Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo stream a 24/7 Himalayan ambience video on YouTube, send a continuous video-and-audio feed from an encoder; uploading a long video and pressing loop in YouTube is not enough. You can run the encoder on a dedicated computer or use a cloud service. Before you start, confirm live access, clear the rights to every image and sound, and test the stream at the quality your internet connection can sustain.
What you need for a continuous YouTube stream
An encoder sends your prepared video and audio to YouTube as a live broadcast. YouTube supports encoder streaming for setups that use external video or audio and overlays. The source can be a recording of Himalayan landscapes with ambient sound, but the encoder—not a YouTube playback loop—must keep sending the feed.
- A YouTube channel eligible to stream live.
- Original or properly licensed footage and audio cleared for live use and any intended replay.
- An encoder workflow: a computer that stays powered and connected, or a hosted encoder service you have evaluated.
- A stable upload connection, tested at the resolution and frame rate you plan to use.
- A plan for monitoring interruptions and, if a complete replay matters, making a separate local recording.
Check YouTube live access before preparing the broadcast
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its general guidance also says live streamers must be at least 16. Enable live streaming and allow time for setup before the intended launch; do not wait until broadcast time to discover that the channel cannot go live. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
Clear the Himalayan footage and ambience audio
Use footage and sound you created or have permission to use for the live broadcast and any archive or later publication. Keep copies of licenses and permission records. A license does not necessarily prevent YouTube from interrupting a live stream: YouTube advises creators using licensed content to ask the rights owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the broadcast with a placeholder, warn you, and interrupt or terminate the stream if the content remains. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a live stream. Check the scope of any license—including live use, territory, duration, and Content ID handling—with the rights holder. Do not assume a stock clip, ambient recording, or track labeled “royalty-free” is automatically cleared for this use. Read YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance and the YouTube Terms of Service.
Choose an encoder approach
Run an encoder on a dedicated computer
This gives you direct control over the source media and any scenes or overlays. The computer must remain powered, connected to the internet, and able to keep sending the stream. A power, network, software, or media failure can stop the broadcast; arrange monitoring so someone can notice and respond.

Use a hosted encoder for unattended operation
A hosted service can move the continuous streaming workload off your home computer, but “cloud” does not by itself guarantee reliability or recovery. Before relying on a service, check its supported input formats and quality, how it handles stream interruptions, what alerts it provides, its storage limits, and its billing terms. Keep YouTube’s separate archive limits in mind regardless of which encoder approach you use.
Set the stream quality and encoder settings
YouTube recommends testing your upload bitrate and choosing a bitrate suited to the resolution and frame rate. The following are YouTube’s published H.264 recommendations, not a guarantee that your internet connection can sustain them:

| H.264 video format | YouTube recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
| 240p–720p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps |
Use these additional encoder settings as a baseline, following YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance:
- Protocol: RTMPS is recommended.
- Bitrate control: constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: set a two-second interval; do not exceed four seconds.
- Video codec: H.264, H.265, or AV1 are listed options in YouTube’s guidance.
- Audio codec: AAC or MP3.
Measure your upload connection and leave headroom for normal variation and other household or office traffic. If the connection cannot reliably sustain the chosen settings, lower the resolution or frame rate rather than aiming for the highest quality and risking interruptions. The selected bitrate and codec recommendations describe encoder output; they do not make an unstable connection reliable.

Prepare, test, and start the broadcast
- Prepare the source. Assemble the Himalayan video and ambient audio you have rights to use. Check that the footage and sound continue cleanly at the loop point, or prepare a playlist of cleared recordings if you want variety.
- Set up the live event in YouTube. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and choose the encoder workflow. Copy the stream key from the live control room into your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly, and reset it if exposed.
- Configure the encoder. Select RTMPS and the chosen video and audio codecs, set CBR, apply a two-second keyframe interval, and enter a bitrate suited to the selected resolution and frame rate. Confirm the source is playing and the encoder is sending to the correct YouTube event.
- Run a representative test. YouTube advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.” Check the YouTube preview, stream health, audio level, image quality, and any warnings before relying on the feed.
- Start and monitor. Once the preview and health indicators look sound, start the event in YouTube Studio if the workflow requires it. Keep an eye on stream health and have a person or monitoring arrangement ready to respond if the encoder stops or YouTube reports a problem.
Plan for interruptions and YouTube replay limits
A continuous encoder broadcast depends on the source, encoder, power, and upload connection staying available. With a local computer, a shutdown, software fault, or lost connection can interrupt the feed. Decide who will notice an interruption and how they will restart the encoder. If you use a hosted service, verify its actual alerting and recovery behavior rather than assuming it will recover automatically.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived and recommends keeping a local archive backup. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 broadcast therefore should not be treated as a reliable way to produce one complete YouTube replay. If you need a full recording, record locally and consider publishing shorter recordings or highlights separately. A separate drive can preserve that local recording, but it does not keep the live feed online through a computer, power, or network failure. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Keep originality and monetization in view
Being live does not exempt a stream from YouTube’s monetization policies. YouTube expects original, authentic work; repetitive, mass-produced, or minimally varied content can be ineligible for monetization. A technically continuous stream can still fail a monetization review. Use footage and audio you have rights to, add genuine original value, and do not present copied material or a minimally altered template as original work. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems
- You cannot enable live streaming: verify the channel and check whether it has a live-streaming restriction within the previous 90 days. Complete setup before the planned launch.
- The preview is black or the wrong video: confirm the encoder is using the intended source and sending to the correct live event and stream key.
- The feed buffers or stream health degrades: test the upload connection while the encoder is running, reduce bitrate or resolution, and check whether other devices are consuming upload bandwidth.
- Audio is missing or uneven: confirm the intended audio source and codec are selected, then test levels with the same kind of sound used in the broadcast.
- YouTube interrupts the stream or shows a rights warning: check the matched content and resolve the rights issue with the owner. For licensed material, ask the rights owner about adding your channel to the Content ID allowlist.
- The encoder disconnects: check power, internet connectivity, encoder status, and source playback; restart the encoder if needed. If using a hosted service, consult its error report and recovery controls.
- There is no complete replay: a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. Use a local recording if a complete archive is important.
