You can stream an Urdu podcast playlist to YouTube Live with FFmpeg by preparing compatible episode files, supplying a continuous video track for audio-only shows, and sending an H.264 video/AAC audio feed to YouTube’s RTMPS ingest URL with your private stream key. Test the whole playlist in Live Control Room before making it public. This method is for episodes and artwork you have permission to rebroadcast.
Before you start: rights, channel access and files
Clear every part of the broadcast
Confirm that you have permission to rebroadcast each episode and any music, guest contributions, clips, cover art or other third-party material in it. Technical compatibility does not grant those rights; they depend on the content and applicable licences.
Check YouTube Live eligibility early
YouTube’s current guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours, so do this before your planned broadcast: YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
Inventory and order the episodes
For each file, note whether it is audio-only or video, its audio and video codecs, stream layout, resolution, frame rate and duration. Decide the episode order and whether the broadcast should play once or repeat. Consistent source files make playlist assembly easier; mixed codecs or stream layouts may need normalization or a filter-based workflow.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prepare the playlist and its visual track
Choose a concat method that fits the files
FFmpeg offers more than one way to join media. The concat demuxer can avoid re-encoding when the inputs have compatible streams and properties, but a text list of filenames does not make arbitrary files compatible. Inspect the episodes first; if their formats differ, transcode or use a filter-based approach and test the result. See the FFmpeg FAQ on concatenation.
Build the playlist in the intended order and verify that it reaches the expected end. For a continuous loop, confirm how your chosen FFmpeg graph or process handles the end of the playlist; concatenation alone does not mean repeat forever. Exact command construction depends on the actual files and whether you want one pass or a loop.

Give audio-only episodes a picture
YouTube Live needs a video stream as well as audio for this workflow. Use a static episode card or other looping image as the visual track while the podcast audio plays. FFmpeg’s image2 demuxer documentation describes looping image input. Looping the image does not choose the episode order or configure the YouTube destination. Clear the image for broadcast use, and make sure its dimensions and aspect ratio suit your output.
Connect FFmpeg to YouTube Live
Get the ingest URL and stream key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room; create or select the live stream.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream into your local FFmpeg configuration.
- Use RTMPS if your FFmpeg build and setup support it. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection.
Treat the stream key like a password: do not include the real value in a public tutorial, screenshot, shared script or exposed log. Use a placeholder such as <YOUTUBE_STREAM_KEY> in examples, and substitute the actual key privately. YouTube explains setup and connection in its live encoder instructions.

Set output encoding to YouTube’s guidance
Use YouTube’s current encoder settings for the resolution and frame rate you select. Its general RTMP/RTMPS guidance specifies H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate (CBR), up to 60 fps, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). For stereo audio, the guidance lists 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. Video bitrate depends on codec, resolution and frame rate, so choose the matching row in YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate table rather than treating one bitrate as universal.
FFmpeg uses -i to read inputs and writes to an output URL; its documentation also covers RTMP output and real-time input pacing with -re. Check your installed FFmpeg version and available encoders before assembling the command. There is no responsible universal command for unspecified files: source formats, playlist behavior, output dimensions, image asset, FFmpeg build and actual YouTube ingest URL all affect the configuration. Consult the FFmpeg documentation and test your specific setup.

Test, go live and monitor the broadcast
- Start with a private or unlisted test if that suits your channel and broadcast plan.
- Check the Live Control Room preview for the intended image, motion and framing.
- Listen for intelligible, synchronized audio; check episode transitions, silence, clipping and unexpected gaps.
- Confirm that the playlist advances in order and behaves as intended at its end.
- Check YouTube’s stream-health indicators and your upload capacity. YouTube recommends 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate.
- Monitor the broadcast throughout; a successful initial connection does not guarantee that an upload connection remains stable.
YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Check the current archive settings in Studio and verify the resulting recording after the event rather than assuming every configuration behaves identically. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips for testing and monitoring guidance.

- YouTube does not receive a signal: Check that the stream key and ingest URL belong to the selected Live Control Room stream, that the key has not been mistyped or exposed, and that the output protocol is supported by your build. Prefer RTMPS where supported.
- The playlist fails at a file boundary: The inputs may have incompatible codecs, stream layouts or properties. Inspect each file, then normalize the media or use an appropriate filter-based workflow instead of assuming the concat demuxer can join them unchanged.
- The preview has audio but no picture: Audio-only sources need a video input, such as a looped static image. Check that the image input is actually part of the output and that its dimensions and format are accepted by the selected encoding setup.
- The picture appears stretched, cropped or absent: Check the source image dimensions and aspect ratio against the output dimensions, and verify the video stream in the Live Control Room preview before going public.
- Audio is silent, clipped or out of sync: Test transitions and levels across more than one episode. Check the selected audio stream, channel layout and output settings, then retest the encoded feed.
- The stream drops or reports poor health: Compare your available upload capacity with the total audio-plus-video bitrate and leave the recommended 20% headroom. Check the connection and monitor stream health during the test.
- The stream key is exposed: Treat it as compromised and replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before the next broadcast. Do not keep using a key that has appeared in a public script or screenshot.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is an always-on YouTube playlist rather than running FFmpeg on a computer you maintain, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer or home connection staying on. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos; it does not stream from a camera.
