Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To stream Hindi videos continuously from a Hetzner VPS, run an encoder such as FFmpeg on the server and send its output to YouTube Live using the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. Use RTMPS, choose settings that suit your source and available upload capacity, and confirm you have rights to every video and audio track. A VPS can keep the encoder running, but it cannot guarantee an uninterrupted end-to-end YouTube broadcast.
Before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible to livestream. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours; a channel must also have no live-streaming restriction in the prior 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming access requirements.
- A Hetzner Cloud Server or vServer with a suitable operating system, enough capacity to run your chosen encoder, and network capacity for the stream’s sustained outbound bitrate.
- The video and audio files you intend to broadcast, with the necessary worldwide usage rights, including music rights.
- FFmpeg or another compatible encoder installed on the VPS. FFmpeg’s documentation describes RTMPS support and a real-time file-to-RTMP example; that establishes the building blocks, not a tested continuous-loop command for this exact setup. FFmpeg protocol documentation.
Configure YouTube Live
- Enable livestreaming early. In YouTube Studio, follow the livestream setup flow for your channel and complete any verification or eligibility steps. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. Check the current YouTube requirements before scheduling.
- Create or select a stream in YouTube Studio. Open the live control room and configure the stream. Copy its server URL and stream key into your encoder’s destination settings. YouTube recommends RTMPS, its secure extension to RTMP. YouTube encoder settings.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Do not put it in public scripts, logs, screenshots, or repositories. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Check the preview and stream health. Send a private or unlisted test first, if appropriate, and confirm the expected video and audio reach the live control room before relying on the setup.
Choose encoder settings for your Hindi video
Set resolution and frame rate to match the source rather than enlarging or inventing detail. Your chosen bitrate must also fit the VPS’s sustained outbound capacity. YouTube lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video, up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant-bitrate encoding among its guidance. The actual codec choices depend on the installed FFmpeg build and encoder. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. See YouTube’s current encoder guidance.
| Example H.264 target | YouTube’s recommended bitrate | When it may fit |
|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps | A more modest target when bandwidth or server capacity is constrained, provided it suits the source. |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps | A higher-bandwidth target for a source that benefits from the additional resolution. |
These are YouTube recommendations, not guarantees of quality or proof that a particular Hetzner plan can sustain the bitrate. Leave upload headroom: YouTube’s streaming tips recommend 20% room beyond the stream’s bitrate. Test representative motion and audio, monitor health during operation, and reduce the target if the connection cannot sustain it. YouTube streaming tips.
Run the encoder on the VPS
Install FFmpeg using the package or build appropriate for your operating system, then adapt its current options to the source, chosen encoder, and YouTube settings. FFmpeg documents RTMPS as RTMP over an encrypted SSL connection and includes an example that sends a file in real time to an RTMP server. Use that documentation alongside YouTube’s stream URL and key; do not assume a generic example is a complete 24/7 looping configuration. FFmpeg protocol documentation.

A continuous service needs more than a command that plays one file: decide what should happen at the end of each video, how a playlist advances, and what the process should do after an encoder or network failure. Validate those behaviors with a test stream before leaving it unattended. The cited FFmpeg documentation establishes protocol support and a real-time file example; it does not establish a tested loop command for this particular VPS-to-YouTube setup.
- Run the encoder under a process manager or service supervisor so it can start after a VPS reboot and be restarted after a process exit.
- Keep configuration and logs accessible to you, but keep the stream key out of public files and restrict access to credentials.
- Monitor the YouTube live control room and the VPS process. A running process alone does not prove YouTube is receiving healthy audio and video.
- If continuity matters, test a backup encoder and failover procedure. YouTube recommends testing encoder failover, but a backup reduces only some failure risks; it does not guarantee uninterrupted delivery. YouTube streaming tips.
Rights and YouTube live-stream rules
YouTube’s livestream terms require live content to comply with Community Guidelines, and the provider represents that they have all necessary rights for use worldwide, including applicable music rights. Hindi-language status does not change those requirements. Use only material you created or are authorized to broadcast. YouTube livestream terms.

For licensed third-party live content, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to allowlist your channel through Content ID. A license alone may therefore not prevent an interruption. What “24/7” means on a VPS—and what it does not
A VPS lets the encoder run remotely instead of depending on a home computer staying on. It does not make every part of the route—your software, the VPS host, networks between the host and YouTube, and YouTube itself—continuously available.

Hetzner’s Cloud and vServer service agreement describes commercially reasonable efforts toward 99.9% monthly availability for Cloud Servers. That is an availability commitment with exclusions, including customer software or configuration failures and certain external network problems; it is not an end-to-end guarantee that YouTube will receive an uninterrupted stream. Read the applicable Hetzner service agreement.
Do not estimate ongoing cost from an assumed traffic allowance or outbound rate. Check the current Cloud Server or vServer product, region, traffic policy, and pricing that apply to your account before choosing a plan. The agreement and product information do not establish one universal allowance, sustained outbound rate, or overage price for every plan and location. Hetzner Cloud.

Common problems and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive a feed | Livestreaming is not activated, the stream URL or key is wrong, or the encoder cannot connect. | Confirm channel eligibility and activation, then recheck the URL, key, and RTMPS configuration in YouTube Studio and the encoder. |
| Stream starts but buffers or loses health | The outbound connection cannot sustain the configured bitrate, or there is insufficient headroom. | Measure the VPS’s available outbound capacity during operation, leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and test a lower resolution or bitrate. |
| Audio or video is missing or out of sync | Encoder settings do not suit the source or output, or the stream has not been tested with representative material. | Review codec, frame rate, keyframe interval, and audio configuration; check the live preview and logs with a representative test. |
| The stream stops when a file ends or the encoder exits | The playback workflow does not advance to the next video or recover the process. | Test playlist transitions, end-of-file behavior, service restart behavior, and reboot recovery before depending on continuous operation. |
| YouTube interrupts the broadcast or shows a placeholder | A live copyright match may have been detected. | Check YouTube’s warning, remove unauthorized material, or have the rights holder allowlist the channel for licensed third-party live content. |
Or let it run in the cloud
