Use playlists to give bhajan listeners a clear path from your live stream to relevant archives and highlights—and use YouTube Analytics to see whether those playlists are bringing people to your live content. YouTube recommends organizing stream archives and highlight clips into playlists, but it does not promise that playlists alone will make viewers return. Treat your playlist setup as a practical experiment and judge it with your channel’s own data.
Organize bhajan livestream archives around listening intent
Make each playlist useful to a listener, not just convenient for the channel. Group existing videos where you have enough relevant material, and give each playlist a clear, accurate title and description.
- Morning listening: bhajans or suitable archives for a morning session.
- Aarti: aarti videos and related highlights, if available.
- Tradition or devotional focus: group material by a particular tradition or devotional subject only when the videos genuinely fit.
- Full stream archives: collect available complete recordings separately from short highlights.

Make the playlist easy to find from the live stream
Give viewers a direct route to related viewing before, during, and after a broadcast. Link the relevant playlist in the live-stream description, feature it on suitable channel surfaces, and include it in stream promotion. Keep the link and its description specific: a listener should be able to tell whether it leads to aarti, a particular devotional theme, highlights, or available full archives.

YouTube recommends making public livestream archives available to help future streams reach viewers, and says subscribers may find streams in What to Watch Next. A playlist can connect available replay material to that ongoing live presence, but it is not a guarantee of recommendation or return visits. YouTube’s guidance covers these promotional options.
Build a replay route without assuming a 24/7 stream becomes a complete archive
A continuous broadcast is not necessarily preserved as one complete replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local archive backup. For a 24/7 channel, do not promise that a viewer can replay the entire day from one VOD. Live DVR is also not a substitute for a permanent replay library. DVR lets viewers pause and rewind, but it may be limited or unavailable on very long streams, and viewers cannot seek back to before the stream began. Check whether playlists send viewers to live content
Use YouTube Analytics to look for playlist traffic on your live content and identify which playlists sent viewers. Then read that alongside live-content impressions, click-through rate, views, and average view duration. Playlist traffic shows a route into particular videos; returning viewers is a broader channel audience measure. Neither by itself proves that a playlist caused a specific person to return.

Use the “When your viewers are on YouTube” report as broader audience context when planning stream timing. YouTube describes these and related audience measures in its Analytics guidance and audience report guidance.
Compare playlist approaches fairly
If you are testing different themes, titles, or descriptions, compare similar content over similar time windows. For example, compare two archive playlists with similar types of bhajan videos rather than comparing a highlights playlist against a full-archive collection and attributing every difference to its title.

- Record the listener intent and playlist title and description.
- Check playlist-attributed traffic and playlist watch time.
- Compare live impressions, click-through rate, and average view duration over comparable periods.
- Read returning viewers and “When your viewers are on YouTube” as context, not as proof of playlist impact.
YouTube playlist reports include video activity as well as playlist-context metrics. A video can be watched outside its playlist, so not every view or watch-time measure in a playlist report means that the viewer watched it in playlist context. Some analytics are shown only for public playlists that received views in the selected period. Check the definitions in YouTube’s playlist analytics guidance. YouTube also cautions that audience behavior differs across formats; compare like formats where possible, as explained in its content performance guidance.

There is no established universal playlist structure or measured return-viewer lift for 24/7 bhajan streams. YouTube’s official guidance explains the available tools and reports, not a causal guarantee. Use accurate, listener-focused playlists, make them easy to reach, and let your own comparable Analytics data show which routes are useful for your viewers.
