The 2026 July 4 broadcasts have ended. For that year’s official streams, Macy’s was on NBC and Peacock on July 4, A Capitol Fourth streamed on PBS platforms on July 3, and the Boston Pops event streamed on CNN.com and the CNN app on July 4. The dates and platform access described below are specific to 2026; check each organizer’s official pages for the next edition.
2026 fireworks livestreams at a glance
| Event | Date and program start | Official stream and TV option | Access and fireworks timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks | Saturday, July 4; 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT/MT; two hours | Peacock; NBC broadcast; Telemundo Spanish-language simulcast | Peacock was the online route, but the 2026 announcement does not establish that it was free or available without an account or plan. Fireworks were part of the program. |
| A Capitol Fourth: 250th Weekend Celebration | Friday, July 3; 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT; about 90 minutes | Official watch page, PBS.org, PBS app, Facebook and YouTube; local PBS stations | The official website and YouTube stream were free. The fireworks finale was streamed from Mount Vernon. |
| Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular | Saturday, July 4; scheduled 7–9:30 p.m. ET | CNN.com and the CNN app; WHDH-TV Channel 7 in Boston | CNN said the complete event stream was available to all users, regardless of subscription. Fireworks were scheduled for about 9:15 p.m. ET, but weather delays affected the 2026 event. |
Times above are program or stream start times, not guaranteed fireworks launch times. Fireworks often come near the end of a broadcast; local stations can also adjust schedules. If an event is live, opening the official stream 10–15 minutes early gives you time to find the right player.
Which broadcast should you choose?
- For a large-scale entertainment production: Macy’s combines New York City fireworks with musical performances and a national television presentation.
- For a patriotic concert: A Capitol Fourth is the public-television option, with a concert followed by a fireworks finale.
- For the full Boston Pops event: CNN.com or the CNN app carried the complete 2026 stream, with WHDH-TV as a local broadcast alternative.
- For Spanish-language Macy’s coverage: Telemundo carried a simulcast in 2026. Check the current year’s announcement to confirm whether that option returns.
- For fireworks without a concert or television production: Look for an official municipal or local broadcaster stream. A fixed webcam may show the display directly, but it may not include synchronized music, commentary, or multiple camera views.
How to watch Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks
Macy’s 2026 national presentation aired Saturday, July 4, from 8–10 p.m. ET/PT and 7–9 p.m. CT/MT on NBC and Peacock. NBC scheduled an encore at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and Telemundo offered a Spanish-language simulcast from 8–10 p.m. ET/PT. The show featured the New York City display; the fireworks launched from the lower East River and lower Hudson River areas that year. See Macy’s 2026 announcement and its viewing information.
- Open Peacock shortly before the scheduled broadcast and search for “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.”
- Choose the live event, not a trailer, clip, or prior-year video.
- If Peacock requests an account or plan, follow the current sign-in or subscription options. The 2026 announcement confirms Peacock carriage, not free access or a no-login stream.
- If Peacock is unavailable, try NBC through an antenna, a local NBC affiliate, or an authorized live-TV service that carries NBC in your market. For Spanish-language coverage, check Telemundo’s broadcast or official digital platform.
NBC, Telemundo, and local affiliate reception depends on market and service availability. The 2026 schedule does not establish the next edition’s platform terms, so confirm them before relying on Peacock.

How to watch A Capitol Fourth
The 2026 edition was an exception to the familiar July 4 date: it aired Friday, July 3, at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT and ended at about 9:30 p.m. ET. PBS listed streams on the official watch page, PBS.org, the PBS app, Facebook, and YouTube. The official website and YouTube stream were free. Local PBS broadcast times varied, so PBS advised viewers to check local listings in its FAQs.
- Open the official watch page and use its player when the event is live.
- If the player does not load, try the official YouTube channel or PBS app.
- For television, check your local PBS station’s schedule rather than assuming the national start time matches the local broadcast.
- If you are looking for a replay, PBS said the video on demand would remain available for two weeks after the broadcast. That window has passed for the July 3, 2026 program, so do not assume its full replay remains available.
The 2026 concert took place on July 3, there was no public fireworks viewing on the Capitol Grounds, and the finale was streamed from Mount Vernon, according to the U.S. Capitol Police announcement. That format is specific to 2026; future editions may use a different date or location.

