You can broadcast recorded coaching classes as a continuous YouTube Live feed by sending them through an encoder connected to YouTube Studio. First confirm the channel is eligible, then create a live stream, add its stream URL and key to an encoder, arrange the lessons to loop, and check the preview before going live. The main planning risks are copyright interruptions, incomplete archives and the fact that a continuous feed does not let each student start at a chosen lesson.
What you need before you start
A recording uploaded to YouTube is not automatically a live broadcast. An encoder must send the video feed to the live stream. For a prerecorded class channel, the encoder also needs a playlist or looping arrangement so lessons continue playing.
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming available. YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says the streamer must be at least 16 and the channel must have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Video files you have the right to broadcast, plus an encoder that can send a continuous feed and repeat your selected lessons.
- The stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. Treat the key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your stream.
- A plan for monitoring playback and keeping a separate copy of important recordings.
YouTube requires live streams to follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Its setup instructions explain how to connect an encoder but do not endorse a particular looping application.
Set up a continuous prerecorded class stream
- Confirm live access. In YouTube Studio, check that your channel can create a live stream before preparing a long broadcast. Complete any channel verification YouTube requires, and resolve any active live restrictions first.
- Create the live stream. Open YouTube Studio, choose Create > Go live, and set up the stream in Live Control Room. Add a clear title and description, choose the audience and visibility settings that fit your classes, and review the stream details before continuing.
- Copy the connection details. In Live Control Room, select the encoder or streaming-software setup and copy the stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private; do not place it in a public class description or share it with students.
- Configure the encoder. Paste the URL and key into the encoder’s YouTube connection fields. Select the recorded lessons and set them to play as a playlist or loop. Check the order, transitions, audio levels and whether the final lesson returns to the first without stopping the feed.
- Start sending the feed, but do not rush to publish. Start the encoder and wait for YouTube’s Live Control Room to receive a preview. Confirm that both picture and sound are correct. Use YouTube’s preview and test access from the channel or watch page, including on a mobile device, before relying on the stream for students. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend previewing and checking audio and video.
- Go live and monitor it. Once the preview is healthy, start the broadcast in Live Control Room if the workflow requires it. Check playback periodically, especially at the loop point, and verify that the intended class is still playing.
Software or hardware encoder?
YouTube documents software encoding as an option and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events. For a straightforward prerecorded loop, dedicated hardware is optional; the YouTube guidance does not say it is required. Compare the operating cost, need for local equipment to stay on, recovery and monitoring needs, and how much production control you need. The official guidance does not promise uninterrupted operation for either approach.

Clear rights before broadcasting lessons
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects copyrighted material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it or terminate it. Review every lesson for music, film or television clips, images, slides and embedded media—not only the instructor’s main recording.
A license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption. YouTube says that when you have a license for third-party content, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm the required clearance with the rights owner before broadcasting. See YouTube’s guidance on copyrighted content in live streams.

Plan for archives and student access
YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, so do not rely on a single continuous 24/7 broadcast to create a complete replay for students. Keep the original lesson files and, if a durable archive matters, a separate local recording. YouTube recommends a local archive backup; see its live-streaming archive guidance.
A continuous feed also cannot guarantee that a student arrives at the beginning of a particular lesson: someone opening the watch page sees whatever is playing then. If students need a reliable start point, a lesson-by-lesson on-demand library may work better alongside the live channel. Explain the schedule and the live format clearly so viewers know they may join mid-lesson.

Understand monetization before building around it
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible under its existing original-and-authentic-content standard. Reviewers may assess the channel overall, including its main theme, most-viewed and newest videos, share of watch time, metadata and About section. A coaching replay may have educational value, but looping classes 24/7 does not guarantee YouTube Partner Program approval or ad revenue. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
