For U.S. viewers who need both the live Disney Channel and live ESPN, Hulu + Live TV and Fubo are the most direct YouTube TV alternatives to check first. Both advertise those networks, although the exact lineup, local stations, package, and price can vary by ZIP code. If you only need sports, ESPN Unlimited is a separate option. If you want Disney movies and series on demand rather than the scheduled Disney Channel feed, the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle may be a better fit.
Choose the right replacement
| Option | Live Disney Channel | Live ESPN networks | On-demand libraries | Best for | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hulu + Live TV | Yes, on the listed lineup | Yes, subject to plan and market | Hulu and Disney+ access may depend on the offer | Replacing YouTube TV with one broad service | Verify local channels, plan details, and price |
| Fubo | Yes, on qualifying lineups | Yes, on qualifying lineups | Disney+ and Hulu are not automatically included | Sports-focused households that also need Disney Channel | Package and ZIP-code availability vary |
| DIRECTV streaming | Verify the exact package | Yes; some packages include ESPN Unlimited | Disney+ and Hulu with ads may be included in certain offers | A broad channel and sports replacement | More complicated promotional and renewal pricing |
| ESPN Unlimited plus Disney+ | No confirmed live Disney Channel replacement | Yes | Disney+ and ESPN+ content | Sports plus Disney movies and series | Multiple apps and no assumed live Disney Channel |
Before canceling YouTube TV, enter your ZIP code on the provider’s site and confirm the precise lineup. “Disney channels” can mean the live Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, or Disney-owned networks such as Freeform, FX, FXX, FXM, and National Geographic. ABC is a separate local broadcast network and is not guaranteed in every market.
Disney Channel is not the same as Disney+
The Disney Channel is a linear network with a scheduled feed. Disney+ is primarily an on-demand library of movies and shows. Disney+ should not be treated as a replacement for the live Disney Channel unless its current plan explicitly says otherwise.
The distinction matters most for families that want scheduled children’s programming, live premieres, or the ability to open a channel guide and watch whatever is airing. Hulu + Live TV and Fubo specifically advertise the live Disney Channel; a standard Disney+ subscription does not automatically provide that same feed.

Hulu + Live TV: the closest one-service replacement
Hulu’s current live-TV listing includes Disney Channel, Disney Channel Jr., Disney XD, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNNEWS, ESPNU, Freeform, FX, FXX, FXM, and National Geographic. It also lists ABC and other local networks where available.
Hulu advertises unlimited DVR, with recordings stored for up to nine months, and a three-day Hulu + Live TV trial. Its page says the trial includes Disney+ and ESPN Select access through separate apps. That does not necessarily mean every Hulu offer provides the same ESPN entitlement, so check the exact plan before subscribing.
Best for
- Households wanting live Disney Channel and ESPN in one live-TV service.
- Viewers who also want Hulu’s general entertainment library.
- Families that value a live channel guide and unlimited DVR.
Important checks
- Confirm the required Disney and ESPN networks in your ZIP-code lineup.
- Check whether the offer includes Disney+ and which ESPN tier is provided.
- Confirm local ABC availability before assuming you will receive every ABC broadcast.
Fubo: a strong sports-oriented alternative
Fubo advertises live Disney Channel and live ESPN. Its ESPN page also describes cloud DVR, no contracts, broad device support, and a lineup that can exceed 200 channels, although the actual package varies by plan and location.

Fubo says eligible customers can activate ESPN Unlimited through a qualifying Fubo account. That activation may be separate from watching ESPN inside the Fubo app.

- Sports-heavy households that also need Disney Channel.
- Viewers who want cloud DVR and a broad live sports lineup.
- People who prefer a no-contract live-TV service.
Watch for
- Do not assume every Fubo package includes the standard English-language ESPN networks.
- Check local ABC and regional sports availability by ZIP code.
- Fubo’s live lineup does not automatically equal the Disney+ or Hulu on-demand libraries.
DIRECTV streaming: broader, but usually more complicated
DIRECTV’s streaming service is worth considering if you want a broader channel package or are interested in its MySports offering. DIRECTV advertises ESPN Unlimited with certain packages and offers. Disney+ and Hulu with ads may also be included with particular streaming packages or promotions, not necessarily every plan.
On August 18, 2026, DIRECTV displayed an Entertainment promotion of $59.99 for the first month, a five-day trial for eligible new residential customers, and a Sports Pack promotion that renewed at $14.99 per month after the first month. Its MySports offer displayed $49.99 for the first month, reduced from $64.99, with ESPN Unlimited included. These are promotional figures, not stable long-term prices. Review the post-promotion rate, add-on renewal terms, and local-channel availability before checkout.

