Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo keep a Telugu radio station live on YouTube around the clock, send its audio programming through a continuously running encoder to YouTube Live. In YouTube Studio, create or select a stream, copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder, then check the preview before going live. First clear the station’s music and broadcast rights: YouTube scans live streams for copyrighted material and can interrupt a feed.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before your planned launch. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guide
- An encoder that can take the station’s audio feed and send an audio-video signal to YouTube. YouTube documents both software and standalone hardware encoders; a dedicated appliance is optional. YouTube’s encoder guide
- A stable, continuously available audio source and an operator or system that can monitor the outgoing feed and recover it after interruptions.
- Permission for the music, recordings, performances and other third-party material in the broadcast, including the relevant territories and online use.
Set up the YouTube Live feed
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, follow YouTube’s live-streaming setup instructions. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement.
- Choose the encoder and connect the audio. Use software running on a computer or a standalone hardware encoder, depending on how the station delivers its audio and how you plan to keep the system running. YouTube’s verified encoder information includes both categories; it does not establish that one is more reliable or suitable for every station. YouTube verified encoder information
- Create or select a stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- Enter the ingest details in the encoder. Paste the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a signal to your channel. Do not publish it or share it outside the people responsible for the broadcast.
- Start the encoder output and check the preview. Confirm that Live Control Room receives the feed and that the audio is present and understandable. For a scheduled broadcast, YouTube’s guide says to start the broadcast in Live Control Room after the encoder is connected.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Keep a plan for checking the outgoing feed, restoring the encoder after an outage and handling any separate broadcast events or archives.
Plan for a true 24/7 operation
Keep the encoder and audio source available
A continuous YouTube feed depends on the encoder continuing to send a signal and on the station’s audio reaching it. If you run software on a computer at the station, that computer, the audio connection and the internet connection must remain available. Decide who will notice an outage and how the encoder will be restarted or reconnected.
Do not treat one long stream as a complete archive
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For a station that stays live continuously, plan how to handle archive availability and any restarts or separate events rather than assuming one uninterrupted 24/7 session will be retained as a single complete recording. YouTube guidance on archiving live streams
Automated workflows have separate stream and broadcast resources
For a more advanced API-managed setup, YouTube distinguishes the liveStream resource, which carries the audio-video signal, from the liveBroadcast resource, which represents a distinct event or video. Its API overview discusses a 24/7 use case where the broadcast is managed while streaming continues. This distinction can matter when automating continuous operation; a beginner can start with Live Control Room and a conventional encoder. YouTube Live Streaming API overview

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Clear music and broadcast rights before launch
YouTube warns: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If it detects third-party material, YouTube may replace the feed with a placeholder and warn the channel to stop sending it; if the material continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a live stream. YouTube guidance on copyright issues with live streams
Having a licence does not necessarily prevent an interruption. YouTube says a rights owner may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. A stream can still be interrupted without allowlisting even when the station has a licence or restricts viewing to territories where it holds the necessary rights.

YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when planning to use copyright-protected music in a live stream. YouTube for Artists That platform guidance does not determine the permissions your station needs. Check the station’s actual catalogue, agreements, territories and intended uses with the relevant rights holders or advisers before broadcasting.
Choose an encoder approach
| Approach | What to consider |
|---|---|
| Software encoder | Useful if the station already has a computer that can run continuously. Consider how the audio feed enters the computer and who will monitor and restart the encoder after an interruption. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | An optional dedicated appliance. Consider whether its operating model and recovery behavior justify the additional equipment cost for your station. YouTube documents hardware encoders but does not provide a general reliability ranking. |
YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive among verified encoders, but that listing alone does not establish current pricing, suitability for a small station or availability in your region. Verify those details before choosing a commercial service. YouTube verified encoder information

Troubleshoot common interruptions
- Live Control Room is not receiving a preview: Check that the encoder is running and that its server URL and stream key match the stream selected in YouTube Studio. Keep the key private; if you suspect it has been exposed, replace it in Studio and update the encoder.
- The feed stops after starting: Check whether the encoder, computer, audio source or network connection has stopped sending. Restore the signal and confirm that Live Control Room receives it again.
- YouTube displays a copyright warning or placeholder: Stop sending the flagged content and contact the relevant rights holder. If the station has permission, ask the owner whether the channel must be added to the Content ID allowlist.
- The archive is incomplete or unavailable: YouTube’s automatic archive handling applies to streams under 12 hours. Plan archive handling around that limit rather than relying on a single continuous session to produce a complete recording.
- Live streaming is not yet available on the channel: Complete YouTube’s enablement steps and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
