You can keep a kirtan channel live on YouTube without leaving a computer or OBS running: prepare a rights-cleared playlist or long recording, connect a cloud relay to YouTube Live with the current ingest URL and stream key, then test the feed and plan separately for recording and recovery. The relay handles playback and delivery from its cloud infrastructure; it does not grant music rights or guarantee that YouTube will preserve a continuous 24/7 archive.
What you need before you start
- An eligible YouTube channel. YouTube says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old. Check current eligibility in YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- Permission for the actual media. Confirm rights for each sound recording, composition, performance, and visual in the relevant territories and for both the live broadcast and any archive you retain.
- A prepared program. Use an authorized playlist or long-form video, and check that audio does not clip, disappear, or jump at transitions and loop boundaries.
- A cloud relay that fits the job. Verify continuous playback, supported file and audio formats, YouTube RTMPS support, reconnect behavior, storage limits, security, alerting, archive options, and current terms with the provider.
Encoder streaming is the appropriate YouTube route when the program is prepared externally or needs an overlay. The relay is the encoder-side sender: it plays your media and sends the feed to YouTube. A provider may describe its service as looping uploaded video over RTMP from cloud servers, but that is a vendor claim, not independent evidence of reliability.
Prepare and clear the kirtan program
Check recordings, compositions, and visuals separately
Devotional or traditional subject matter does not automatically make a particular recording free to use. A performance, arrangement, sound recording, composition, or visual may have different rights holders. Keep written permissions and licenses, and verify that they cover the territories and uses you need, including livestreaming and any replay archive.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can interrupt or terminate a broadcast; even licensed material may need to be allowlisted by the rights owner for the channel before the stream. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the content provider to hold the necessary rights, including music rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. If a rights owner uses Content ID, request allowlisting before going live; do not assume that a license alone prevents an automated interruption.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Build a continuous, listenable sequence
Assemble your playlist or long-form program and decide what viewers will see: a static image, authorized artwork with motion, or other cleared visuals. Listen through the transitions and the point where the playlist loops. Confirm that playback remains audible, levels are consistent, and the feed does not go silent between items. These are practical production checks, not kirtan-specific rules set by YouTube.
Connect the relay to YouTube Live
- Verify access. In YouTube Studio, confirm the channel is verified and eligible for live streaming, with no active restriction that blocks the broadcast.
- Create or open the stream in YouTube Studio. Use the encoder workflow and locate the stream’s current server or ingest URL and stream key. Follow the connection details shown for that stream rather than copying an endpoint from an old tutorial.
- Choose RTMPS when supported. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which tunnels RTMP through SSL/TLS; its RTMPS ingest guidance documents port 443. Use the exact server and connection details provided in Studio or the official API, and confirm the relay supports the selected connection.
- Protect the stream key. Enter it only in the relay’s private destination settings. Do not publish it or treat it like a public channel URL. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the relay.
- Configure the relay. Upload or select the playlist, set YouTube as the destination, enter the current connection details, and verify the provider supports the media format and continuous playback you intend to use.
- Test before public launch. Run an unlisted or otherwise controlled test. Check YouTube’s preview, audio and picture, stream health, rights status, and whether the watch page behaves as intended. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring encoder streams.
Use YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance for supported codecs and encoding recommendations. YouTube recommends constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. Match the actual settings to the relay’s capabilities and test them; a generic profile is not a substitute for checking the resulting stream.

Keep the broadcast reliable
Ask what happens when a connection drops
Before relying on a relay, ask its operator how it detects a stopped feed, how it reconnects to YouTube, what happens if the source file or playlist fails, whether it sends outage alerts, and how incident recovery works. Confirm its continuous-runtime terms and any storage, bandwidth, or authorization limits. Do not assume that a cloud-hosted sender is fault-proof simply because your home computer is no longer involved.
Monitor the live feed and test recovery
Check YouTube’s stream health and preview after launch, and periodically verify that both audio and video remain present. If you configure a backup encoder or second sending path, test the failover before depending on it and account for both streams when estimating network capacity. For a locally generated feed, YouTube recommends upload bandwidth headroom of 20% beyond the total stream bitrate; include primary and backup encoders in that estimate. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

YouTube’s event-oriented tips suggest setting up an encoder at least two hours ahead and starting it at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event. Those are planning recommendations for events, not a special runtime requirement or guarantee for a continuous relay.
Plan a separate archive
Do not count on YouTube to retain a single uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends making a local archive backup; see YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Decide before launch whether the relay can record and export a backup, whether you will use a separate recorder, or whether you will divide programming into shorter broadcasts. Check that the chosen recording path actually produces files you can retrieve and retain. YouTube does not prescribe a particular drive, capacity, or recording product; size storage to your bitrate and retention needs.
