To watch Crave on a television, connect the TV to the internet, open its app store, search for Crave, install the official app, then sign in or activate it using the instructions on screen. Crave is a Canada-only service, and compatibility depends on your exact TV model, operating system, region and subscription plan. Check Crave’s supported-device list before buying a subscription or streaming device.
Before you install Crave
- A television or connected player with internet access
- Your TV’s exact model number and operating system
- An eligible Crave subscription or provider entitlement
- A Canadian device region and app-store account
A “smart TV” label does not guarantee support. Compatibility can vary by brand, model year, software version and country setting. The official Crave device page is the current authority. The Canadian App Store listing also identifies Crave as a Canadian service: Crave for Apple TV.
How to install Crave on a smart TV
- Connect the TV to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Open the television’s app store. The name differs by platform, such as Samsung’s app store, LG Content Store, Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore.
- Search for Crave, not a similarly named third-party app.
- Select the official Crave application and choose Install, Get or the equivalent button.
- Open Crave after installation.
- Choose Sign in or the activation option shown in the app.
- Choose a program and begin playback.
Menu labels differ between manufacturers and app versions, so follow the wording displayed on your screen.
If Crave does not appear in the app store
- Confirm that the TV’s country or region is set to Canada.
- Install pending TV firmware updates.
- Restart the TV and its app store, then search again for “Crave.”
- Check the exact model against Crave’s supported-device page.
- Consider whether the manufacturer has ended app support for the television.
- If the TV is a provider receiver, check whether that receiver is still supported.
Changing a television’s region can affect other apps, billing and available content, so use the manufacturer’s regional-settings instructions rather than performing an indiscriminate factory reset.

How to sign in or activate Crave
Direct sign-in
Open Crave, select Sign in, enter the email address and password for the account that owns the subscription, complete any verification prompt and return to the app.
Activation-code sign-in
Some TV apps show a short code and a web address. Leave Crave open, visit the address shown on the television with a phone or computer, sign in to the correct account, enter the code and wait for the TV app to refresh. Do not substitute a generic activation URL; use the address displayed by your current app.
When activation fails
- Expired code: generate a new code in the TV app.
- Wrong account: sign out of the browser and repeat the process with the account that is billed for Crave.
- Invalid code: check easily confused characters and request another code.
- TV remains on the activation screen: close and reopen Crave.
- Provider or marketplace billing: use the provider-linked or marketplace-linked account rather than creating a second direct subscription.
Which Crave plan works on a TV?
Crave plans do not have identical device access. The following Canadian-dollar figures and features were listed by Bell on August 16, 2026; prices exclude tax and can change.

See Bell’s current Crave plan details for the stated restrictions. Some titles may be unavailable on an ad-supported plan because of licensing. “Up to 4K” is a ceiling, not a promise that every program is offered in 4K.

If your smart TV is unsupported
Use a supported HDMI streaming device
Connect a supported player to an HDMI port, switch the TV to that input, install Crave on the player and sign in. Possible categories include Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Google TV or Chromecast devices, but verify both the exact model on Crave’s device list and your plan’s restrictions. Roku, for example, is specifically excluded from Bell’s Standard With Ads plan.
Use a game console
A supported PlayStation or Xbox can run Crave from its console app store. Bell lists PS4 and PS5 as unavailable on the ad-supported plan.
Cast or mirror from a phone
Casting and AirPlay are fallbacks rather than universal solutions. Support can vary by plan, device, app version and digital-rights restrictions; Bell lists AirPlay as unavailable on its ad-supported plan.

Bell, Rogers and other providers may supply Crave through a receiver, TV guide, streaming app or linked Crave account. Provider billing can change the sign-in, activation and cancellation process. Do not cancel and resubscribe directly until you know who currently bills the account, or you could create duplicate charges.

Fix common Crave TV problems
The app works on my phone but not the TV
Check the TV model, operating system and Canadian region, then compare them with Crave’s supported-device list. A phone entitlement does not prove that the television is supported. Also verify that the TV is signed in with the same account and that the plan permits that platform.
Crave says my subscription is not recognized
First ask who bills you: Crave directly, Bell, Rogers, Apple, Google, Amazon or another provider. Confirm the email address used at purchase and test that account on the Crave website. Provider subscribers should use the provider’s linking or activation route.
The app keeps signing in or out
- Force-close Crave and restart the TV or streaming device.
- Update the Crave app and device software.
- Sign out of unused devices if the account has reached a device or stream limit.
- Reinstall Crave if the loop continues.
- Sign in on the Crave website to confirm that the account itself works.
- Contact Crave or the billing provider if the account is active but the TV remains unauthorized.
Video buffers or looks poor
- Restart Crave, the TV and the router.
- Try another title to determine whether the problem is program-specific.
- Test the same account on the Crave website.
- Use Ethernet where practical.
- Check that the title, plan, TV and playback device all support the desired resolution.
Increasing internet speed alone cannot guarantee 4K playback.

Check the title’s audio and subtitle controls, the TV’s audio-output setting and any soundbar or receiver connection. Test another program to separate a title-specific issue from a device setting.

The device says my plan is unsupported
This usually indicates a plan-and-platform mismatch rather than a defective installation. Bell’s ad-plan exclusions include Roku, AirPlay, PS4, PS5 and selected Fibe receivers. Choose a permitted device or review whether Premium better fits your equipment.
Crave stopped working after a receiver change
Bell says Crave support for legacy receivers ended on August 1, 2025. An old channel entitlement therefore does not guarantee that the receiver can run the current Crave app. See Bell’s Crave support explanation or use a currently supported device.

Often, but the account must be linked according to that provider’s process. The correct credentials and activation route depend on who bills you.

Do I need Premium for 4K?
Bell lists Premium as supporting up to 4K. The program, television, playback device and connection must also support 4K.
Is Crave available outside Canada?
The service is presented as Canada-only in the official Canadian App Store listing.
Why should I check the plan before buying Roku?
Bell lists Roku as unavailable on Standard With Ads, so installing the app does not by itself make that plan playable on Roku.

If Crave appears in your Canadian TV app store, install the official app and follow its sign-in or activation flow. If it does not, verify the exact model and region, then use a supported HDMI device. Before buying hardware, confirm that your plan—especially Standard With Ads—supports that platform.
