No single U.S. service carried every NBA game live during the 2025-26 season. National games were divided among ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, and Prime Video. NBA League Pass supplied most available out-of-market games, but local and national blackouts meant it was not a complete replacement for those networks.
For the broadest practical coverage, viewers generally needed access to ABC and ESPN, Peacock, Prime Video, NBA League Pass, and the local broadcaster or regional sports network serving their team. The right combination depended on the game, the viewer’s ZIP code, and whether the game was nationally televised.
The quickest way to find a 2025-26 NBA game
Start with the official NBA schedule or your team’s schedule, rather than choosing a streaming service first. Find the game’s assigned network and then use the corresponding destination:

| Where the game is listed | What to use | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| ABC or ESPN | Eligible TV-provider access or ESPN access, including the ESPN App where applicable | Access depends on the viewer’s subscription, provider, and market. |
| NBC or Peacock | NBC through a local broadcaster or provider, or Peacock NBA games | Peacock carried NBCUniversal’s assigned games, not the entire NBA schedule. |
| Prime Video | NBA games on Prime Video | Prime Video carried Amazon’s assigned package only. |
| No national broadcast and outside your local market | NBA League Pass | Local and national blackouts still applied. |
| Your local team’s game | The team’s local broadcaster or regional sports network, where applicable | Availability varied by team, market, ZIP code, and provider. |
If the game was a playoff or Finals game, check the current NBA schedule instead of relying on a recurring weekday pattern. Postseason assignments could change as series and scheduling developed.
Which networks carried the 2025-26 NBA schedule?
ABC and ESPN
ABC and ESPN carried a substantial portion of the national schedule. ESPN’s 2025-26 schedule included Wednesday games as well as additional games on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and special-event dates.
The NBA’s season schedule primer said the ESPN App streamed all ABC and ESPN games. In practice, the viewer still needed eligible access through a participating TV provider or ESPN product. Do not assume that any ESPN-branded subscription automatically supplies every ABC game or the same access as a traditional pay-TV package. Check whether the specific product or provider includes the applicable ABC or ESPN game in your market.
For viewers comparing options, watch NBA on ESPN when the schedule identifies ESPN or ABC as the national outlet. ABC/ESPN access was particularly important because League Pass blacked out national games during their live windows.

NBC returned to national NBA coverage for the 2025-26 season. Peacock streamed NBCUniversal’s NBA games, and NBC Sports stated that all games presented by NBC Sports streamed live on Peacock.
The recurring schedule pattern included:
- Peacock NBA Monday games;
- NBC and Peacock coverage on Tuesdays; and
- Sunday night games on NBC and Peacock.
Additional national games appeared during the season, so the weekday pattern was a useful starting point rather than a substitute for checking the individual listing. Peacock did not carry every NBA game. It carried the games assigned to NBCUniversal.
Prime Video
Prime Video carried Amazon’s exclusive U.S. NBA package. The schedule included Friday games, Thursday games beginning later in the season, selected Saturday afternoon games, the Emirates NBA Cup knockout rounds, the Play-In Tournament, and selected playoff games.
Amazon’s rights announcement described the package as including 66 regular-season games, the NBA Cup, the Play-In Tournament, more than 20 playoff games per year, and NBA League Pass distribution through Prime Video Channels. That did not mean Prime Video carried the entire NBA schedule. It was the destination for the games specifically assigned to Amazon.

How NBA League Pass blackouts worked
NBA League Pass was the main out-of-market product during the 2025-26 season. It offered live or on-demand access to available games outside the viewer’s local market, but the accurate promise is every available out-of-market game, not every NBA game live in the United States.

There were two major blackout categories:
Local blackouts
If a game involved a team in the viewer’s local market and was available through the team’s local broadcaster or regional sports network, League Pass did not provide live access to that game in the area. The NBA said locally blacked-out games became available on League Pass three days after the game.
Local distribution was not identical for every team. Depending on the market, the game could be carried by a regional sports network, a local broadcaster, or another team-specific distribution arrangement. Check the team’s official schedule, local listings, and the provider’s ZIP-code availability before subscribing.
National blackouts
League Pass also blacked out nationally televised games while they were being shown live on ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, or Prime Video. Those games became available on demand through League Pass at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time the following day, according to the NBA Help Center.
This is why League Pass cannot replace the national networks for live viewing. A viewer might have League Pass and still need to switch to ESPN, Peacock, Prime Video, or ABC when a game is being shown nationally.
League Pass tiers
The standard League Pass tier supported every available out-of-market game live or on demand on one device. League Pass Premium included every available out-of-market game live or on demand on up to three devices.
For viewers who prefer Amazon’s interface, NBA League Pass through Prime Video Channels was also available as a digital channel option. It remained subject to the same basic issue: League Pass through Prime Video did not remove local or national blackouts and was not a way to watch every U.S. game live.
How to cover the local games League Pass misses
League Pass is most useful for a fan who lives outside a team’s market. Someone who follows a local team needs to solve the in-market question separately.
- Identify the team’s local outlet. Check the team’s official schedule or local listings to see whether the game is on a regional sports network, local broadcast station, or another local partner.
- Check provider availability by ZIP code. A service that carries one regional sports network may not carry another, even if both networks operate under the same corporate umbrella.
- Add League Pass only for the remaining out-of-market games. This can provide broader coverage but will not replace the local outlet for live in-market games.
- Use the national network when the listing changes. A local team’s game can also be selected for ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, or Prime Video, in which case the national broadcast controls the live viewing destination.
There was no universal live-TV provider that could be recommended for every NBA market. The correct local option required the team and the viewer’s ZIP code. Avoid choosing a provider solely because it advertises sports or carries a national NBA channel.
A practical decision tree for every game
- Is the game listed on ABC or ESPN? Use eligible access through the viewer’s TV provider or ESPN product, and use the ESPN App where applicable.
- Is it listed on NBC or Peacock? Watch through NBC if the viewer’s local broadcaster or provider carries it, or stream it on Peacock.
- Is it assigned to Prime Video? Open Prime Video and locate the NBA live event.
- Is it not nationally televised and outside the viewer’s local market? Use NBA League Pass, subject to blackout and other availability rules.
- Is it a local team game? Check the team’s local broadcaster or regional sports network. League Pass may be blacked out live.
- Is it a playoff or Finals game? Check the official NBA schedule because the postseason network depends on the round and can change.
A simple rule captures the whole process: check the game listing first, then choose the service shown beside it. Buying League Pass before checking the schedule is the most common way to end up missing nationally televised or locally blacked-out games.
NBA Cup, Play-In Tournament, and playoff coverage
Emirates NBA Cup
Emirates NBA Cup Group Play began on October 31, 2025. National coverage for Group Play games was distributed among the NBA’s media partners. Prime Video streamed the knockout rounds, including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship game.

