To route a YouTube broadcast through Livepush, change the feed path to OBS → Livepush → YouTube: put Livepush’s input server URL and stream key in OBS, then configure Livepush to send the feed to the intended YouTube Live event. The two sets of connection details are different. Test the route and check the event preview before relying on it; the documented setup does not guarantee a seamless switch during an already-running broadcast. The available instructions describe a general workflow, not a special India-specific procedure or tested performance on an Indian ISP.
Before you switch: prepare the YouTube event
In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the event you intend to broadcast. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your planned test rather than assuming it will be ready immediately. This is YouTube’s stated activation window, not a Livepush delay. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains event setup and connection.
- For a scheduled event, make sure you have selected the correct event in Live Control Room.
- Keep the event’s YouTube stream key available for the Livepush destination setup.
- Plan a test or transition window. The documented steps explain configuration, not a guaranteed uninterrupted handoff from an existing live route.
Switch the feed path from OBS to Livepush
1. Copy Livepush’s input details
In your Livepush dashboard, open the live input and copy the RTMP server URL and stream key shown for it. These are the details OBS will use after the change. Livepush’s OBS setup guide describes this workflow; dashboard labels may change over time.
2. Point OBS at Livepush
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream.
- Set the service to Custom.
- Paste Livepush’s server URL into the server field and Livepush’s input key into the stream key field.
- Save the settings, then select Start Streaming.
At this stage, OBS is sending to Livepush, not directly to YouTube. Confirm that the incoming feed appears in the Livepush dashboard before moving on.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
3. Add YouTube as a Livepush destination
In the Livepush stream dashboard, choose Add Destination and select YouTube. Livepush describes both channel connection and key-based destination methods; the exact available choices can depend on the current dashboard. For the manual event-key method:
- In YouTube Live Control Room, open the event you prepared and copy that event’s RTMP stream key.
- Enter the YouTube key in Livepush’s YouTube destination configuration.
- Save the destination and switch it on.
Do not paste the YouTube key into OBS for this routing design: OBS needs Livepush’s input credentials, while Livepush needs the YouTube event key. Livepush’s manual YouTube connection guide documents the key-based setup.

4. Verify the YouTube event before going live
Check that the intended event—not just some event on the channel—is receiving the feed. Inspect the preview and stream health in YouTube Live Control Room. For scheduled encoder streams, YouTube’s directions say to wait for the preview and then click Go live. An OBS “streaming” indicator only confirms that OBS is sending to its configured destination; it does not prove that the right YouTube event is live.
Channel connection or manual stream key?
Livepush documents a channel connection flow as well as manual, event-key setup. Check the current dashboard for the options available to your account. The documented differences are:

| Approach | What you configure | Practical consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Connect a YouTube channel | Authorize or connect the channel through Livepush’s available flow. | Livepush lists this as a connection option; the current authorization steps and behavior should be checked in the dashboard. |
| Manual event key | Enter the YouTube event’s RTMP stream key in the Livepush destination settings. | If the channel is not linked, Livepush says the manual setup must be repeated for each event. Its guide also says this method does not show YouTube live comments in Livepush’s multichat overlay. |
Stream keys act like credentials. YouTube describes a stream key as the stream’s “password and address.” Keep it private; its live stream settings guidance says only a channel owner or manager can reset a key.
Quality, testing and ending the stream
Use a representative test with the audio and movement you expect in the actual broadcast. Check YouTube’s stream-health information and select an OBS bitrate that your upload connection can sustain. YouTube publishes encoder specifications, bitrate ranges and resolution guidance in its encoder settings guide, and additional live streaming tips. Use the current guidance there for your chosen resolution and frame rate rather than treating one bitrate as right for every connection.

YouTube recommends RTMPS where the encoder supports it. The Livepush instructions referenced here describe an RTMP input; do not assume an RTMPS option is available for your particular Livepush input without checking the dashboard. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. Follow the encoder and Live Control Room steps in its setup and ending guide to stop the feed and end the event cleanly.

- OBS says it is streaming, but Livepush shows no feed: confirm OBS is set to Custom and that the server URL and key are copied from the same Livepush input. Check that you saved the settings before starting.
- Livepush receives video, but YouTube has no preview: verify that the YouTube destination is enabled, the event key belongs to the event you opened, and the event is ready to receive an encoder feed. Check the YouTube event preview and health status rather than relying on OBS alone.
- The wrong YouTube event receives the feed: compare the configured destination key with the intended event’s key. Correct the destination configuration, then verify the right event preview before clicking Go live.
- First-time live streaming is not enabled yet: YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours. Prepare and test before the scheduled start rather than treating the wait as a Livepush fault.
- YouTube comments do not appear in Livepush multichat: Livepush documents this limitation for the manual key-based method. Check whether a channel connection option is available if that overlay is important to your workflow.
- Video or audio health is poor: test representative content, check the connection and YouTube stream-health information, and adjust OBS output settings using YouTube’s current encoder recommendations.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded video live on YouTube around the clock rather than route a live OBS production through Livepush, StreamNeo is a different workflow: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay running at home. Each slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.
