Before building the stream, secure permission for each recording and its underlying composition, check whether the rights holder must allowlist your channel in Content ID, and plan for the computer and network to stay available.
Before you stream: clear rights for every track
Rabindra Sangeet is a musical tradition, not a blanket copyright status. Rights can differ between a composition, a particular sound recording, and an arrangement. Do not assume a track is free to broadcast because it is old, publicly available online, credited, or described as royalty-free.
- Make a track inventory. For every item in your proposed loop, identify the specific recording, composition, and arrangement, along with the relevant rights holders.
- Get permission for the intended use. Confirm that your rights cover a YouTube livestream and, if you want the broadcast saved, archived playback as well. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions put responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.
- Ask about Content ID allowlisting. A license does not necessarily prevent an automated interruption. YouTube says a licensed creator may need to ask the rights holder to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Get confirmation for the channel you will actually use.
YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content. A match can interrupt or terminate a stream, and YouTube says Content ID claims may be made on an archived livestream after it ends. Permission, live transmission, and later archive treatment are therefore separate issues to verify with the rights holder.
Prepare the YouTube channel ahead of time
Enable live streaming and complete the channel verification process before the planned broadcast. YouTube for Artists advises music channels to allow at least 24 hours after enabling live streaming before going live; this is a preparation lead time, not a complete description of every current eligibility condition. - Use the channel whose rights clearance and Content ID allowlisting you confirmed.
- Decide whether you want YouTube to archive the broadcast. If you do, make sure your permissions cover that use and account for possible post-stream Content ID claims.
- Do not rely on a fixed maximum duration or a particular current menu path without checking YouTube’s present interface and account status.
Build a continuous program in OBS
OBS Studio is free, open-source software that can be used commercially under its stated license; it does not grant permission to use music. See the OBS Help Portal. The exact OBS and YouTube labels may change, so use the current interface rather than relying on old click-by-click directions.
- Prepare authorized media. Gather only audio and visuals you have the right to use. Organize the audio in the intended order and decide how the program will repeat. A loop should be checked end to end, including the transition from its last item back to its first.
- Create the OBS program. Add the authorized audio and visual sources to a scene or scene sequence. Set levels so the music is audible without clipping, and check that visuals and scene changes behave as intended. If you use a playlist or automation method, verify it continues through the complete sequence rather than stopping after one file.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In YouTube’s current live-control interface, create or select a broadcast and obtain its stream connection details. In OBS, use the current streaming settings to connect the encoder to that YouTube broadcast. Treat the stream key as a secret: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to stream to your channel.
- Test privately or with an appropriate visibility setting. Check the full audio loop, visuals, transitions, audio levels, and whether the connection remains stable. Confirm that you can observe the broadcast and respond if it stops. A successful test does not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Start the stream through the OBS/YouTube workflow, verify that YouTube is receiving it, and keep a plan for monitoring and reconnecting if the encoder, network, or YouTube connection fails.
A 24/7 local OBS stream depends on the encoder computer and its network path remaining available. The appropriate computer, power backup, audio interface, storage, and internet arrangement depends on what you already own and your location; there is no single purchase established as necessary for every setup. OBS’s Audio/Video Formats Guide discusses supported media formats, but the sources here do not establish one required format or encoding setting for every system and broadcast. Check current YouTube and OBS guidance for settings that match your source media and connection.

Plan for rights, archives, and interruptions
- Rights clearance is ongoing. Keep permission records tied to the exact recordings, compositions, channel, and uses authorized. If the program changes, confirm the new tracks are covered.
- Allowlisting is distinct from licensing. Ask the owner whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist; YouTube warns that a live stream can be interrupted even when the streamer has a license.
- An archive is another use to clear. Decide whether to retain the replay and confirm that the license covers archived playback. YouTube says Content ID claims on archived livestreams can occur after the live session.
- Continuous operation needs a recovery plan. Test how you will notice a failed connection and restart the broadcast. Local OBS cannot continue sending video if the computer or network path is unavailable.
