You can run a continuous YouTube program of children’s songs and animated stories by creating a YouTube Live broadcast in Live Control Room and sending it from a looping encoder. First confirm that your channel can livestream, clear the streaming rights for every song and animation, and set the audience accurately. What you need before going live
- A livestream-eligible channel. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Enable live streaming ahead of time so any account requirements can be completed. YouTube lists encoder streaming as one of its live methods. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- A rights-cleared program. You need permission for the music and sound recordings as well as the animation and other audiovisual material, for the territories and uses involved. Confirm that permissions cover livestreaming and any archive you intend to keep.
- A streaming setup. For a do-it-yourself broadcast, use an encoder that can play or loop your prepared program and send it to YouTube. YouTube supports encoder workflows, but its guidance does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 broadcasting or provide a native looping-playlist service.
- A backup and monitoring plan. Plan for power, internet interruptions, restarts, and a recording independent of YouTube’s archive if you need a durable copy.
Clear the rights before assembling the playlist
Do not assume that a song, cartoon, or online video is free to rebroadcast because it is easy to find or because you have permission to use one part of it. Check the rights for both the composition and recording, plus the animation and any other included visuals. Keep permissions organized and make sure they cover the intended territories, live use, and archiving if applicable.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party copyrighted material. A detected match can cause a placeholder to replace the live feed; unresolved material may result in interruption or termination. YouTube also notes that licensed material can still be interrupted unless the rights owner adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Resolve that with the rights owner before relying on a long broadcast. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and its Terms of Service.
Set the audience honestly
Children’s songs and animated stories may be directed to children, so assess the actual content and applicable law before choosing the audience setting. The channel owner is responsible for declaring whether content is made for kids; YouTube says not to rely on its automated systems to make that decision. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, set the audience for the broadcast to match your assessment. Do not mark child-directed content as not made for kids just to retain features.

Streams designated Made for Kids have feature limits. YouTube lists live chat and personalized advertising among the disabled or restricted features; contextual ads may still appear. Do not build the plan around chat-based donations or personalized ad revenue for a stream with that designation. Set up a do-it-yourself encoder stream
- Prepare the program. Arrange the rights-cleared videos in the intended order and configure your encoder to repeat the playlist or program. Confirm how the encoder behaves when the playlist ends, a file fails, or the computer restarts; those details depend on the encoder you choose.
- Create the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go live to reach the Live Control Room. Create or schedule a broadcast, choose the encoder workflow, and set the audience accurately. YouTube’s official guidance explains encoder setup at Start live streaming.
- Connect the encoder. Use the stream details and stream key shown in Live Control Room to connect your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube’s live settings and update the encoder.
- Check the feed before making it public. Start the encoder, wait for YouTube’s preview, and confirm the picture, audio, playlist order, and audience setting. Test a restart or other available recovery method before depending on it for continuous operation.
- Monitor and record locally. Watch for dropped connections, stalled playback, audio problems, and encoder errors. If keeping an archive matters, record locally and confirm the recording file continues to grow. YouTube recommends preparation, preview, monitoring, and checking local archive files; it also says expensive equipment is not required to start. See YouTube live-streaming tips.
YouTube’s general encoder workflow does not establish that a particular computer, encoder, or network can stay live without interruption for 24 hours. Plan and test your own restart and failover procedure rather than treating continuous operation as a platform guarantee.

Choose an archive plan that does not depend on a very long stream
YouTube says it can automatically archive a livestream if it is less than 12 hours; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a dependable copy, record locally. You can also divide the program into sessions shorter than 12 hours, while recognizing that a local recording is still the safer archive if the material matters. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Keep the stream running: computer encoder or cloud service
A software encoder on a computer gives you control over the playlist and settings, but continuous operation depends on that computer, power, network, and your recovery plan. A hardware encoder is another option. Compare candidates for restart and failover behavior, remote monitoring, supported output settings, local recording, power use, and total cost. YouTube’s guidance supports encoder workflows generally, but does not establish a model-level winner; expensive equipment is not necessary just to begin.

Troubleshoot common problems
YouTube does not accept the broadcast
Check that the channel is verified, has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and has completed any account requirements for enabling live streaming. Recheck the encoder workflow and stream key in Live Control Room.
The live feed is interrupted by a copyright match
Review the affected music and visuals against your permissions. Contact the rights owner about the relevant use and, where licensed content is involved, ask whether the channel can be added to the Content ID allowlist. Do not assume a license alone prevents automated interruption.

The picture or sound is wrong
Inspect the encoder preview before going public. Confirm that the intended files are playing, audio is present and at a usable level, and the playlist advances and repeats as expected. Monitor the broadcast after launch; a successful preview is not a substitute for ongoing checks.
The encoder or connection stops
Check the encoder’s error status, local power, and internet connection. Restart the encoder or broadcast using your tested recovery procedure, then verify the feed in Live Control Room. A single encoder setup does not itself guarantee 24/7 continuity.
The YouTube archive is missing
Check the stream duration: broadcasts longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Use your local recording if available, and for future broadcasts keep a recording that is independent of YouTube’s archive.
