Use two OBS scenes: one for the property walkthrough and one that captures the approved brochure PDF. Switch between them with an OBS hotkey or the interface, and test the page legibility, audio, and transitions before going live. A separate PDF window is usually safer than capturing the whole desktop because it limits what viewers can see.
Set up separate walkthrough and brochure scenes in OBS
OBS scenes combine sources such as a camera, captured window, display, image, and text. A dedicated scene for each part of the presentation makes it easier to switch without rearranging sources while live. See the OBS sources guide for its capture and visibility features.
- Create the walkthrough scene. In OBS, add the camera or other sources you use for the property walkthrough. Confirm that your microphone is active.
- Create the brochure scene. Open the approved PDF in a viewer, add a Window Capture source for that viewer where supported, and fit the captured page to the OBS canvas. Choose a page or zoom level that remains readable at the stream’s output size.
- Use Display Capture only if needed. If the PDF viewer cannot be captured separately, capture the display instead. This shows the whole monitor, so close unrelated windows and keep private files, messages, and notifications off-screen.
- Set up the transition. Switch scenes with the OBS interface or a configured hotkey. Choose a cut or fade to return to the walkthrough, and rehearse the change so viewers do not see desktop setup or an unintended source.
Check the presentation before going live
OBS recommends testing stream settings and performance before the first live stream. Its quick-start guide covers initial setup and testing.
- View the stream output or a recording at its actual size: brochure text, labels, and plan details should be legible.
- Move or hide the cursor when it distracts from the page, and disable desktop notifications that could appear during Display Capture.
- Check that the microphone remains audible on both scenes and that switching does not mute or cover it.
- Practice switching in both directions, checking that the brochure appears as intended and the return to the walkthrough is clean.
Get permission for brochure pages and embedded content
Before displaying a brochure publicly, obtain permission from the developer or other rights holder. Check separately for photographs, renderings, music, or video embedded in the PDF; permission to show the document does not necessarily establish rights to every asset in it.

YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights for live content and comply with applicable laws. India’s Copyright Act defines “communication to the public” to include making a work available to the public by display or diffusion. That wording makes a public-display permission check relevant, but it does not determine whether a particular stream is authorized or covered by an exception. Read the YouTube Terms of Service and the Copyright Act, 1957; for a specific rights question, get advice from a qualified legal professional.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If detected material remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even licensed third-party material may require the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Secure permission and ask the rights holder whether allowlisting is needed; YouTube explains this in its live-stream copyright guidance.

Choose how to switch scenes
The simplest options are OBS controls or a keyboard hotkey. A wireless presentation clicker is optional convenience equipment: a compatible device may send inputs that trigger scene-switching hotkeys, but no particular model or compatibility is established here. Before buying one, check its operating-system support and whether its buttons send inputs OBS can use. You do not need a clicker to present; use the keyboard or OBS interface instead.

For a live property walkthrough with a camera, OBS is the method described above.
