You can loop an authorized Marathi Bhavgeet program into a continuous YouTube Live stream with FFmpeg using -stream_loop -1, a real-time input with -re, and YouTube’s RTMPS ingest URL and stream key. The command can keep sending a file while FFmpeg and its host stay running; it does not by itself guarantee recovery from a process, computer, network, or YouTube failure.
Before you stream: clear the music rights
Use only compositions, recordings, and visuals that your channel is authorized to broadcast. Permission for a song’s composition does not necessarily grant permission to use a particular recording. The rights to any specific Bhavgeet recording depend on its owners and licenses; do not assume a recording is free to rebroadcast because it is old, widely available, or culturally familiar.
- Confirm the relevant permissions for both the composition and the exact sound recording, as applicable.
- Keep license evidence and any platform-specific permissions accessible to whoever operates the stream.
- If you cannot verify a recording’s rights, leave it out until you can.
Prepare the program and FFmpeg input
For the simplest setup, prepare one complete media file, such as PROGRAM.mp4, with the audio and any accompanying visual. Check that it plays correctly from beginning to end before starting the stream. FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 loops an input indefinitely; -re reads a file at its native frame rate, which makes file input behave like a real-time source. For a playlist, prepare a continuous input you have tested rather than assuming that a list of separate files will transition cleanly. The example below is for one file repeated indefinitely. It re-encodes video with H.264 and audio with AAC; the actual bitrate and output frame rate must fit the file, intended resolution, available upload capacity, and current YouTube guidance.

Enable YouTube Live and get the ingest details
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live broadcast and obtain the server URL and stream key for the encoder.
- Check that live streaming is enabled on the channel before the planned start. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until launch time.
- Keep the stream key private. Do not put a real key in public scripts, screenshots, or shared documents. Replace it if it is exposed; the exact key-rotation steps are not covered here.
YouTube’s encoder setup guidance covers the credential workflow and activation timing in its guide to creating a live stream with an encoder. The stream key is a publishing credential, not just a label.
Choose compatible encoder settings
YouTube recommends RTMPS, H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and AAC or MP3 audio. For stereo audio, its advanced settings list 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps as recommended. Choose resolution and video bitrate to suit your target quality and sustainable upload bandwidth; do not treat one bitrate as correct for every program or connection. Consult YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions before selecting values.

RTMPS is RTMP sent over an SSL connection. Google’s ingestion guidance specifies the rtmps protocol, a valid YouTube RTMPS endpoint and application path, and port 443. Use the endpoint and path supplied for your stream rather than guessing them; see YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion guide.

FFmpeg options generally apply to the next input or output, so input options such as -re and -stream_loop appear before -i, while encoding and output options precede the destination. Validate the command with the FFmpeg version installed on the machine you will use.

Test before the public launch
- Run a controlled or unlisted test using the exact file, encoding settings, computer, and network route planned for the stream.
- Confirm that YouTube receives the stream and reports healthy stream status.
- Listen for missing, distorted, or unbalanced audio, and check that the picture does not freeze or break up.
- Test representative sections of the program, including transitions and the loop point, rather than checking only the opening seconds.
- Monitor stream health during the broadcast. YouTube specifically advises testing with audio and movement similar to the planned content and monitoring the stream during the event.
A successful test shows that this process can send the configured stream under the test conditions. It does not establish that a computer, operating system, storage device, network, or YouTube broadcast will remain available indefinitely.

With this method, FFmpeg must continue running and the host must remain powered, connected, and able to read the media. A process crash, host restart, storage problem, or network interruption can interrupt delivery. -stream_loop -1 repeats the input; it is not a process supervisor or failover system.

- Keep logs and make a restart procedure available to the operator.
- Monitor the host and network as well as YouTube’s stream health.
- Plan how an operator will respond if FFmpeg exits or the connection drops. The guidance cited here does not prescribe a production-grade supervision or failover design.
The YouTube Live API documentation distinguishes the live stream feed from the live broadcast resource and describes a model in which a 24/7 broadcast continues while broadcast resources are handled separately. That distinction may matter to API-based operations, but it is not a ready-made FFmpeg failover setup; see Understanding broadcasts and streams.
Decide how to handle replays and archives
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A continuous 24/7 session exceeds that stated duration, so do not promise one complete YouTube replay for a day-long or multi-day broadcast. If replay availability matters, plan it separately—for example, by deciding whether to run planned segments or preserve a local recording. Check the current behavior in YouTube Studio before relying on an archive for sessions longer than 12 hours; the precise behavior for longer streams is not established here.
