It offered more than 5,000 hours of coverage, all 329 medal events, both ceremonies, sport hubs, an interactive schedule, Gold Zone, and multiview. The Games ran from preliminary competition on July 24 through August 11, 2024, so current readers should treat this as a 2024 viewing guide and verify the availability of any replay they want to watch.
The main online option for U.S. viewers during the Paris 2024 Olympics was Peacock. Its Olympics hub brought together more than 5,000 hours of coverage, including all 329 medal events, live and on-demand event pages, both ceremonies, sport hubs, an interactive schedule, medal standings, Gold Zone whip-around coverage, and multiview features.
The Paris Games are no longer live: preliminary events began on July 24, 2024, the Opening Ceremony took place on July 26, and the Olympics concluded on August 11, 2024. This guide explains how the online viewing options worked in 2024 and what to know about finding replays now.
Peacock was the most complete online option
For viewers who wanted one place to find nearly every Olympic sport, Peacock was the simplest choice. After subscribing and signing in, viewers could open the Olympics hub in a web browser or the Peacock app and browse live, upcoming, and on-demand coverage.

- Ultra-speedy streaming: Roku Ultra is 30% faster than any other Roku player, delivering a lightning-fast interface and apps that launch in a snap.
- Cinematic streaming: This TV streaming device brings the movie theater to your living room with spectacular 4K, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision picture alongside immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
- The ultimate Roku remote: The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro offers backlit buttons, hands-free voice controls, and a lost remote finder.
- No more fumbling in the dark: See what you’re pressing with backlit buttons.
- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
That breadth mattered because Olympic events were spread across simultaneous sessions and traditional television broadcasts. Instead of first determining which NBCUniversal network carried a particular sport, viewers could use Peacock’s Olympics hub to find the event directly.
- Live coverage: Peacock carried all 329 medal events and thousands of hours of Olympic programming.
- On-demand viewing: Viewers could return to event pages and other coverage after a live session ended, subject to the availability of the specific program.
- Sport hubs: Dedicated sections helped viewers find sports such as swimming, gymnastics, track and field, basketball, soccer, and other competitions.
- Interactive schedule: The schedule could be used to locate events by sport, event, athlete, and coverage type.
- Gold Zone: This whip-around program moved between important moments happening across multiple events.
- Multiview: Supported viewing setups could display more than one event at a time, which was useful when sessions overlapped.
To watch through Peacock in 2024, the basic process was:
- Open Peacock in a supported browser or launch the Peacock app on a compatible device.
- Sign in to an eligible Peacock account.
- Open the Olympics hub.
- Choose a live event, an upcoming event, a sport hub, Gold Zone, or another available program.
How to watch through NBC with a cable or pay-TV login
Viewers who already had an eligible participating cable or pay-TV subscription could also authenticate on NBC’s digital platforms. This was not an unrestricted free stream: access depended on signing in with credentials from a participating television provider.
In 2024, authenticated viewers could use:
- NBCOlympics.com
- NBC.com
- The NBC app
- The NBC Olympics app
After opening one of those services, viewers selected the sign-in or provider-authentication option and entered their pay-TV credentials. Once authentication succeeded, NBC’s digital platforms provided live streams of Olympic events available through the service.

- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
This route was particularly useful for people who already paid for an eligible television package and did not want a separate Peacock subscription. However, Peacock was generally the more convenient destination for discovering the full range of events because its Olympics hub was designed around the entire Games rather than around a particular network schedule.
Where you could watch the Olympics online
NBC’s Olympic streams and Peacock coverage were designed to work across common viewing devices, including:
- Desktop and laptop web browsers
- iPhone and Android phones
- Tablets
- Supported smart TVs
- Connected-TV platforms
- Apple TV and Google TV devices
- Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices
- Chromecast-compatible setups
- PlayStation and Xbox consoles
- Certain provider set-top boxes
Exact support depended on the device model, operating-system version, and app availability. If the Peacock app did not appear in a device’s app store, the model or software version might not have been supported.
How to watch Peacock on a television without a supported app
A streaming device was optional. If Peacock already worked on your smart TV, game console, provider box, computer, phone, or tablet, you did not need additional hardware.

