
- Arthur Ashe Stadium tickets include access to the other courts, subject to capacity and event rules.
- Tickets are session-specific, so check the date, session and court access before purchasing.
Use the official Ticketmaster information page rather than an unverified reseller.
Troubleshooting locked or missing streams
I paid for ESPN Select, but the match is locked
The match may be assigned to ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC rather than ESPN+. ESPN Select does not include those linear networks. The stream could also be a premium court or event feed, or your account could be outside the authorized territory.
Check the plan label on the stream. If the match requires the broader ESPN package, upgrade to ESPN Unlimited or authenticate through an eligible provider. Then close and reopen the app. Do not assume that paying for the old ESPN+ tier automatically unlocks every U.S. Open court.

I have ESPN through cable, but the ESPN App asks me to subscribe
Having ESPN as a television channel and activating the corresponding app entitlement are not always the same step. Open your provider account, find its ESPN activation or included-apps area, activate ESPN Unlimited if your package provides it, and connect the correct ESPN/MyDisney login. Sign out of the ESPN App, sign back in and verify that the account shows the intended plan.
For Hulu + Live TV, ESPN’s instructions direct viewers to use the MyDisney credentials associated with the Hulu subscription. For Fubo, DIRECTV, Spectrum, Xfinity, Cox, Verizon FiOS, U-verse and other participating providers, the activation location and labels can vary. Follow the official provider activation instructions.
The schedule says the match has started, but it is not on
Use the official order of play and ESPN App live-event listing rather than relying on a fixed start time. A previous match may still be in progress, or weather and other tournament changes may have altered the schedule. Do not assume that a match begins immediately after the scheduled session time.
ABC is listed, but I cannot receive it
ABC is a local broadcast network. You may need an antenna that receives your local ABC affiliate or a live-TV service that carries that station. If ABC is unavailable in your market or you are outside the United States, use an authorized ESPN or local-rightsholder stream instead. ABC coverage does not represent the full tournament.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
I am traveling abroad
U.S. ESPN access may not work outside the United States because sports rights are country-specific. Use the broadcaster listed for the country where you are physically located. VPN workarounds should not be the main plan: they can conflict with service terms and may fail location or account authentication.
I want to watch several courts at once
The ESPN App supports a broad range of televisions, streaming devices and game consoles, and ESPN offers Multiview on some compatible devices. However, do not assume Multiview will be enabled for every 2026 U.S. Open event or every device. Check ESPN’s Multiview compatibility information when the tournament hub is live.
The app works on one device but not another
Confirm that the device appears on ESPN’s supported-device list, update the app and operating system, and sign in with the account that owns or activated the subscription. If several people are watching, check the three-stream limit for ESPN subscriptions and any stricter limit imposed by your television provider.
The Bottom Line
For U.S. viewers, ESPN Unlimited is the clearest all-in-one way to watch the 2026 U.S. Open Tennis Championships. ESPN and ESPN2 carry the main television schedule, ABC is scheduled for selected coverage including the men’s final, ESPN Deportes provides Spanish-language coverage, and the ESPN App supplies the broadest court access. ESPN Select is not a substitute for the full ESPN network package. Outside the United States, use the broadcaster assigned to your country.
