You can’t activate the former SHOWTIME Anytime app on Roku TV. The standalone SHOWTIME streaming service ended on April 30, 2024; for current SHOWTIME programming, install Paramount+ and sign in with an account and plan that include the titles you want. If the app displays a code, enter it at Paramount+’s official Roku activation page.
Why the old SHOWTIME Anytime activation no longer works
SHOWTIME’s standalone streaming service was discontinued on April 30, 2024. SHOWTIME directs streaming customers to Paramount+, where SHOWTIME programming is offered as part of Paramount+ plans. The old SHOWTIME Anytime app, provider-selection flow, and activation-code instructions are not the current Roku route. See SHOWTIME’s shutdown notice and its transition information.
That means instructions to find SHOWTIME Anytime in the Roku app store or visit its former activation site should not be treated as working. Use the Paramount+ app and its Roku sign-in flow instead.

What you need before activating Paramount+
- A Roku TV connected to the internet and linked to a Roku account.
- The Paramount+ app installed on the TV.
- A Paramount+ subscription that provides access to the SHOWTIME title you want, or a supported subscription entitlement that can be used with the app.
- The email address and password for the Paramount+ account that owns the subscription.
- A phone or computer if the TV displays an activation code.
Paramount+’s U.S. plan page currently describes SHOWTIME access differently by plan: Essential includes select SHOWTIME series, while Premium is advertised with access to SHOWTIME originals and movies. The page showed Essential at $8.99 per month and Premium at $13.99 per month on August 18, 2026. Those are dated U.S. prices; taxes, offers, plan details, title availability, and regional catalogs can vary. Check Paramount+’s current plans and pricing before subscribing. Do not assume every SHOWTIME title is included in every plan or territory.

Activate Paramount+ on a Roku TV with a code
- Press Home on the Roku remote.
- Open Roku’s app store or search for Paramount+.
- Select Paramount+ and choose Add app or the installation option shown on your TV.
- Open the app and choose Sign In.
- Select the activation, web sign-in, or similar option if offered. App labels can vary by Roku model and app version.
- Write down the code displayed on the TV.
- On a phone or computer, go to https://www.paramountplus.com/activate/roku/.
- Enter the code and sign in to the Paramount+ account with the qualifying subscription.
- Wait for the Roku app to refresh, then open the SHOWTIME title you want to check access.
Sign in directly on the TV instead
If Paramount+ offers email-and-password sign-in on your Roku, select Sign In, enter the credentials for the subscribed account, and follow any on-screen prompts. Then try the desired SHOWTIME title. The available sign-in choices and their wording can differ between app versions.
Choose the right route for your subscription and billing
Access to a SHOWTIME channel through a cable box, a subscription inside The Roku Channel, and SHOWTIME programming within Paramount+ are distinct things. Where you bought a subscription determines where you sign in, who handles billing, and whom to contact about an entitlement problem.

Roku explains that subscriptions purchased through Roku are managed through the Roku account, while direct subscriptions are generally managed by the streaming service. SHOWTIME’s guidance says its Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan is purchased through Paramount+ rather than pay-TV providers; confirm any provider-specific arrangement with your provider. For a Roku-billed subscription, check Roku account subscriptions and purchase history; for a direct Paramount+ subscription, check Paramount+ account billing. Avoid starting a second subscription until you have checked whether another billing channel is already active.

Fix common Paramount+ activation problems
The SHOWTIME Anytime app is missing
That is consistent with the discontinued app no longer being the supported streaming route. Search the Roku app store for Paramount+ and use a qualifying Paramount+ account instead.
The old activation website does not work
Use only the official Paramount+ Roku activation page for a Paramount+ code. Do not enter a Paramount+ code on an old SHOWTIME page or a third-party activation site.

The Paramount+ code is rejected
- Check that you entered the code exactly as shown.
- Return to the Roku sign-in screen to generate a fresh code, then submit it promptly.
- Make sure the browser is signed into the intended Paramount+ account.
- Confirm where the subscription is billed and whether that subscription is meant to work through the Paramount+ app.
- Close and reopen Paramount+ and try again. If needed, update or reinstall the app.
- If it still fails, contact Paramount+ for a direct subscription or the company that bills you for an intermediary subscription.
Paramount+ opens but a SHOWTIME title is locked
- Check whether your plan includes that title; Essential and Premium are not described as offering identical SHOWTIME access.
- Confirm you signed in to the account that owns the subscription.
- If a third party bills you, verify that its entitlement is linked to the account or app you are using.
- Check title availability for your country and plan.
- If you have only a cable SHOWTIME entitlement, ask the provider whether it includes Paramount+ access rather than assuming it does.
You are charged more than once
Review Roku account subscriptions, Paramount+ billing, The Roku Channel subscriptions, and any relevant cable, satellite, Apple, Amazon, or Google bills. A subscription made through one platform may need to be canceled or managed there, even if you watch on Roku. - Check the TV’s internet connection and restart the Roku TV.
- Search the Roku app store for Paramount+ and check for Roku system updates.
- Remove and reinstall the app if it is present but malfunctioning.
- Check that the TV and Roku account regions are supported. For device compatibility, consult Paramount+’s supported-devices help.
If you use a Roku streaming player
The activation process is essentially the same on a Roku streaming stick or player connected to a television: install and open Paramount+ on the Roku device, sign in, and use the activation page if it displays a code. The app runs on the Roku player rather than on the TV’s built-in Roku system.
