Which Paramount+ plan do you need?
Either current U.S. Paramount+ plan provides access to Knuckles:
| Plan | Listed U.S. price | What it means for Knuckles |
|---|---|---|
| Paramount+ Essential | $8.99 monthly or $89.99 annually | Ad-supported on-demand viewing; includes the series |
| Paramount+ Premium | $13.99 monthly or $139.99 annually | Generally ad-free on-demand viewing; includes the series |
The Premium plan also includes downloads and selected titles in 4K UHD, Dolby Vision, or HDR10, although those features do not necessarily apply to every title or device. Paramount notes that prices, content availability, and technical features may change. Taxes and other service restrictions can also apply. The prices above were listed in the research check dated May 19, 2026.
For the narrow purpose of watching Knuckles, Essential is sufficient. Premium is mainly worth considering if you also want its broader ad-free experience or supported download and enhanced-picture features.
Can you watch Knuckles through Amazon, Apple TV, or Roku?
Yes, but these are alternate ways to subscribe to or access the Paramount+ channel—not proof that the series comes free with another service.

- Enjoy Blu-ray Disc movies in Full HD as well as DVD discs
- Upscale your DVDs to near HD quality
- Easy set-up with included HDMI cord
- Boot up in less than a second with super quick start mode
- Keep things simple with the new user-friendly interface
- Amazon Prime Video: You may subscribe to the Paramount+ channel through Prime Video, but a standard Amazon Prime membership does not by itself include Knuckles.
- Apple TV: The series is available through the Paramount+ channel, not automatically through an Apple TV+ subscription. The Apple TV Store is also listed as a separate digital-purchase option.
- Roku: Paramount+ channel access is listed through Roku. You still need the applicable Paramount+ subscription.
This distinction matters because “available on Amazon” or “available on Apple TV” can describe either a subscription channel or a store listing. Neither phrase means that the show is included with every subscription on that platform.
How to buy Knuckles instead of subscribing
U.S. availability tracking lists the complete season for digital purchase from:
- Amazon Video
- Apple TV Store
- Fandango At Home
When checked on August 6, 2026, listings started at approximately $9.99 for the season. That is a dated snapshot, not a guaranteed permanent price. Retailers control their own pricing, video quality, device compatibility, and digital-rights terms.

Where does Knuckles fit in the Sonic movie timeline?
The series takes place after Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and before Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Knuckles is adjusting to life on Earth after the second film and agrees to train Wade Whipple as his protégé.
For a straightforward viewing order, watch the live-action continuity as follows:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Knuckles
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3
You can follow the basic premise without rewatching the films, but viewing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 first provides the clearest context for Knuckles’ arrival on Earth and his relationship to the other characters.
What is Knuckles about?
Idris Elba voices Knuckles, while Adam Pally plays Wade Whipple. The story pairs the Echidna warrior with Wade, whom Knuckles agrees to train. Much of the season follows Knuckles learning how to live in Green Hills while Wade gains confidence and tries to develop as a fighter.
The broader threat involves The Buyer, a former associate of Dr. Robotnik who sells quill-powered weapons on the black market. The announced supporting cast includes Stockard Channing, Edi Patterson, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, Julian Barratt, Rory McCann, Cary Elwes, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel.

For example, current Australia tracking lists Knuckles on Paramount+ and through several Paramount+ channel options, with Apple TV Store and Fetch TV purchase options. That does not establish the same lineup—or the same price—in every other country. Check the Paramount+ service and local digital stores available in your region before subscribing or buying.
What is the simplest way to watch?
- Want to stream all six episodes: choose Paramount+ Essential unless you specifically want Premium’s additional features.
- Already use Prime Video, Apple TV, or Roku: add the Paramount+ channel through that platform if you prefer consolidated billing and playback.
- Do not want another monthly subscription: compare the season purchase on Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, and Fandango At Home.
- Watching outside the U.S.: verify the local Paramount+ catalog and store listings, because rights and prices vary.
