To stream a recorded podcast episode as a YouTube Live event over JioFiber, schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, send it from OBS using YouTube’s stream details, and test the complete setup before the event. Connect the computer to the Jio Home Gateway by Ethernet if practical, choose a bitrate your measured upload connection can sustain, and keep YouTube’s stream-health view open while broadcasting. JioFiber alone does not guarantee a particular upload speed or stream quality.
Before you set up the rerun
Check YouTube Live access
Confirm in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room that the channel can stream. YouTube’s getting-started requirements say the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the person livestreaming must be at least 16. Check eligibility close to the event rather than assuming an older setup is still valid.
Clear the episode’s rights
Make sure you have permission to broadcast the podcast recording and every element in it that you do not own, including music, clips, artwork, and other third-party material. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist even when you have a licence; without that, a match may still interrupt the broadcast. YouTube explains the risk in its live copyright guidance.
Create or schedule the YouTube Live event
-
Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create a live stream or schedule one for the time you intend to air the rerun.

-
Choose the encoder method. YouTube describes encoder streaming as suitable for overlays and production equipment.
-
Copy the ingestion server URL and stream key shown for that event into your encoder. Use the event’s supplied details rather than guessing an address or reusing a key without checking.
-
Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it, show it in a screen capture, or share it with people who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
YouTube Studio’s screen layout can change, so follow the current labels shown in your Live Control Room. Prefer RTMPS when YouTube and your encoder offer it. RTMPS is RTMP carried through an SSL connection, as described in Google’s RTMPS ingestion documentation.

Configure OBS for a podcast rerun
-
Open OBS and add the recorded episode as a media source. Set its playback and restart or loop behavior to match the event: for a single rerun, have it play once; for a repeated broadcast, confirm the source restarts as intended.
-
Add a visual such as episode artwork, optionally with a subtle waveform or timer. Keep the scene simple; animated elements and other scene complexity can increase computer load.
-
In OBS’s streaming settings, select YouTube or a custom service as appropriate, then enter the server URL and stream key from the event. Select the RTMPS server where available.
-
Set the video and output settings using the bitrate guidance below as a starting point, not a promise that your connection can sustain that rate.

Check the preview, confirm the audio meter moves, and listen for clean, correctly synchronized audio before starting the event. OBS notes that meeting its system requirements does not guarantee streaming performance: encoder choice, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity all affect CPU needs.
Choose resolution, frame rate, and bitrate
YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends CBR, a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and RTMPS. Its listed H.264 recommendations are:
| Output | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 240p–720p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s recommended encoder bitrates, not measured or guaranteed JioFiber upload speeds. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance. Run an upload speed test, leave headroom for fluctuation and other network use, and choose a setting that stays stable in a rehearsal.
-
For an audio-led podcast with a mostly static image, 60 fps may offer little visible benefit. A lower frame rate can reduce the bitrate and processing burden.

-
Choose resolution based on the visual material, available upload headroom, and the computer’s encoder performance—not the advertised speed of a plan.
-
YouTube transcodes incoming streams for viewers, so you do not need to encode a separate version for each playback quality.
Connect through JioFiber and rehearse
Use Ethernet when practical
Connect the computer to a LAN port on the Jio Home Gateway with an Ethernet cable if you can. Jio’s gateway instructions describe a wired LAN connection and say it is faster and more stable than Wi-Fi. This is general guidance, not a guarantee of the upload performance of an individual line. Check that your computer has a compatible port and use a cable long enough to reach the gateway safely.
If you must use Wi-Fi, work near the gateway, use a strong signal, and avoid competing uploads during the event. Test from the same location and under conditions similar to the planned broadcast.

Run a full test before going public
-
Measure upload bitrate on the computer and connection you will use for the event. YouTube recommends a speed test and testing before going live.
-
Run an unlisted or private rehearsal where practical, using representative audio and movement. Check that the episode plays correctly and that sound is audible, unclipped, and synchronized.
-
Watch for dropped frames, encoder overload, buffering, silence, and interruptions. If the stream is unstable, lower the resolution or bitrate and repeat the test.
-
During the scheduled broadcast, keep the YouTube Live Control Room open and watch its stream-health indicators and messages.

What JioFiber can—and cannot—tell you
The available Jio guidance does not establish your line’s upload speed, latency, congestion, router model, or reliability. Plan names and advertised speeds do not substitute for a test at the computer during the time you expect to stream. A successful speed test is useful, but a representative rehearsal and live stream-health monitoring are better checks of the complete setup.
Jio’s prepaid terms search result mentions a 3300 GB commercial-use policy on Truly Unlimited plans, but that does not establish whether the condition applies to your account, plan, or intended usage. If you expect extended or frequent reruns, check the current terms for your specific plan and account before relying on any usage allowance.
Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or change |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not show an incoming encoder feed | The event’s server URL or stream key is incorrect, or the channel cannot currently go live. | Recheck the details in the event’s Live Control Room and confirm the channel’s current eligibility. Keep the key private. |
| Dropped frames or an unstable stream | The chosen bitrate exceeds stable upload capacity, the connection is fluctuating, or other uploads are competing for bandwidth. | Try Ethernet, pause competing uploads, reduce bitrate or resolution, then rehearse again under expected conditions. |
| Encoder overload | The computer is struggling with the selected encoder, frame rate, resolution, or scene complexity. | Simplify the scene, reduce frame rate or resolution, and test again. OBS system requirements do not guarantee performance on a particular computer. |
| Episode audio is silent, clipped, or out of sync | The media source or audio routing is misconfigured, or the source itself has a problem. | Check the OBS audio meter and preview, listen to a rehearsal, and verify the episode source and sync before the event. |
| The stream is interrupted after it starts | YouTube may have detected a third-party content match, or the connection may have failed. | Check YouTube’s Live Control Room messages and stream health. Resolve rights issues with the content owner; a licence may require an allowlist. For network instability, reduce the load and retest. |
