An Apple TV+ subscription by itself did not include the Olympics.
The Games ran February 6–22, 2026, so live competition has ended. The same apps may still show replays, highlights, or archived programs, but availability can change. Check the NBC Olympics FAQ and current Peacock listings for what remains available.
First, clarify what “Apple TV” means
Apple uses “Apple TV” for several different things:
- Apple TV 4K: the streaming box that runs apps such as Peacock, NBC, and NBC Sports.
- Apple TV app: Apple’s discovery and subscription app, which can surface compatible services and offers.
- Apple TV+ subscription: Apple’s own streaming service. It does not automatically include third-party services or their sports rights, as Apple explains in its subscription support documentation.
- Apple TV–Peacock bundle: a separate U.S. package combining Apple TV+ and Peacock subscriptions.
For Olympic viewing, the important distinction is that Peacock content is generally played in the Peacock app, even when you discover or purchase the service through Apple’s ecosystem.

The best option: Peacock on Apple TV 4K
NBC’s official viewing guide identified Peacock as the connected-TV destination for its complete 2026 Olympic streaming plan, including live events and on-demand coverage. That made it the most practical choice for cord-cutters and anyone seeking less prominent events such as qualifiers, curling, hockey, or individual heats rather than only NBC’s scheduled broadcast windows. See the NBC viewing guide for the coverage plan.
Install and use Peacock
- From the Apple TV home screen, open the App Store.
- Search for Peacock.
- Select the app and choose Get or the download button.
- Open Peacock and sign in to an existing Peacock account, or follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe.
- Search for Olympics or open the Olympics hub.
- Select an available live event, replay, highlights package, or other Olympic program. After the Games, use the hub or search results rather than relying on a live tile that may have disappeared.
Peacock’s official signup page and Olympic listings are the authoritative places to check current plans and replay availability.
Using the NBC or NBC Sports app
NBC and NBC Sports were alternatives for viewers who already paid for a participating cable, satellite, or live-TV provider. NBC stated that provider authentication enabled Olympic streams on NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, the NBC app, and the NBC Sports app.

Can the Apple TV app play the Olympics?
The Apple TV app can show compatible channels, links, previews, and subscription offers. Menu names vary by tvOS version, country, and device; look for a Store or Channels & Apps area rather than assuming one universal path. Apple describes the current channel-subscription process in its tvOS guide.
Finding a Peacock offer in Apple’s app does not turn Peacock into part of Apple TV+. Peacock says that its programming remains part of the Peacock service and may require opening the Peacock app after account linking. See Peacock’s Apple help page. Channel availability and integrations also vary by country and software version.

Apple TV–Peacock bundle: when it makes sense
Peacock listed these U.S. bundle prices:
| Bundle | Displayed price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Apple TV + Peacock Premium | $14.99 per month | Viewers who want both services |
| Apple TV + Peacock Premium Plus | $19.99 per month | Viewers who also want downloads and fewer ads |
These are prices displayed on Peacock’s bundle page; promotions, taxes, plan terms, and pricing can change. Premium Plus can still contain advertising in some live sports, channels, and other programming, and downloads apply only to selected titles.
The bundle is unnecessary if your only goal is Olympic access and a standalone Peacock plan meets that need. It is useful when you also want Apple TV+ originals and prefer one combined billing arrangement.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Finding live events, replays, and schedules
- Use Peacock’s Olympics hub and search by sport, event, or athlete.
- Consult the official NBC schedule and viewing guide for event times and platform assignments.
- Remember that the 2026 competition dates were February 6–22, 2026. Some events began before the opening ceremony.
- After the Games, replay windows and event pages can be removed or reorganized. Search for archived coverage, replays, and highlights instead of expecting every former live stream to remain.
AirPlay fallback
If an app is unavailable on your Apple TV, open Peacock, NBC, NBC Sports, or NBCOlympics.com on an iPhone or iPad, start the program, tap the AirPlay icon, and select the Apple TV. Not every stream supports AirPlay; if the icon is missing or playback is blocked, install the native tvOS app instead.

Common problems and fixes
“I subscribed to Apple TV, but the Olympics are locked.”
You likely have Apple TV+ but not Peacock. Open Peacock directly and check which account is signed in. If you bought the bundle, complete its account-linking process before purchasing anything else. Apple’s limitation is documented at Apple Support, and Peacock explains linking at Peacock Help.
Peacock does not appear in the App Store
- Confirm that you are using an Apple TV 4K (not merely the Apple TV app on another device).
- Check the Apple Account region; app availability differs by country.
- Install available tvOS updates and search the App Store again.
- Look through installed apps in case Peacock is present but no longer on the first home-screen row.
NBC asks for a TV provider
That is expected for NBC’s authenticated route. Select a participating provider and use its credentials. An Apple Account or Peacock login will not replace provider authentication.
An event or replay is missing
The event may not have started, its replay window may have changed, your authentication may have expired, or geographic rights may restrict it. Search the service’s Olympics hub and verify the signed-in account. Because the Games are over, some live pages may simply no longer exist.

4K HDR and Dolby Atmos
NBC announced 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos for selected Olympic coverage, not every event. Actual playback also depended on the specific stream, compatible Apple TV hardware, television, audio equipment, app support, account entitlement, and sufficient bandwidth. Do not treat “Olympics on Apple TV” as a guarantee of 4K or Atmos; NBC’s technical details are at NBC Olympics video and audio quality.
Watching outside the United States
This guide is U.S.-specific. NBC said its online Olympic coverage was limited to the United States and U.S. territories because of broadcasting regulations. Rights, apps, and replay access differ elsewhere; use your country’s official Olympic broadcaster rather than assuming Peacock or NBC will work internationally. See the NBC Olympics FAQ.
Do you need new hardware?
No. An existing Apple TV 4K can run the relevant apps, and compatible smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, phones, tablets, and web browsers may provide alternatives. Apple lists supported Apple TV access devices at Apple Support. Buying an Apple TV 4K solely for Olympic viewing is unnecessary if you already own a compatible device; Apple’s product information is at apple.com/apple-tv-4k.
Bottom line: For U.S. viewers, open Peacock on the Apple TV 4K for the broadest 2026 Olympic coverage and replays that remain available. Use NBC or NBC Sports when you already have an eligible TV-provider login. Apple TV+ alone is not an Olympic subscription.