For a television without a supported built-in Peacock app, an Amazon Fire TV Stick was one practical way to add compatible streaming apps. The Fire TV setup process was:
- Connect the Fire TV device to an HDMI port on the television and complete the on-screen setup.
- Open the Fire TV Appstore.
- Search for “Peacock.”
- Select the Peacock app and choose the install option.
- Open Peacock and sign in or select an available plan.
- Open the Olympics hub when coverage is available.
Buying a Fire TV Stick did not include a Peacock subscription, a cable subscription, or Olympic viewing rights. It supplied the compatible hardware; viewers still needed eligible Peacock access or, where applicable, authenticated NBC access.
How to find a particular sport, event, or athlete
For a specific competition, the NBC Olympics schedule was more useful than relying only on a primetime television listing. The schedule could be filtered by sport, event, athlete, and whether coverage was television or digital.
A practical approach was:
- Open the Olympic schedule.
- Filter by the sport or event you wanted.
- Check the date and start time, remembering that Olympic sessions could overlap.
- Look for the listed digital or streaming coverage.
- Open the event through Peacock or an authenticated NBC platform, depending on the access route available to you.
This was especially important for sports with multiple preliminary rounds, heats, qualifying sessions, and medal competitions. A primetime broadcast might show highlights or selected finals rather than every session.

How to watch the Opening and Closing Ceremonies
The Opening Ceremony streamed live on Peacock and NBC’s Olympic digital platforms on July 26, 2024. An enhanced evening encore was also scheduled for viewers who could not watch the live presentation.
The Closing Ceremony streamed on August 11, 2024, through Peacock and NBC’s Olympic platforms, with live and enhanced encore coverage. Because these were 2024 broadcasts, current replay access is separate from the original live-stream schedule.

Some Paris 2024 material may remain available as replay or “Best of Paris 2024” programming, but availability can change. Current listings do not establish that every original live event feed, full session, or ceremony replay remains accessible.
If you are looking for a particular 2024 event, search for that exact sport, event, athlete, or final within the current Peacock Olympics or Paris 2024 collection. Do not assume that a program that streamed live in 2024 is still available in its entirety.

Important geographic limitation
This guide applied to viewers in the United States and certain U.S. territories. Peacock’s availability and Olympic streaming rights varied by country. A viewer outside the U.S. needed to use the broadcaster or streaming service holding Olympic rights in that location; Peacock was not a universal worldwide Olympic platform.
Which option was right for you?
| Situation | Best 2024 viewing route |
|---|---|
| You wanted the broadest selection in one place | Peacock’s Olympics hub |
| You already had an eligible cable or pay-TV subscription | Authenticate on NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, or the NBC apps |
| You wanted to follow several simultaneous events | Peacock’s Gold Zone and supported multiview features |
| You wanted one specific sport or athlete | Use the NBC Olympics schedule and filter by sport, event, or athlete |
| Your TV did not support the Peacock app | Add a compatible streaming device such as a Fire TV Stick |
| You are looking for Paris 2024 coverage now | Search current Peacock listings, while checking the exact replay rather than assuming complete archival access |
What not to assume
- The 2024 Games are not currently live; they ended on August 11, 2024.
- Peacock was the principal comprehensive U.S. streaming option, not a worldwide Olympic service.
- NBC’s digital streams generally required authentication with an eligible participating pay-TV provider.
- A Fire TV Stick enabled app access but did not include Peacock or Olympic rights.
- Current replay catalogs should be checked event by event; not every original 2024 feed is guaranteed to remain online.

Peacock was the broadest U.S. option because its Olympics hub included all 329 medal events and more than 5,000 hours of coverage. Viewers with an eligible participating cable or pay-TV subscription could also authenticate on NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, or the NBC apps.
Did a Fire TV Stick include Peacock or the Olympics?

For U.S. viewers during Paris 2024, Peacock was the most complete online destination: sign in, open the Olympics hub, and use its event schedule, sport pages, Gold Zone, and multiview tools. Existing cable or pay-TV customers could instead authenticate through NBC’s Olympic websites and apps. Today, only specific replay listings can be confirmed, so check the exact event rather than assuming the full 2024 archive remains available.
