Where could you watch it in the U.S.?
Max
Max was the U.S. on-demand streaming home for season 2. A qualifying Max subscription gave viewers access to stream the episode; a premium plan was not specifically required for the series. Warner Bros. Discovery identified Max as the streaming destination in its June programming announcement.

HBO through a TV provider
Viewers whose cable, satellite, or live-TV package included HBO could watch its linear broadcast at the scheduled time. Check the provider’s channel lineup and account entitlements rather than signing up for a second service automatically.
Prime Video Channels or an episode purchase
Amazon listed season 2 and an option to buy episode 3 on Prime Video. Availability and purchase rights can vary by country and account. If you subscribed to Max/HBO through Prime Video Channels, confirm whether playback is through Prime Video or another app, and whether the episode is included with the channel subscription or offered as a separate purchase.
What changes when watching outside the U.S.?
Max’s travel rules are based on both where the service operates and where the viewer is physically located. Max says subscribers can stream while traveling in countries or regions where Max is available, but the catalog can change with location. Service availability does not guarantee that every country carries the same title or has identical release timing. See Max’s travel and location guidance.
- Traveling where Max operates: Sign in and check the local catalog; it may differ from the one at home.
- Traveling where Max does not operate: Streaming is unavailable there. Max says programs downloaded beforehand can still be played on a phone or tablet while traveling, provided the viewer is signed in on that device.
- Using a VPN or proxy: Do not count on it to unlock a home catalog. Max’s support guidance says VPNs, proxies, and anonymization services can trigger location errors and advises disabling them. A VPN is not a guaranteed or officially supported way to access the service from every country.
For viewers who prefer not to watch overnight in Europe or elsewhere, waiting for a locally licensed service or a later on-demand window may be more practical. Local distribution rights and release timing vary, so check the legal service available in the destination country.
What to do if the episode does not appear
- Confirm that the account has an active Max subscription or a qualifying HBO/provider subscription.
- Check that you are signed into the account and profile that hold the subscription.
- Search for House of the Dragon directly instead of relying only on “Continue Watching.”
- Refresh or restart the app; install available updates for the app and device.
- If traveling, confirm that Max operates in your destination and check the local catalog.
- If Max reports a VPN, location, or “uncharted territory” error, disable VPN, proxy, or anonymization services.
- If your location is being identified incorrectly, restart your modem or router. If the issue continues, contact your internet service provider or Max support.

Because the U.K. and Central European conversions fall in the early hours of Monday, viewers in those regions may prefer to watch later. Avoiding social feeds, muting episode-related keywords, and disabling autoplay previews can reduce accidental spoilers until you have watched.
