To use Collab Cam in Streamlabs Mobile, create a scene, add a guest layer, share its invite link, and place the guest’s video in your layout. On Android, you can also add your phone’s front or back camera as another layer. A guest can join before you go live or after the stream has started.
What Collab Cam does in Streamlabs Mobile
Collab Cam lets you bring a remote guest—or, on Android, another camera angle from your own phone—into a mobile live stream. The setup happens in a scene: you add a layer, configure it, and share a join link with a guest. Streamlabs says the mobile feature works on iOS and Android using a smartphone, without a computer or pro camera. See the Streamlabs Mobile Collab Cam guide.
Add a remote guest on iPhone or iPad
- Open the Streamlabs app’s main menu and tap Scenes, then Create New Scene.
- Name the scene and select a premade or custom layout.
- Open Layers, tap the plus sign, and choose Add a Guest.
- Enter the guest’s name and save.
- Share the join link with the guest. They should follow the prompts to set their preferences and tap Join.
- Move and resize the guest video in your scene. Tap the gear icon on the guest layer to configure audio or camera settings, copy the link, or generate a new link.
- Tap Preview to check the guest camera. When ready, return to the app home screen and tap Go Live. You can also add a guest while a stream is already live.
Add a guest or another camera on Android
- Open the main menu and tap Scenes, then Create a New Scene. If you do not see Scenes, choose Go to Advanced Settings, tap Continue, and create a scene.
- Name the scene and choose a premade or custom layout.
- Open Layers and tap Add layer.
- Choose Add a Guest for a remote participant, or Add a Camera to use your phone’s front or back camera as an additional angle.
- For a guest, enter their name and tap Add. Adjust the camera layer’s size and placement in the scene.
- Select the guest camera layer and tap its gear icon to configure audio and camera settings. From there, copy the invite link or generate a new one.
The Android guide does not document the same explicit Preview-and-Go-Live sequence as the iOS instructions, so follow the controls shown in your app after adding the layer. Guests can join before a stream begins or while it is in progress.
Choose the right layer for the shot
- Remote guest: Use Add a Guest when another person is joining from elsewhere. Send them the join link and check their position in the scene before relying on the layout.
- Second angle on Android: Use Add a Camera for the phone’s front or rear camera. This is useful when you want another view rather than a remote participant. A phone mount can help hold the device in position, but Streamlabs does not list one as a requirement.
- Layout: Resize and position each video layer so it does not cover the important part of the scene. Preview the composition where the app provides that control.
Invite-link and browser caveats
Share a guest link only with the intended participant. Streamlabs’ Desktop Collab Cam guidance advises generating a new link if an invite may have been exposed; that advice is from the Desktop help article, not a specific Mobile instruction.

A Streamlabs notice published August 19, 2026 reported that some guests joining through a PC browser saw a blank screen after pressing Join. At publication, Streamlabs marked the issue as under investigation and said mobile joining worked in the meantime. This is a dated report, not evidence that all PC-browser guests currently have the problem. Check the support notice for its current status; if a browser guest is affected, try joining from a mobile device.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
- Scenes is missing: On Android, use Go to Advanced Settings, then Continue, and create a scene, as described in the mobile guide.
- The guest cannot find the invite: Open the guest layer’s gear settings and copy the link again. If needed, generate a new link and send that one.
- The guest has joined but the layout looks wrong: Select the guest video and adjust its size and placement in the scene; check the preview before going live when available.
- A PC-browser guest sees a blank screen: The August 19, 2026 notice described this for some guests and said mobile joining worked at that time. Check the notice for updates and try mobile joining if the issue persists.
- You need a specific app or OS version, network speed, or guest-count limit: The cited Mobile guide does not state a minimum version, bandwidth threshold, account configuration, or authoritative guest maximum across plans. Check the current app and plan information rather than assuming a number.
Guest limits and plan claims
Streamlabs’ Collab Cam feature page and its Desktop help article give different Ultra guest-count descriptions, and neither establishes a universal Mobile limit. The feature page describes one free guest and up to 11 with Ultra, while the Desktop guide describes up to four Ultra guests. These are product-context-specific claims; check the current terms in the app or plan before relying on a maximum. See the Collab Cam feature page and Desktop guide.
