Search your TV’s app store for the official iQIYI app, install it, and sign in. If it is not listed, try casting from the iQIYI mobile app or use a supported streaming device or an HDMI-connected computer. App availability depends on your TV model, operating system, and app-store region.
This guide is for iQIYI’s international service at iq.com. The mainland China iQIYI app and 银河奇异果 (Galaxy Kiwi) are separate service contexts; their apps, catalogs, and membership rules should not be assumed to match.
Which TVs and streaming devices support iQIYI?
iQIYI lists Android TV, Apple TV, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung and LG smart TVs, and Chromecast among its TV access options. That does not mean the app is available on every model or in every country. Check the app store on your own device before buying hardware or a membership. The official listings can help you confirm the app name: Android TV on Google Play and iQIYI Video on Apple’s U.S. App Store.

Install the app on your TV
- Connect the TV or streaming device to the internet.
- Open its app store: Google Play on Android/Google TV, App Store on Apple TV, Roku Channel Store on Roku, Amazon Appstore on Fire TV, or the manufacturer’s store on Samsung and LG TVs.
- Search for iQIYI (or iQIYI Video), and check that the listing is the official app.
- Select Install, Get, or Add channel, depending on the device.
- Open iQIYI when installation finishes, then choose Log in.
Menu names vary between devices and software versions. If you cannot find the app, use the steps in What if iQIYI is missing? rather than assuming that every smart TV has the same app catalog.
Sign in on the TV with a code or QR code
- Open iQIYI on the TV and choose Log in.
- When the TV displays a code or QR code, open the iQIYI mobile app and use its scan or authorization option to approve the login.
- Wait for the TV app to refresh and show your account.
iQIYI documents this code-based TV sign-in flow in its international TV login help. Some Android TV versions may also show Google or Facebook sign-in options; use only the methods displayed in your version of the app.

You can also use the official iQIYI TV activation page to enter the code shown on the television. If a code is rejected, return to the TV login screen to generate a fresh one, confirm you are authorizing the account you intend to use, and check that the TV app and phone app are connected to the same regional service. If the page does not complete, close and reopen the TV app and try a new code. Do not rely on a fixed expiration time; it can depend on the version in use.

Cast iQIYI from your phone
Casting is a useful fallback if the TV has Chromecast or another compatible casting receiver but no usable iQIYI TV app.

- Open the iQIYI mobile app and start the video.
- Tap the cast or TV icon in the player, if it appears, and select your TV or receiver.
- Use the phone to control playback.
iQIYI’s support guidance for casting describes the same-network requirement. The cast icon may not appear for every title, account mode, device, or region, and iQIYI says minor mode does not support casting. Guest Wi-Fi networks or router settings that isolate devices can also prevent the TV from appearing. Casting sends playback to a receiver; screen mirroring duplicates the phone display and may have more delay or playback restrictions.
What if iQIYI is missing from the TV app store?
- Check the name. Search for “iQIYI” or “iQIYI Video.” Do not assume that “爱奇艺” or “银河奇异果” is the same international app.
- Check the device and store region. A TV bought in another country, an older model, or an unsupported operating-system version may not show the listing. App stores can also filter apps by device compatibility.
- Try a supported alternative. Cast from the mobile app if supported; use an Apple TV, Android/Google TV streamer, Roku, or Fire TV if the official app appears in that device’s local store; or connect a computer to the television by HDMI.
Changing the TV’s country setting is not a guaranteed fix and can affect other apps, services, subscriptions, or language settings. Avoid unofficial app downloads as a default workaround: they can create security, compatibility, and update problems.

Do you need iQIYI VIP to watch on a TV?
Installing and opening the app does not by itself mean you need VIP. Some programs may be available without a paid membership, while VIP titles and benefits require an eligible plan. TV playback eligibility can depend on the membership type and service region, so check the title and account shown in the TV app before purchasing.
iQIYI’s international help center describes TV membership purchases through platform billing—for example, Apple account billing on Apple TV, Google account billing on Android TV, and Roku Pay on Roku. A purchase is associated with the account used to buy it. Check the international membership help and the purchase screen for your country and device; prices, currency, taxes, and offers can differ. Do not assume a China-service membership or a plan bought under another account includes international TV access.

Fix common iQIYI TV problems
The app opens but a video will not play
- Check the TV’s internet connection and try another streaming app to see whether the problem affects the whole connection.
- Restart the TV or streaming device. If other apps also have trouble, restart the router.
- Update iQIYI and the device’s operating system, then sign out and back in.
- Confirm you are in the intended account and that the program is available to that account in your region.
- Try a lower playback quality if the connection is unstable.
- If the problem persists, reinstall the app or try iq.com or another supported device to determine whether the issue is specific to the TV app.
If casting fails, first confirm that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and that the title supports casting. iQIYI’s support material recommends checking the connection, restarting the router when appropriate, and using the TV app when casting is not working.
Your phone membership works, but the TV says you are not a member
Check that the TV is signed into the exact account used to buy the membership. Different email addresses, phone numbers, social sign-ins, Apple IDs, or Google accounts can create separate account identities. Then confirm the plan includes TV playback and that the phone and TV are using the same regional iQIYI service. A subscription purchased through Apple or Google may need to be restored through that platform. If the TV app has not refreshed after payment, sign out and back in before considering another purchase.
Mainland China membership rules should not be generalized to international VIP. China-service help distinguishes membership types with different device rights, including types that do not include TV benefits; see iQIYI’s China-service membership help. If you see a simultaneous-play or device-limit error, the applicable limit depends on the service and plan. Follow the message in the app or contact support rather than assuming one universal limit.
Can you watch iQIYI in a TV browser or with a VPN?
You can try iq.com in a TV browser, but browser and playback compatibility varies. If video does not start, use the native TV app, a supported streaming device, casting, or a computer connected by HDMI.
A VPN is not required where iQIYI is officially available, and it is not a guaranteed way to make a particular app or title work. App-store availability, account region, content rights, and payment region can all matter; VPN use may also cause login, payment, or playback problems. Use the official app and service available for your location.