Because Cup games were assigned across multiple partners, neither Peacock, Prime Video, ESPN, nor League Pass alone was a complete Cup solution. The individual game listing remained the deciding source.

2026 Play-In Tournament
Prime Video’s NBA package included the Play-In Tournament. Viewers should still confirm the specific game’s listing because national schedules and times can be revised.
2026 Playoffs and NBA Finals
The 2026 Playoffs began on April 18, 2026. The published postseason key dates assigned the Eastern Conference Finals to ESPN and ABC, while the Western Conference Finals were scheduled for NBC and Peacock. The 2026 NBA Finals were scheduled for ABC.
Those assignments describe the published coverage plan, not a permanent rule for every postseason. Series results, scheduling changes, and later network announcements can alter individual game listings. For an upcoming postseason, use the NBA schedule and the network’s live schedule rather than hard-coding a full bracket into a guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhat the NBA App and NBA.com could—and could not—do
For 2025-26, the NBA introduced a digital feature designed to guide fans from the NBA App, NBA.com, team platforms, and selected league-partner sites to the appropriate live stream.
This was useful as a game finder. It did not create a subscription, override a blackout, or unlock a game assigned to a network the viewer could not access. Treat it as a way to locate the correct destination, not as a standalone all-games streaming service.
Is there a single package for every NBA game?
No. The broadest U.S. setup for the 2025-26 season generally combined:
- ABC and ESPN access for Disney’s national games;
- Peacock, and NBC access where applicable, for NBCUniversal’s games;
- Prime Video for Amazon’s assigned games;
- NBA League Pass for available out-of-market games; and
- the local broadcaster or regional sports network for in-market games.
Even this combination did not make every game available on one screen or through one login. A local blackout could require a local provider, while a national blackout could require the network carrying that game live.
There was also no need to buy special hardware to unlock NBA rights. A compatible television, phone, computer, or streaming device could make it easier to use the Prime Video, Peacock, ESPN, or NBA apps, but a device did not provide the subscription or remove blackout restrictions. The main purchase decision was access to the correct services, not a particular piece of equipment.

- Assuming League Pass means every game live: Local and national blackouts apply. Locally blacked-out games were delayed three days, and nationally blacked-out games became available at 6:00 a.m. ET the next day.
- Assuming Peacock carries the NBA schedule: Peacock carried NBCUniversal’s assigned games only.
- Assuming Prime Video carries every game: Amazon carried its defined national package and offered League Pass as a separate channel option.
- Using an old TNT-focused guide: The published 2025-26 national schedule centered on Disney, NBCUniversal, and Amazon. Do not treat TNT as a standard 2025-26 destination without verifying a specific exception.
- Choosing a local provider without checking the ZIP code: Regional sports-network rights and provider lineups varied by market.
- Confusing next-day access with live access: A game appearing in League Pass after a blackout window did not mean League Pass carried it live.
- Relying on a recurring weekday pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Sunday, Friday, and other patterns were useful guides, but the individual NBA schedule controlled.
What viewers outside the United States needed to know
This guide applies to the United States. International NBA rights varied by country, and the U.S. combination of ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, Prime Video, League Pass, and local networks should not be exported to another territory.
Prime Video’s international NBA availability also differed by country. International viewers should check the NBA’s local rights holder and the services available in their country before subscribing. A country-specific guide is required to make a reliable recommendation; there is no universal international package that can be inferred from the U.S. schedule.

Recommended Free Tools
Did Prime Video carry every NBA game?
No. Prime Video carried Amazon’s assigned package, including selected regular-season games, NBA Cup knockout rounds, the Play-In Tournament, and selected playoff coverage. NBA League Pass was a separate subscription option through Prime Video Channels and remained subject to blackouts.
How could I watch my local NBA team?
Check the team’s official schedule and local listings for its regional sports network or local broadcaster, then confirm provider availability by ZIP code. League Pass may not show the game live in the team’s local market.
Where were the 2026 NBA Finals scheduled to air?
The published 2026 postseason schedule listed the NBA Finals for ABC. Individual dates and assignments should still be checked against the current NBA schedule because postseason coverage can change.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: There was no one-stop U.S. service for every 2025-26 NBA game. Use the NBA schedule to identify the game’s network, keep League Pass for available out-of-market coverage, and arrange separate local-market access when your team’s games are blacked out.
