To stream a Hindi bhajan playlist continuously on YouTube Live, send a repeating media source from an encoder to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. A YouTube playlist by itself does not create a live broadcast. First confirm you have permission to stream every recording, then prepare and test the loop, connect it with your YouTube stream key, and start the broadcast.

Before you set up the stream

Confirm that the channel can go live

YouTube’s current eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. You must be at least 16 years old to live stream. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it and test well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Clear rights to both the composition and recording

You are responsible for having the necessary rights for live and archived content, including music licensing rights. A bhajan’s devotional or traditional status does not establish that a particular recording is free to rebroadcast: the composition and a modern performance or sound recording may have separate rights. Get permission covering the specific recording and the intended live and archive use. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility for those rights on the creator.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may replace the video with a placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. Even if you have a license, a stream can be interrupted when the rightsholder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting when needed, and keep written permissions and any relevant instructions available. See YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming restrictions.

Set up the Hindi bhajan loop

  1. Choose an encoder workflow. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. A pre-arranged playlist with a visual background is best handled as an encoder feed; YouTube supports encoder-based live streaming as well as webcam and mobile workflows. Review YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
  2. Create or schedule the live stream. In Live Control Room, use the Stream tab to set up an immediate broadcast, or open Manage to schedule one. Add the title, description, visibility, and other stream details. Scheduling lets you share the event in advance; see YouTube’s guide to scheduling a live stream.
  3. Copy the stream URL and key. In Live Control Room, copy the YouTube stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder.
  4. Build the repeating media source in your encoder. Add the authorized bhajan audio and any visual you plan to show, then configure the encoder’s media source or playlist to repeat continuously. The repeat control varies by encoder; YouTube does not provide a universal playlist-repeat setup for this workflow. Do not assume that making a playlist on YouTube will feed it into a live stream.
  5. Rehearse before going public. Start the encoder output and check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that audio plays, the visual is correct, and the loop moves from one track to the next without pausing or stopping. Use a private or unlisted rehearsal with authorized material, and watch for stream-health warnings and copyright notices. A rehearsal does not guarantee that later streams will avoid rights claims.
  6. Start the broadcast. Once the preview is visible and the feed is ready, use Live Control Room to go live if the workflow requires it. Monitor stream health and rights notices during the broadcast so you can respond to warnings or interruptions.

Plan the stream length and archive

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not count on a broadcast longer than 12 hours being archived in full. If you need a complete recording, plan a shorter stream and restart it, or preserve a separate recording that you are authorized to keep and use. An archive is still a use of the music, so make sure your permissions cover it.

Common problems and fixes

  • The live stream is not receiving video or audio: Check that the encoder is sending output, that its stream URL and key match the event in Live Control Room, and that the correct audio and visual sources are active. If the key was reset, replace the old one in the encoder.
  • The playlist stops or pauses between bhajans: The repeat behavior is controlled by the encoder’s media source, not by creating a YouTube playlist. Check the encoder-specific repeat setting and rehearse track transitions in the preview before scheduling a public stream.
  • YouTube displays a copyright warning or interrupts the stream: Review the notice and contact the relevant rights holder. Confirm that your permission covers the exact recording and live use, and ask whether the channel must be allowlisted through Content ID. A license alone may not prevent an automated interruption if allowlisting is needed.
  • The channel cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification and whether a live-stream restriction falls within YouTube’s 90-day eligibility lookback. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours and test again before the event.
  • The stream is longer than the archive window: Do not assume YouTube will preserve the full broadcast beyond 12 hours. End and restart on a planned schedule or make a separate authorized recording.
