For the 2025 season, the best cable-free option depended on your location. Fans inside the Rangers’ television territory could use Victory+’s $100 season pass for local broadcasts, while Fubo and eligible DIRECTV STREAM packages offered Rangers Sports Network within supported markets. An antenna carried 15 announced free over-the-air games. Fans outside the territory generally needed MLB.TV, subject to blackouts. Nationally exclusive games required their designated platforms.
This is a retrospective guide to the 2025 season. The prices and provider lineups below should not be treated as current 2026 offers.

What changed for Rangers broadcasts in 2025?
The Rangers moved their local broadcasts away from Bally Sports Southwest for the 2025 season. The team launched Rangers Sports Network as its new local television network, with Victory+ serving as the direct-to-consumer streaming home for the local package.
The Rangers also distributed games through selected traditional providers and live-TV streaming services. The team’s announced distribution partners included DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, U-verse, and Spectrum, while Fubo added Rangers Sports Network on March 18, 2025. Some games were also shown free over the air, and nationally exclusive games remained separate from the local RSN package.

Where was the Rangers’ television territory?
The announced Rangers television territory covered Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and parts of New Mexico. That did not mean every household in those states received the same station or streaming channel. Availability varied by ZIP code, local affiliate, provider, and package.
Before subscribing, use the Rangers’ Tune In availability page and enter your address or ZIP code where requested. The same check matters for Victory+, Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM, local OTA stations, and MLB.TV.

Victory+ was the most direct cable-free choice for fans inside the Rangers’ territory who primarily wanted Rangers baseball. The announced 2025 season pass cost $100 and included the team’s local-season broadcasts plus select Spring Training games. The local package was described as approximately 150 regional television broadcasts, with nationally exclusive games handled separately.
To evaluate the service for your location:
- Open the official Victory+ Rangers page.
- Enter or confirm your location if prompted.
- Verify that your address is inside the eligible Rangers territory.
- Review the applicable 2025 season package before paying.
- Create or sign in to a Victory+ account and use the supported web, mobile, or TV option available to you.
- On game day, check whether the event is listed as a Rangers local broadcast or as a national exclusive.
Victory+ was not a guarantee of every Rangers game. If a game was exclusive to FOX, ESPN, Apple TV+, Roku, or another national partner, the national service—not Victory+—was the relevant destination.
Fubo: better for a broader sports package
Fubo began carrying Rangers Sports Network on March 18, 2025. The arrangement applied to subscribers on Fubo’s paid English-language plans within the RSN footprint and included the network’s available game coverage, including pregame and postgame programming.
Fubo made more sense than Victory+ for viewers who wanted Rangers baseball alongside national sports networks, other live programming, and local channels where available. It generally represented a broader live-TV replacement rather than a Rangers-only purchase, so it was not the cheapest verified route for someone interested only in the team.

Fubo also warned that selected Rangers games could be blacked out on the Rangers Sports Network feed when a local channel carried the game. Check the Fubo blackout explanation and confirm the lineup at the Rangers product page before subscribing. The available 2025 information does not establish a single monthly price that should be presented as definitive.

DIRECTV STREAM: verify both the ZIP code and plan
DIRECTV STREAM was listed among the Rangers Sports Network distribution partners. It could suit fans who wanted a larger cable-replacement package rather than a team-specific subscription.
However, RSN access depended on the customer’s market and selected package. Enter your ZIP code on DIRECTV’s site and inspect the actual channel lineup before subscribing. Do not assume that every DIRECTV STREAM plan included Rangers Sports Network. Also distinguish DIRECTV STREAM from DIRECTV satellite and U-verse products: they are separate services with different availability and package structures.
National games could still appear on FOX, ESPN, Apple TV+, Roku, or another exclusive platform. DIRECTV STREAM’s MLB information page is useful for the broader service context, but the plan-specific lineup was the deciding factor.
Free Rangers games with an antenna
The Rangers announced 15 free over-the-air broadcasts for 2025, mostly Friday home games. In the Dallas–Fort Worth area, KDAF-TV/CW33 was the flagship station. Other stations participated in parts of the territory through Nexstar and Gray Media.
An antenna could therefore provide selected games without a monthly subscription, including the first announced regular-season OTA broadcast on March 28, 2025, against Boston. But an antenna was only a supplement:
- It did not provide the complete season.
- Reception depended on distance from the station, terrain, building materials, antenna placement, and local signal conditions.
- OTA availability was limited to the relevant station’s broadcast market.
- It could not provide games exclusive to a streaming service or national network.
Use an antenna if you live near a participating station and want the free broadcasts, but do not choose it as your only full-season plan.
MLB.TV for fans outside the Rangers’ territory
MLB.TV was primarily the out-of-market option. A Rangers fan living outside the team’s television territory could generally use MLB.TV for live or on-demand regular-season games, subject to MLB’s local-blackout and national-exclusivity rules.

A Rangers game can be blacked out even when the game is being played away from Texas, and a game may remain unavailable live even if it is not shown locally.

Use MLB’s ZIP-code and blackout checker before buying. Also review MLB’s explanations of national restrictions and location-based availability. When a live video stream is unavailable, MLB may still offer live audio, and an on-demand archive may become available later, depending on the restriction.

The Rangers’ March 2025 schedule update identified 11 games slated for exclusive national broadcasts on FOX, Apple TV+, Roku, and ESPN. The same update said Rangers Sports Network was scheduled to carry the other 151 games, subject to change, including 136 through traditional carriers and 15 over the air.

The precise national schedule was subject to change. Always check the official Rangers schedule for the specific game rather than assuming that one subscription covered the entire season.

What to do when a Rangers game is missing
- Check the official Rangers schedule and note the listed network.
- Identify whether the game is local RSN, OTA, national, postponed, or rescheduled.
- Confirm your ZIP code and physical location with the provider.
- Check that your Fubo or DIRECTV STREAM plan actually includes the relevant RSN or national channel.
- Look for a blackout notice, including the possibility that a local station is carrying the game instead.
- Check the designated national platform if the listing says FOX, ESPN, Apple TV+, Roku, or another exclusive outlet.
- Confirm that the app is signed into the correct account and that any required provider authentication is complete.
Do not rely on a VPN as a normal blackout solution. VPN use can violate service terms, trigger location verification failures, and behave inconsistently across devices.
Best choice by viewer type
In-market, Rangers games only
Victory+ was the clearest 2025 choice, with a verified $100 season pass for the local package. Budget separately for nationally exclusive games if you wanted every broadcast live.
In-market, Rangers plus other sports
Compare Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM. Fubo’s verified RSN carriage and sports-oriented lineup suited viewers seeking a broader sports bundle. DIRECTV STREAM suited viewers seeking a larger live-TV replacement. In both cases, compare the exact ZIP-code lineup and package rather than relying on the service name alone.
Out-of-market
Start with MLB.TV and use MLB’s blackout checker. It was designed for out-of-market access, but national exclusives and overlapping team territories could still affect availability.
Occasional or free viewing
Use an antenna for the announced OTA games. For other games, you would need an existing eligible live-TV or national streaming subscription. There was no verified free method for the full 2025 Rangers schedule.
Already subscribed to another live-TV service
YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Sling could be relevant for nationally televised games, but the available 2025 information does not establish that they carried Rangers Sports Network as full-season local replacements. Check the specific network and game listing before assuming coverage.
