For viewers in the United States, NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube or YouTube TV is the usual way to watch a Buffalo Bills Sunday-afternoon regular-season game carried by CBS or FOX when that game is not available in your local market. It does not include games shown locally, nationally televised games, or postseason games. First identify the exact Bills game, enter your ZIP code in the NFL’s Ways to Watch listing, and then subscribe only to the service assigned to that broadcast. A Bills game that is out of market for someone in Texas can be local for someone in western New York, and a game that is out of market at home can become local when you travel into another team’s broadcast area. Enter the ZIP code for the location where you will actually watch. A residential address, a hotel, a college town, and a workplace can produce different local listings.

When NFL Sunday Ticket is the right service
What it carries
NFL Sunday Ticket carries eligible out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season games that are distributed on CBS or FOX. “Out of market” means the game is not being shown on the CBS or FOX affiliate serving your viewing location. For that specific situation, Sunday Ticket is the direct live-streaming option identified by YouTube and the NFL.
You can access Sunday Ticket as an add-on to YouTube TV or as a standalone YouTube Primetime Channel purchase. The exact purchase screen, billing amount, and promotional terms can change, so check the current offer attached to your account rather than relying on an old price quoted elsewhere.
What Sunday Ticket does not carry
- Local CBS or FOX games: If the Bills game is available on your local affiliate, Sunday Ticket does not replace that local broadcast.
- National broadcasts: A game assigned nationally to another network or service is outside Sunday Ticket’s scope, even if it is played on a Sunday.
- Postseason games: Playoff and Super Bowl rights are handled separately and are not included in Sunday Ticket.
Those exclusions are why subscribing before checking the weekly assignment can leave you paying for a service that does not show the game you selected.
When the Bills game is local
If the NFL lookup says the game is carried by the CBS or FOX station serving your ZIP code, use that local channel through an authorized television or streaming service that includes the affiliate. Sunday night
A Bills game scheduled for Sunday Night Football is associated with NBC and, where listed, Peacock. Follow the network or streaming service shown for the particular game and territory.
Monday night
Monday Night Football is associated with ESPN. A Sunday Ticket subscription does not provide Monday night coverage.

Thursday night
Thursday Night Football is associated with Prime Video. The Bills guide may also identify other distribution details for a particular matchup, so verify the game page rather than inferring the provider from the opponent.
Other national windows
Some games can be moved or assigned to a national package. The NFL’s regular-season access page and the Bills’ official guide are the authoritative places to identify the current network. A game’s kickoff day alone is not enough to select a service.
What NFL+ can and cannot do
Features NFL+ is intended to provide
NFL+ offers live local and primetime regular-season games on supported mobile devices, out-of-market preseason games, NFL Network access, and live game audio for every game. NFL+ Premium adds features such as RedZone and replays, according to the league’s service descriptions.
The out-of-market Sunday-afternoon limitation
NFL Support explicitly says that an out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season game is not available live on NFL+. Therefore, NFL+ is not a replacement for Sunday Ticket when the Bills are playing a Sunday-afternoon CBS or FOX game outside your local market. It can still be useful if your priority is mobile local or primetime viewing, audio, preseason coverage, RedZone, or replay access.

Phone and tablet viewing matters
The NFL’s connected-television guidance distinguishes live local and primetime NFL+ viewing from other features. Check the device rules before subscribing: the league describes those live NFL+ games as phone- and tablet-oriented, while connected-TV access can differ by feature and plan. Viewing from outside the United States
U.S. Sunday Ticket rules do not automatically apply internationally. NFL Support directs international fans to NFL Game Pass International through DAZN, with availability and blackout conditions determined by country. The Bills’ international viewing information can also list territory-specific restrictions.
- Open the NFL international access information and select your country.
- Check whether NFL Game Pass International through DAZN is offered in that territory.
- Read the country’s blackout and live-game terms for the exact Bills matchup.
- Confirm supported devices and whether the package includes live games, replays, or only selected content.
Do not assume that a U.S. Sunday Ticket purchase, an NFL+ plan bought in the United States, or a U.S. local affiliate will work while you are abroad. Rights are territorial. Start with the NFL’s international and regular-season access information and then verify the country-specific DAZN listing.

