To relay an Assamese internet radio channel continuously on YouTube, send its authorized audio feed through a software or hardware encoder to a YouTube Live stream URL and stream key, with video included in the outgoing feed. First confirm YouTube streaming eligibility and the station’s permission to retransmit its programming on YouTube. The station’s feed address, format and licence are not specified here, so its technical compatibility and rights cannot be assumed.
Before you begin: eligibility, feed access and permission
- YouTube eligibility: YouTube Help says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. The same help page lists limits of 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key; check YouTube’s current rules before setup because platform limits can change. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
- Station feed: Get the authorized stream URL and its technical details from the station or feed provider. Without them, you cannot know whether the feed can be opened directly in your encoder or needs a compatible input or conversion step.
- Retransmission rights: Confirm with the station and relevant rights holders that permission covers retransmission on YouTube and the territories where the stream will be available. An internet radio licence does not, by itself, establish permission for a separate YouTube broadcast.
Indian law defines broadcast to include rebroadcast, and the Copyright Act, 1957 includes a statutory-licensing route for certain broadcasts of published literary or musical works and sound recordings, subject to its conditions. The Copyright Rules set out notice procedures for that route. Those provisions do not determine whether this station may relay its particular catalogue on YouTube. If rights or territory are uncertain, get advice from a qualified lawyer familiar with the applicable jurisdictions. Copyright Act, 1957; Copyright Rules.
Set up the YouTube Live stream
- Sign in to the eligible channel and open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create a stream or select the broadcast you intend to use.
- In the encoder’s output settings, enter the YouTube Live server URL and the stream key shown for that stream. YouTube’s encoder guide describes this connection; keep the key private and do not share it with people who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Configure the encoder to receive the authorized station audio and send an audiovisual output to YouTube. YouTube supports both streaming software and standalone hardware encoders, but its general guide does not provide a station-specific method for opening or converting an arbitrary radio URL. Follow the station’s feed instructions and the encoder’s documentation for that part.
- Include a video signal in the outgoing stream. A static station image, visualizer or other visual treatment is an implementation choice; the cited YouTube instructions do not prescribe a particular visual for radio.
- Start the encoder and check the stream preview and status in Live Control Room. When the connection is confirmed, start the broadcast using the workflow for the selected stream.
Choose an encoder you can keep running
Streaming software
Software can connect the station feed to YouTube when the computer and software can accept that feed and produce the required audiovisual output. Plan for the machine to remain powered, the application to stay connected, and someone to notice and resolve interruptions. The exact software settings depend on the station feed and encoder; the available YouTube guidance does not establish a universal radio URL, codec or configuration.
Standalone hardware
A hardware encoder is another option if it supports the feed and output you need. YouTube’s encoder page lists the AJA HELO Plus as a device designed to stream directly to YouTube Live, alongside software encoder options. This does not establish that it will accept a particular station feed or suit every setup, so verify compatibility with the station and device documentation before buying.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Plan continuity, recurring broadcasts and recordings
“Continuous” needs an operating plan, not just a stream key. Keep the encoder connected, arrange a way to notice a dropped feed, and decide who will restart it or handle a station-side outage. YouTube’s instructions explain how to connect an encoder, but do not promise uninterrupted service or prescribe a monitoring system.
YouTube’s Live API describes an arrangement where a channel can reuse one liveStream resource for encoder settings and bind multiple liveBroadcast resources to it; in that arrangement, only one event is live at a time. This supports planning recurring broadcasts with reused stream settings, but does not establish that one indefinitely running event is best for every channel. YouTube Live Streaming API.

YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not rely on an automatic archive for a longer stream as one recording; if retaining recordings matters, check YouTube’s current behavior and plan recording or broadcast transitions accordingly. YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Operational checks and common problems
- The stream will not connect: Check that the channel is eligible, the encoder has the correct YouTube server URL and stream key, and the key has not been changed or mistyped.
- YouTube connects but there is no radio audio: Verify the station feed address and credentials, if any, and confirm that the encoder is receiving audio from that input. The station’s unspecified feed format prevents a universal fix.
- The broadcast stops during unattended operation: Check the encoder machine or device, network connection, station feed and encoder status. Arrange an alert or a person responsible for recovery; no cited source guarantees uninterrupted uptime.
- The broadcast is available but the recording is missing or incomplete: Check whether the stream was under 12 hours and review YouTube’s current archive behavior. For longer broadcasts, use a recording and transition plan rather than assuming one complete automatic archive.
- Another person can broadcast to the channel unexpectedly: Treat the stream key as a password. Restrict access and replace the key in YouTube and the encoder if it may have been exposed.
Or let it run in the cloud
For an uploaded recording or playlist rather than a live radio feed, StreamNeo runs a YouTube stream from the cloud: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K at 60 fps for one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and the first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera or an incoming radio feed, so it is not a direct replacement for relaying a station’s live audio. Start the free first day.