How to watch the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular
The complete 2026 Boston Pops event was scheduled to stream on CNN.com and the CNN app from 7–9:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 4. CNN said the event stream would be available to all users, regardless of subscription; that access statement applied to the Boston Pops stream, not necessarily CNN’s broader programming. Boston-area viewers could also watch on WHDH-TV Channel 7. Details appeared in the Massachusetts announcement and CNN’s programming announcement.
- Open CNN.com or the CNN app and look for the Boston Pops or July 4 live event.
- Start before 7 p.m. ET if you want the concert as well as the fireworks.
- If a general CNN live channel asks for a subscription, look specifically for the separately promoted Boston Pops event stream.
- In the Boston area, use WHDH-TV as a broadcast alternative.
The 2026 schedule listed fireworks at about 9:15 p.m. ET, but the live event was delayed by weather-related evacuation and other timing changes. For a future show, check Boston Pops, CNN, and local authorities’ updates on the day rather than treating a planned launch time as guaranteed. See CBS Boston’s 2026 coverage.

Finding other city streams without landing on a fake “live” video
CNN’s 2026 Fourth in America coverage included segments from more than a dozen cities, among them Washington, New York, Philadelphia, Nashville, San Diego, Houston, St. Louis, Seward, Alaska, and Kauai, Hawaii. This was broad national coverage, not a promise that every city had a complete, standalone fireworks stream. CNN’s 2026 announcement describes its programming.
For another location, start with the city government, event organizer, local public broadcaster, or a verified local affiliate. Follow a link from that organization to its player or official YouTube channel. Search results labeled “live fireworks” can instead be prerecorded footage, a static webcam, a fan stream, a rebroadcast, or a local display other than the event you intended to watch.

Free streams, TV access, and regional limits
In 2026, the official A Capitol Fourth website and YouTube stream were free, and CNN specifically said its complete Boston Pops event stream was open regardless of subscription. Peacock was the official online route for Macy’s, but its announcement did not establish whether viewers needed an account or paid plan. Do not treat a platform listing as proof that a stream is free.
An over-the-air antenna may receive NBC, PBS, Telemundo, or a local affiliate where its signal is available. Live-TV streaming services may also carry relevant channels, but lineups and regional access vary. International viewers may encounter rights restrictions, and platform policies can change between an announcement and the event. Check the event’s official page for the current year’s account, subscription, location, and device requirements.

Prepare your device and troubleshoot stream problems
Before the broadcast
- Confirm the date and time zone; for the 2026 schedules above, use the listed U.S. time zones rather than assuming every “8 p.m.” is local time.
- Open the official page 10–15 minutes early and test it on the television, computer, phone, or tablet you plan to use.
- Update the app or browser. If the official player fails to load, temporarily disable ad-blocking or privacy extensions.
- Use a strong Wi-Fi connection or Ethernet if available, and close other high-bandwidth apps.
- Keep a second device or an available local broadcast as a backup. Plug in mobile devices for a long stream.
If the stream buffers or will not start
- Check that the event has started in your time zone and that the page is for the correct year.
- Look for a “Live,” “Watch live,” or “Now playing” control; an event information page alone may not contain the player.
- Pause briefly to let the buffer build, or lower video quality if the player offers that setting.
- Switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet or a mobile hotspot, and close other high-bandwidth applications.
- Try the broadcaster’s app instead of its website, or vice versa. Reload only after checking that the event is still live.
- If the official stream remains unavailable, try its official alternate platform or a local over-the-air broadcast. Check verified organizer or broadcaster accounts for schedule and weather updates rather than relying on an unofficial mirror.
Online streams can lag behind the event. If you are watching local fireworks in person while playing a broadcast for its soundtrack, expect the video and sound to be out of sync.
Replay availability after the holiday
PBS stated that the 2026 A Capitol Fourth video on demand would be available for two weeks after its July 3 broadcast; that period has ended. The cited 2026 announcements do not establish an ongoing replay window for Macy’s or Boston Pops, so check the official platform rather than assuming a complete replay is still online.