Step 1: Record the matchup
Write down the opponent, date, kickoff window, and the location where you will watch. This prevents a common mistake: buying a season-long service for a game that is actually national or local.

Open Where to Watch and note every network or service shown for the matchup. If the listing has changed because of a flex or schedule update, use the current entry rather than an archived schedule.
Step 3: Run the NFL ZIP-code lookup
Use the NFL’s Ways to Watch tool and enter the ZIP code for your viewing location. Confirm whether CBS or FOX considers the game local there. This step determines whether Sunday Ticket is relevant.

Step 4: Classify the game
- Out-of-market Sunday afternoon on CBS or FOX: consider Sunday Ticket.
- Local CBS or FOX: arrange access to the local affiliate.
- National or exclusive window: use the named network or streaming service.
- Outside the United States: check DAZN’s NFL Game Pass International offering and blackout terms.
Step 5: Choose a purchase format
If Sunday Ticket is the correct match, decide whether the YouTube TV add-on or the standalone YouTube Primetime Channel fits your account. The coverage rules are the same for the eligible games; the purchase format and account setup differ.
Step 6: Confirm the device and account
Sign in on the device you plan to use and verify that the subscription appears under the same account used for checkout. For NFL+, check the feature’s device requirements separately because live mobile coverage and connected-TV access are not identical.
Step 7: Recheck shortly before kickoff
Open the game listing again on game day. Local assignments, national windows, and blackout information are tied to the specific event and viewing location. A last-minute check is especially important when traveling.

Buying Sunday Ticket for a local game
The most frequent mismatch is treating Sunday Ticket as a replacement for every CBS or FOX broadcast. It is not. If the Bills are on your local affiliate, use that local channel.
Expecting Sunday Ticket to show a national game
A Sunday kickoff does not guarantee Sunday Ticket coverage. Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday night, and other national assignments remain with their listed networks or services.
Assuming NFL+ includes every live Bills game
NFL+’s live local and primetime features do not include an out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season Bills game. Use Sunday Ticket for that specific out-of-market category, and use NFL+ for the features its plan actually lists.

Using the wrong ZIP code
Entering the team’s ZIP code, an old home address, or a billing address in another state can produce the wrong local-market result. Use the ZIP code where the screen will be located during the game.
Expecting a U.S. subscription to work abroad
International rights are separate. Check the country-specific NFL Game Pass International through DAZN listing and its blackout terms before traveling.
Relying on an old price
Subscription prices, introductory offers, and package terms can change. Check the current YouTube or YouTube TV checkout page and the current NFL or DAZN listing for your territory. The game-eligibility rules are more important than a price copied from an earlier season.
Troubleshooting a missing Bills stream
The game does not appear in Sunday Ticket
- Confirm that it is a Sunday-afternoon regular-season game.
- Confirm that CBS or FOX carries it.
- Run the NFL ZIP-code lookup again to ensure it is not local.
- Check whether the game was assigned to a national window or moved in the schedule.
The stream says the game is unavailable in your area
Recheck the device’s location settings and the ZIP code associated with the viewing location. Then compare the result with the local affiliate information in the Bills guide. A local-market designation cannot be bypassed by choosing a different Sunday Ticket purchase format.
NFL+ works on a phone but not the television
Review the NFL’s connected-television guidance. The live local and primetime feature may be limited to phone or tablet viewing, while replays, NFL Network, audio, or other plan features have separate device rules.
You are traveling on game day
Use the destination ZIP code, not the address where the subscription was purchased. For international travel, check the destination country’s rights and blackout policy before kickoff; a U.S. entitlement does not establish international access.
