Method 1: Watch MeTV with an antenna on a Roku TV
If you own a Roku TV and MeTV has a receivable local affiliate in your area, over-the-air television is usually the lowest-cost option. It does not require a monthly streaming subscription, although reception depends on your location, antenna placement, building construction, and the signal from the local station.
What you need for MeTV on a Roku TV
- A Roku TV with an ANT/CABLE IN connection
- An HDTV antenna for Roku TV, either indoor or outdoor depending on signal conditions
- A local MeTV affiliate that broadcasts strongly enough to reach your home
If you have a Roku TV and MeTV is broadcast in your area, an HDTV antenna for Roku TV is the simplest way to try the free over-the-air option. An antenna cannot create a MeTV signal where no local affiliate is available, and an indoor antenna may not perform reliably in every building or location.
How to scan for MeTV
- Connect the antenna’s coaxial cable to the Roku TV’s ANT/CABLE IN port.
- Turn on the TV and return to the Roku home screen.
- Open the Live TV input. If Live TV is not shown, use the TV’s input or setup options to add or enable it.
- Choose the option to scan for broadcast channels. Depending on the Roku TV model and software version, the wording may be similar to Set up TV antenna or Scan for channels.
- Wait for the scan to finish. Roku adds channels it can receive with an adequate signal to the Live TV channel list.
- Open the channel guide and look for the local MeTV affiliate.
Channel numbers are not national. MeTV may appear on a different digital subchannel in each market, so finding a number online for another city is not a reliable shortcut.
Check your ZIP code before buying anything
Use MeTV’s official Where to Watch or ZIP-code locator before choosing an antenna or subscription. Enter your ZIP code and review the results for:
- The local over-the-air affiliate
- The applicable broadcast or subchannel information
- Cable and satellite listings, where available
- Streaming providers that list MeTV in that market
This check matters because MeTV availability varies by market. The locator may show an affiliate in one city but not another, and it may show different channel numbers or provider options in different locations. Treat the official local result as more authoritative than a generic statement such as “MeTV is channel 33” or “MeTV is channel 77.”
Method 2: Use a live-TV streaming service on Roku
A live-TV service is usually the more practical route if you have a separate Roku streaming player, cannot receive MeTV over the air, or want streaming features such as cloud DVR where the selected service offers them.

MeTV’s market listings have included services such as Frndly TV, Philo, Fubo, Sling, and DirecTV Stream in applicable locations. That does not mean every service carries MeTV everywhere. Provider lineups, local availability, plans, pricing, trials, and device support can change, so confirm all of those details on the provider’s current Roku listing and in MeTV’s ZIP-code locator before subscribing.
General setup
- Use MeTV’s official locator to identify services listed for your ZIP code.
- Check the service’s current channel lineup and confirm that MeTV is included in the specific plan you are considering.
- On your Roku device, open Streaming Store or Search.
- Find and install the provider’s official Roku app.
- Open the app, sign in, and search its live channel guide for MeTV.
A subscription is not automatically the best choice. An antenna may cost less over time if you have a Roku TV and a strong local signal. A streaming service may be worth considering when the antenna cannot receive the affiliate or when you prefer an internet-based guide and DVR features.

Can you watch MeTV through The Roku Channel?
The Roku Channel includes free live channels, movies, shows, and Roku Originals, so it is reasonable to check its current live-TV catalog. However, its general availability does not establish that the national MeTV broadcast is universally offered there. Do not assume that searching The Roku Channel will always produce MeTV.
If MeTV appears in your current Roku Channel catalog, follow the on-screen listing. If it does not, use the antenna or live-TV-provider methods above rather than treating The Roku Channel as a guaranteed MeTV solution.
What if you have a Roku stick and an antenna?
A separate Roku stick or box normally connects to the TV through HDMI and does not include the same built-in broadcast tuner and antenna workflow as a Roku TV. Connecting an antenna directly to the Roku player is therefore not the standard solution.
To combine antenna reception with a separate Roku player, you may need an external network tuner that receives the antenna signal and sends it over your home network to a compatible app. Compatibility must be checked for the specific tuner, Roku model, app, and television setup. Why MeTV may be missing after a channel scan
The antenna is connected incorrectly
Confirm that the coaxial cable is connected to the Roku TV’s ANT/CABLE IN port—not an HDMI port or another input. Then repeat the broadcast-channel scan.
The antenna signal is weak
Move an indoor antenna near a window or to a higher, less obstructed position. Keep the cable and antenna connections secure, and scan again after repositioning it. Hills, distance from the transmitter, walls, metal structures, and nearby interference can all affect reception. An outdoor or attic antenna may be more suitable in a weak-signal location, subject to local installation constraints.
MeTV is not broadcast in your area
Check your ZIP code in MeTV’s official locator. If there is no local affiliate, or the affiliate cannot be received at your address, a channel scan cannot add MeTV. In that case, check the streaming providers shown for your market.
The channel assignment changed
Broadcasters can change channel assignments, transmission conditions, or power levels. Roku recommends rescanning periodically, particularly if a previously available channel disappears. Recheck both the Roku channel scan and MeTV’s local locator rather than relying on an old channel number.
