To stream an Indian FM radio feed to YouTube with AzuraCast, use AzuraCast as the audio source, then use a separate encoder to combine that audio with a visual and send the resulting stream to YouTube Live. AzuraCast provides station audio through a mount point; the documented workflow does not establish a built-in AzuraCast video output to YouTube.
Choose the right audio source
This guide’s main path is for a digital station feed already served by AzuraCast. If you mean an over-the-air FM broadcast received on a radio, AzuraCast cannot supply that receiver’s audio by itself: capture the receiver’s output into an encoder-compatible audio input, then use the same video-and-YouTube workflow below. Confirm that you have permission to relay the feed before either setup.
AzuraCast uses Liquidsoap to assemble and transform station audio, while listener-facing mount points expose it in selected formats and bitrates. A station may have multiple mount points, so choose the one that matches the encoder’s supported input format and the quality you intend to send.
Set up the AzuraCast audio feed
- Identify the station and mount point. In your AzuraCast station, find the intended mount point and its listener URL. The documented default URL pattern is
{HTTP/HTTPS}://{BASE_URL}.TLD/listen/{STATION_URL_STUB}/{MOUNT_POINT_URL}. A custom mount URL may override this pattern. - Check access from the encoder. Test that the listener URL is reachable from the machine or service that will run the encoder. Confirm that it receives the expected station audio and that the encoder can ingest its format; support for every mount-point format is not established for every encoder.
- Keep server capacity in mind. Additional AzuraCast destinations or mount points can add sustained Liquidsoap CPU load, especially when audio needs extra transformations or transcodes. Check capacity if you add outputs or change formats.
Choose an encoder and create the YouTube stream
You need a separate encoder that can ingest your AzuraCast audio, pair it with a visual, and publish to YouTube using RTMP or, preferably where available, RTMPS. The visual can be station artwork or a live studio view. Check the encoder’s current documentation for the exact audio-input method; test that it accepts your mount URL rather than assuming all encoders do.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select a stream.
- Copy YouTube’s Stream URL and Stream key into the encoder’s server and key fields. Treat the stream key like a password. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Set the encoder to the audio and video mode your connection can sustain. YouTube supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video, and AAC or MP3 audio. Use constant bitrate (CBR). For stereo audio, YouTube recommends 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. Its recommended keyframe interval is two seconds and should not exceed four seconds. Video bitrate depends on codec, resolution, and frame rate, so use the matching row in YouTube’s current encoder settings rather than applying one bitrate to every mode.
- Start the encoder and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Test with representative audio and movement, and check YouTube’s stream-health indicators before going live. For a scheduled stream, select Go live in Live Control Room after the preview appears.
- When finished, end the stream in YouTube Studio, then stop the encoder.
Clear the rights before relaying an Indian FM station
Having access to an AzuraCast feed—or permission to receive or broadcast a station over FM—does not by itself establish permission to retransmit it worldwide on YouTube or leave an archived copy there. YouTube’s Live terms put responsibility on the provider to hold the rights needed for worldwide exploitation of live content, including applicable music licensing rights. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party material and may interrupt or terminate a stream. Even licensed material may be interrupted unless the rights holder has allowlisted the channel in Content ID.
Before streaming, confirm with the broadcaster and relevant rights holders that the specific station feed, recordings, compositions, territories, live transmission, and any YouTube archive are covered. Verify the India-specific requirements for your situation with those parties; the requirements cannot be determined from the feed URL alone.

Troubleshoot common setup failures
- The encoder cannot open the mount URL: Check the URL, mount-point name, network reachability, and whether the chosen mount format is supported by the encoder. Test from the encoder host, not only from a browser on another device.
- YouTube does not receive a signal: Confirm that the encoder is running and that the Stream URL and Stream key are in the correct fields. Check for extra spaces or a stale key, and verify the encoder is publishing with RTMP(S).
- The preview appears unstable or reports stream-health problems: Check whether the uplink can sustain the selected video bitrate and whether encoding is configured for CBR. Reduce the output mode or bitrate using the relevant YouTube recommendation if the connection cannot maintain it.
- Audio is silent or incompatible: Verify that the mount point itself plays from the encoder host, then check the encoder’s audio-input configuration and output codec. Do not assume the encoder accepts every AzuraCast stream format.
- The stream is interrupted after going live: Review YouTube’s notice and stream health. A copyright scan may detect third-party content; resolve rights and Content ID issues with the relevant rights holders rather than repeatedly restarting an uncleared feed.
- AzuraCast’s server load rises after adding outputs: Review the number of destinations, mount points, and transformations. Additional outputs or transcodes can increase Liquidsoap CPU use.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded programming running as a 24/7 YouTube stream, rather than relay a live AzuraCast feed, StreamNeo is a cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; each slot streams what you upload at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos, not a live camera or an AzuraCast mount-point feed. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