ESPN Unlimited plus Disney+: the partial replacement
ESPN Unlimited costs $29.99 per month on ESPN’s current bundle page. It includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNNEWS, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN+, ESPN on ABC, SEC+, ACCNX, and NFL Network.
This is different from ESPN Select, which consists of ESPN+ content. ESPN+ alone is not a substitute for the main live ESPN networks.

The same page lists a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle starting at $35.99 per month. It combines the Disney+ and Hulu libraries with ESPN Unlimited, but it should not be described as a live Disney Channel replacement. You will generally use separate Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN apps rather than one unified live-TV guide.

What ESPN Unlimited actually changes
ESPN Unlimited is the direct ESPN subscription tier designed to provide the broader ESPN network portfolio. ESPN lists Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, DIRECTV, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS, U-verse, and Cox among provider routes that may provide ESPN Unlimited through a qualifying TV package.
Provider access can require activation. You may need to open the provider’s activation page, connect a MyDisney account, and then sign in to the ESPN app. If you cancel or change the qualifying provider plan, provider-supplied ESPN Unlimited access may end.
ESPN says most content can stream on up to three devices simultaneously. Blackouts, rights restrictions, supported-device rules, and market limitations can still apply. ESPN on ABC also does not mean access to every local ABC broadcast.

How to sign up and activate each option
Hulu + Live TV
- Open Hulu’s live-TV page.
- Enter your ZIP code or check the displayed local lineup.
- Select the plan that lists the required Disney and ESPN networks.
- Review whether Disney+ and ESPN access are included in that exact offer.
- Install Hulu on your streaming device and confirm that Disney Channel and ESPN appear in the live guide.
- If ESPN app access is offered separately, connect the associated MyDisney credentials.
If Disney Channel is missing, the selected plan or market may not include it. If ESPN works in Hulu but not in the ESPN app, repeat the provider-activation process and make sure you are using the same account credentials. If ABC is missing, check the market lineup or consider an antenna or another provider.
Fubo
- Start from Fubo’s Disney Channel or ESPN page.
- Enter your service address or ZIP code.
- Confirm that the displayed package includes both Disney Channel and the required ESPN networks.
- Complete signup and install Fubo on your device.
- Watch the live channels in Fubo.
- For ESPN app access, open your Fubo account and follow the ESPN Unlimited activation instructions if prompted.
If activation fails, confirm that your package qualifies and that you did not select a sports, Latino, or specialty plan without the desired English-language networks.
ESPN Unlimited plus Disney+
- Subscribe to ESPN Unlimited directly through ESPN.
- Subscribe separately to Disney+, or select the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle.
- Use ESPN for live ESPN networks and ESPN+ content.
- Use Disney+ for Disney movies and series.
- Do not expect a live Disney Channel schedule unless the plan explicitly provides one.
DIRECTV streaming
- Open DIRECTV’s streaming page.
- Compare the base package, MySports option, and sports add-ons.
- Confirm the exact Disney network lineup and ESPN Unlimited entitlement.
- Read the introductory price, regular renewal rate, trial terms, and add-on renewal conditions.
- Complete signup and activate ESPN if prompted.
Devices and apps
You can generally watch through the provider’s app on supported Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, smart TV, mobile, tablet, browser, and game-console platforms. Fubo specifically lists Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox, iOS, Android, LG, Vizio, Hisense, and other platforms on its ESPN page. ESPN subscriptions support up to three simultaneous streams for most content, according to ESPN, but household and device rules differ by service.
Quick Recap
Common mistakes when leaving YouTube TV
- Buying ESPN+ instead of ESPN Unlimited: ESPN+ content is not the same as the live ESPN network family.
- Assuming Disney+ includes the live Disney Channel: It is primarily an on-demand service.
- Checking only the provider name: The correct network may be limited to a particular package or market.
- Ignoring activation: Provider-based ESPN access may require a linked MyDisney account.
- Comparing only introductory prices: Check the regular rate, add-on renewals, taxes, and automatic renewal terms.
- Canceling too early: Test the replacement first and verify the desired channels before ending YouTube TV.
Bottom line by viewer type
- Need live Disney Channel and live ESPN in one service: Start with Hulu + Live TV, then compare Fubo’s ZIP-code-specific lineup.
- Prefer a sports-heavy service: Check Fubo, including its ESPN Unlimited activation requirements.
- Want a broad package and accept more complexity: Review DIRECTV’s current package and promotional terms.
- Need live ESPN but only Disney movies and shows on demand: Choose ESPN Unlimited plus Disney+, or the $35.99-starting bundle.
- Need only Disney’s on-demand library: Disney+ may be sufficient, but it is not a confirmed replacement for the live Disney Channel.
