You can turn a library of original children’s songs and cartoon episodes into a continuous YouTube Live program by arranging the videos in a playlist, connecting an encoder or cloud streaming service to YouTube Live, and monitoring the broadcast. Before going live, classify the audience accurately, clear every music and visual right, and plan separate replay videos: a stream longer than 12 hours may not be archived in full.
Plan the program before you start the stream
Build a playlist that deliberately alternates songs and cartoon episodes so viewers encounter a coherent program rather than an undifferentiated loop. The cadence is an editorial choice, not a YouTube requirement. Short transitions or original interstitials can help connect segments when they add genuine programming value.
Decide who will monitor the broadcast and what they will do if the video, audio, network connection, or YouTube stream fails. Keep the source media and a local recording where practical; continuous streaming still requires an operational plan.
Clear the rights to every element
Calling a program “original” is not enough by itself. Confirm that you control the rights needed to livestream each composition, sound recording, animation, character, and other third-party element. Keep licenses and permissions accessible. If a rights holder has licensed material that may trigger Content ID, ask whether they need to allowlist your channel.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can interrupt or terminate a broadcast, and having a license does not necessarily prevent an automated interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Set the audience accurately
A channel built around children’s songs and cartoons is likely to contain content made for children. YouTube requires creators to designate the audience; do not rely on automated detection or choose a setting merely to preserve features. Review YouTube’s audience-setting guidance and set the channel or stream to reflect its actual intended audience.

When content is designated Made for Kids, personalized ads and certain features—including live chat and Super Chat—are disabled, along with other restrictions. Consider these limits when planning how viewers will participate and how the channel may earn revenue.
Choose how to keep the broadcast running
YouTube Live accepts a feed from an encoder. Choose a workflow that can play prerecorded media continuously and that you can monitor and recover when something goes wrong.

YouTube’s encoder setup guide and verified encoder list describe the setup process and list third-party products. YouTube notes that listed products are not made by YouTube; inclusion is not an endorsement or a guarantee of uninterrupted service. No one workflow is best for every channel.
Set up and start the YouTube Live stream
- Confirm channel eligibility. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so activate it ahead of your planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming prerequisites.
- Create or schedule the stream. Open YouTube Studio, go to Live Control Room, and create or schedule a stream. Set the audience accurately for the program.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube’s stream setup and enter them in the encoder. Treat the key as a secret: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Load the playlist and check the signal. Confirm the songs and episodes play in the intended order, then start the encoder and wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room.
- Preview before going live. Check picture, sound, playback order, and the stream’s watch page before starting the public broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend preparing the encoder in advance, previewing the feed, and monitoring audio and video.
- Monitor the live output. Keep a person responsible for checking the broadcast and acting on problems. Verify access from the channel or watch page and on a mobile device as part of your launch checks.
Plan replays separately from the live broadcast
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not treat a 24/7 stream as a dependable complete replay. Keep a local recording and publish shorter standalone replay videos or programming blocks if viewers need to watch episodes later. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Understand the monetization limits
Eligible YouTube Partner Program channels can enable ads on live streams, but ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Made-for-Kids settings also disable personalized ads and several engagement features. YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance explains ad availability; neither a continuous broadcast nor an enabled ad setting promises revenue.
Monetization review also considers whether a channel offers meaningful original contribution. YouTube’s channel monetization policies address repetitive content with minimal variation or value and reused content. Make authorship and the programming choices apparent; simply repeating a library does not ensure monetization eligibility.

Troubleshoot common launch and continuity problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification and whether the channel has a live-stream restriction within the previous 90 days. If live streaming has just been enabled for the first time, activation may take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive a feed: Recheck that the encoder has the stream URL and current stream key from the correct stream setup. Confirm the encoder is running and inspect its connection status in Live Control Room.
- A stream is interrupted after a copyright match: Review the matched material and permissions. Contact the rights holder about allowlisting where appropriate; a license alone may not prevent interruption.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: A broadcast exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Use local recordings and shorter replay assets rather than relying on a full 24-hour archive.
- Audio or video stops or degrades: Check the source playback, encoder, and network path, then verify the output in Live Control Room and on a viewer device. YouTube recommends continuous monitoring; assign someone to respond rather than assuming the feed will recover by itself.
- Expected audience or monetization features are unavailable: Review the audience designation and the restrictions attached to Made-for-Kids content. Do not change the designation inaccurately to restore a feature.
