Pornhub access in the United States now depends on the state where its servers identify you, the state’s age-verification law, and Aylo’s decision about whether to verify users or block access. There is no single national login, ID-check system, or official workaround that works everywhere.
As of August 9, 2026, Pornhub remains available in Louisiana with third-party verification and in Ohio under Aylo’s interpretation of that state’s law. It is blocked from IP addresses associated with 25 other states. The legal picture is still changing, particularly in Utah, where a law targeting location masking is being challenged in court.
The 2026 Pornhub access map
There are three practical categories:
- Available with age verification: Louisiana.
- Available under a state-specific legal interpretation: Ohio.
- Blocked by Pornhub’s geo-blocking: 25 states listed below.
The block is generally based on the visitor’s apparent IP location rather than a Pornhub account setting. In affected states, the site typically displays a notice saying that elected officials require age verification and that Aylo, Pornhub’s parent company, has chosen not to provide access rather than require users to submit government identification.
States where Pornhub is currently blocked
| Blocked states | What users generally see |
|---|---|
| Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia | Regional access block |
| Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky | Regional access block |
| Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina | Regional access block |
| North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee | Regional access block |
| Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming | Regional access block |
This list includes Iowa and West Virginia, which were added after an earlier dataset’s May 2026 cutoff. The number should not be treated as permanent: states continue to introduce or amend online age-verification laws, and Aylo has been lobbying officials in nearly 30 states.

Louisiana: the available verification route
Louisiana is the clearest example of a state where Pornhub remains available through an age-check process. The system uses LA Wallet, a state digital-wallet service, rather than asking users to upload an identification document directly to Pornhub.
You need a Louisiana driver’s license or Louisiana state ID linked to LA Wallet. The current LA Wallet instructions use the following sequence:
- Create an LA Wallet account.
- Link your Louisiana driver’s license or state ID.
- Open the Share tab in the bottom menu.
- At the top of the Share License page, select Remote Verify.
- Enter the Remote Verify You Code supplied by the website or business.
- Tap Submit.
- Check the requesting business and the stated reason for verification.
- Tap Approve to complete the verification, or Deny to refuse it.
LA Wallet’s support documentation says Remote Verify requires a Louisiana driver’s license or state ID. Someone without one must contact the requesting website or business to ask whether another verification method is available. That alternative is not guaranteed.

Ohio: why it remains accessible
Ohio is not currently on the blocked-state list. Pornhub remains accessible there because Aylo has argued that Ohio’s law is written differently from laws in states where the company has implemented a block or a formal verification flow.

Why Pornhub blocks states instead of checking IDs
State laws do not all require Pornhub to use the same technical system. Aylo has generally chosen geo-blocking in many states rather than collecting or processing government-identification data itself.

That decision produces a different result from a normal age-check page. A visitor in Texas, for example, may not be asked to submit an ID to Pornhub at all; the site may simply refuse access based on the visitor’s apparent location. Moving between a state with access and a blocked state can therefore change the page displayed without any change to the user’s account.
What changed after the Supreme Court’s 2025 ruling
In Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, decided on June 27, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Texas’s age-verification requirement. The Court held that the law triggered intermediate scrutiny and survived that review. It also rejected the argument that adults have a constitutional right to access material covered by the law without first proving their age.
The ruling did not create a federal Pornhub ban or a nationwide government verification portal. It permitted states to impose age-verification requirements. States then adopted different laws, and Aylo made separate decisions about whether to verify users, interpret a law as not requiring the same process, or block access entirely.

VPNs and location masking: what they do and do not establish
A VPN can technically make a website see an IP address associated with another state or country. Because Pornhub’s blocking system relies substantially on IP geolocation, changing the apparent IP location can affect which page appears.
That is not an official Pornhub access method, however. It may conflict with platform rules, state law, or both. A VPN also does not change a user’s physical location, establish legal compliance, or guarantee that a website will accept the connection. VPN addresses may be recognized and blocked, and other location signals can produce inconsistent results.
Utah is a specific legal warning
Utah enacted a law aimed specifically at websites whose users mask their Utah location to evade online-pornography age checks. The state agreed to pause enforcement while Aylo’s lawsuit proceeds; the reported pause lasts until September 3, 2026.

| Claim | More accurate explanation |
|---|---|
| “Pornhub is banned nationwide.” | Incorrect. It remains available in Louisiana with verification and in Ohio under Aylo’s current position. |
| “Every state with an age-verification law shows an ID-check screen.” | Incorrect. Aylo blocks many states instead of operating a state-specific verification process. |
| “Louisiana is blocked like Texas.” | Outdated. Louisiana uses third-party verification through LA Wallet. |
| “Ohio is blocked.” | Outdated according to the latest available research record. |
| “The Supreme Court created national age verification.” | Incorrect. The 2025 decision concerned Texas’s law and did not establish a federal system. |
| “A VPN is automatically lawful everywhere.” | Unsupported, especially in light of Utah’s location-masking law and ongoing litigation. |
| “The blocked-state count is fixed.” | Incorrect. Iowa and West Virginia were added after earlier 2026 lists, and state laws continue to change. |
How to check your situation without guessing
- Identify the state tied to your current internet connection. A site usually sees the public IP address supplied by your internet provider, mobile carrier, or VPN.
- Compare it with the current blocked-state list. Do not rely on a list published before the Iowa and West Virginia additions.
- If you are in Louisiana, use the official LA Wallet flow. Make sure the license or ID is a Louisiana document and follow the Remote Verify prompts.
- If you are in Ohio, understand that availability reflects Aylo’s present legal interpretation. It is not evidence that all state restrictions have disappeared.
- If you are in a blocked state, do not treat a VPN as an official or universally lawful solution. Check current state rules and the service’s terms before using any location-masking tool.
FAQ
Is Pornhub banned in every U.S. state in 2026?
No. As of August 9, 2026, Pornhub remains available in Louisiana with LA Wallet-based verification and remains accessible in Ohio under Aylo’s current interpretation of Ohio law. It is blocked in 25 other states.
Which states block Pornhub in 2026?
The blocked states are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
How does Pornhub age verification work in Louisiana?
Louisiana users need a Louisiana driver’s license or state ID linked to LA Wallet. In LA Wallet, open Share, select Remote Verify, enter the code supplied by the requesting website, review the request, and choose Approve or Deny.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCan a VPN legally access Pornhub from a blocked state?
A VPN can change the IP location that Pornhub detects, but it is not an official access method and does not guarantee legal or platform-policy compliance. Utah has specifically enacted a law targeting location masking for this purpose, although enforcement is paused while litigation continues.
The Bottom Line
There is no universal way to watch Pornhub from every state in 2026. Louisiana uses LA Wallet verification, Ohio remains accessible under Aylo’s current legal position, and Pornhub blocks access from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. VPN-based location masking is technically possible but is neither an official solution nor automatically lawful.
