You can run a misty forest ambience video continuously on YouTube Live by sending a prepared video-and-audio feed through an encoder and linking that encoder to a YouTube stream key. First confirm the channel can go live and that you have rights to every image and sound; then test the full loop and plan how you will handle interruptions. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but its guidance does not promise a complete archive for a single 24-hour broadcast.
Before you set up the stream
Check channel eligibility
YouTube requires the channel to be verified and not subject to a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. The person streaming must be at least 16. If this is the first time the channel is enabled for live streaming, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours. Prepare material you can use
Choose a finished misty-forest video and ambience soundtrack. Ideally, record or create both yourself. If you use commissioned, purchased, or otherwise licensed footage or audio, check that the permission covers the live broadcast and any archive, and keep the license or permission record. A license does not necessarily stop YouTube from interrupting a live stream after a Content ID match; for licensed third-party content, ask the rights holder whether they can add your channel to their Content ID allowlist.
Choose an encoder and plan for continuity
YouTube supports both software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Software can suit a general-purpose computer workflow; hardware is a dedicated appliance option, not a requirement. Check that your chosen encoder works with your source files and can keep sending the feed for the periods you intend to stream. The YouTube setup instructions do not establish a guaranteed uninterrupted 24/7 configuration or prescribe a restart schedule.

Create the YouTube Live stream and connect your encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create a stream or select an existing one, following the steps shown for that stream. YouTube notes that reusing a stream can reload earlier settings, including its stream key.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. Enter both in the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it, include it in a video, or share it with anyone who should not be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Load the video and ambience audio in the encoder. Configure the encoder to send the combined feed. The right settings depend on your source, encoder, and connection; the cited YouTube instructions do not prescribe a tested resolution, bitrate, or keyframe interval for a misty forest scene, so do not assume one universal setting.
- Start sending the feed and check the preview. In Live Control Room, confirm that YouTube is receiving the stream and review the available stream-health information. Check that the video is moving as intended and that the ambience is audible and not clipped or unexpectedly silent.
- Complete the go-live action in Live Control Room. Sending a feed from the encoder and making the stream live are distinct parts of the workflow. Follow the control-room prompt for the stream you created.
- Test the entire loop before sharing the live page. Check the transition from the end of the video back to the beginning, audio continuity, and any transitions or gaps. A short test can reveal playback problems, but it cannot establish that a setup will run without interruption for a full day.
Plan the 24/7 schedule and archive carefully
YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not promise a complete archive from a single broadcast lasting 24 hours or longer. If you need an archive, plan around the under-12-hour condition and verify what appears in your channel after each broadcast; the cited instructions do not prescribe an ideal restart interval or guarantee archive behavior outside that condition.
Continuous operation also depends on the source and the system sending it. A power loss, network failure, computer or encoder problem, or source-playback failure can stop the feed. Decide who will notice an interruption and how they will restart the encoder and check Live Control Room. This is operational planning, not a YouTube uptime guarantee.

Clear copyright separately from monetization
Rights cover both the picture and the sound
YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility on the creator to have the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights. Clear the forest footage, recordings, music, and other sounds used in the stream. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder, and persistent use can interrupt or terminate it. An archive may also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast. For licensed material, ask the owner about allowlisting your channel through Content ID. See Copyright issues with live streams.
Having rights does not guarantee monetization
Copyright permission and YouTube Partner Program eligibility are separate questions. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams and expects content to be original and authentic. Its policy, updated July 15, 2025, identifies repetitive or mass-produced material as “inauthentic content”; highly repetitive, templated, or minimally varied content may not be eligible. Owning or licensing a forest recording does not by itself establish that a channel or stream qualifies. YouTube assesses the content and channel under its channel monetization policies; these rules do not determine whether every ambience stream qualifies or is barred.
