To run Indian music as a continuous YouTube live stream with Ant Media Server, first clear the rights for every recording and composition, then build a playlist in an Ant Media application, add YouTube’s RTMP stream URL and key as a destination, and test the full path before going public. Ant Media’s playlist feature supports linear streaming of prerecorded media and is documented for both Community and Enterprise editions. A working connection does not establish that you have permission to broadcast the music.
1. Clear the music rights before you schedule a stream
Treat rights clearance as a launch requirement, not a fix to try after YouTube flags the stream. For every track, identify the owners of both the sound recording (the master) and the underlying composition, then confirm that your permissions cover the territories where the stream will be available, the intended duration, archiving, monetization, and any other planned use.
YouTube’s Live Stream Terms and Conditions place responsibility on the content provider to hold all rights needed to use live content on Google services worldwide, including applicable music licensing rights. The rights needed depend on your catalog and territories; these sources do not establish a universal Indian music licensing provider or clear any particular collection.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause a warning, replacement of the stream with a placeholder, temporary interruption, or termination. YouTube also says a stream using licensed music can still be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Get written permissions and ask the relevant owners to confirm any required channel allowlisting before launch. Buying a track, crediting its artist, or being able to play it locally does not by itself establish live-broadcast rights.

2. Confirm the channel can go live
Check eligibility in YouTube Studio before configuring the broadcast. YouTube Help’s live-streaming requirements state that the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the prior 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16 years old. These are YouTube rules, separate from Ant Media setup.
3. Prepare Ant Media Server and its application
Install and configure Ant Media Server in a hosting environment that fits your workflow, then create or select the live application that will manage the stream. Open only the network paths required by the publishing and restreaming workflow you choose, and confirm that the server can reach YouTube’s RTMP ingest endpoint.

Ant Media’s current Playlist guide documents linear streaming of prerecorded media, including 24/7 social-platform presence as a use case, and says the feature is available in Community and Enterprise editions. Check the guide for your installed version and test your actual media formats. The available sources do not establish a universal cloud-instance size, hardware requirement, or server price for a particular resolution and audience.
4. Build and verify the continuous playlist
- In the Ant Media application, follow the current Playlist guide to create a playlist and add the prerecorded items you intend to broadcast.
- Arrange and schedule the items into the desired linear program. Check the configured repeat and scheduling behavior against the length of time you want the stream to run.
- Verify each file’s video and audio behavior, including what viewers should see and hear at transitions. YouTube requires the stream to include audio; Ant Media states this in its RTMP restreaming guide.
- Run the playlist in a test broadcast and confirm that items advance as expected. Do not assume a successful start proves the schedule will run indefinitely.
5. Add YouTube as the RTMP destination
- In YouTube Studio, choose Create and then Go Live. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the broadcast.
- In Ant Media’s Live Streams area, create or select the live stream, then choose Edit RTMP Endpoint.
- Add the YouTube destination using the stream URL and key. Follow the installed version’s interface for how it combines or stores those values.
- Keep the stream key secret. Anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your YouTube broadcast. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the Ant Media endpoint.
- Start the Ant Media broadcast and check YouTube’s Live Control Room preview before making the stream public.

6. Test the whole chain before launch
Use a private or otherwise controlled test where practical, and verify the stream from both the server side and the viewer side. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend testing and monitoring audio and video. Check these items before announcing a continuous schedule:
- Ant Media reports the broadcast as active and the playlist is progressing.
- YouTube Live Control Room receives the signal and shows the expected preview.
- Audio is present, at a suitable level, and remains present across playlist transitions.
- Video displays correctly and the public watch page is accessible to the intended audience.
- Playback works on a phone as well as on the setup used to monitor it.
- The channel’s rights permissions and any Content ID allowlisting have been confirmed for the music being tested.
A single successful test confirms only that the chain worked at that time; it does not prove 24/7 uptime. Decide who will monitor the broadcast and how they will respond if the playlist, server, network, or YouTube connection stops.

7. Plan bandwidth and ongoing monitoring
The server sending the stream needs enough outbound upload capacity for the stream bitrate. YouTube recommends keeping upload capacity at least 20% above the total stream bitrate. That margin is a YouTube recommendation, not a guarantee that an unstable connection will stay live.
Monitor stream health and audio/video, as well as Ant Media or encoder dropped frames, CPU load, and network stability. Ant Media’s OBS publishing guide identifies dropped frames, CPU load, and network stability as useful checks; the specific resource needs depend on the workflow and load. Keep rights records and an incident contact or escalation path available to the person responsible for the channel.

8. Troubleshoot common failures
YouTube does not receive a signal
- Check the URL and key: compare the Ant Media RTMP endpoint with the current values in YouTube Studio. A stale or mistyped key prevents the destination from authenticating.
- Check the broadcast state and network path: confirm the Ant Media stream is running and the host can reach the required destination. Review the network rules for the selected workflow rather than opening unrelated ports.
The stream connects but has no sound
- Check that the playlist media contains the intended audio and that audio continues after transitions. YouTube requires audio for this restreaming workflow; a connected video feed without audio may not be accepted as expected.
Playback freezes or drops frames
- Compare the outgoing bitrate with available upload capacity and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- Check dropped-frame indicators, CPU load, and network stability. A successful initial connection does not rule out later congestion or resource pressure.
A music match interrupts the broadcast
- Do not treat the match as merely a technical error. Review the recording and composition permissions for that track and territory, and verify whether the rights owner has allowlisted the channel through Content ID. YouTube may interrupt even licensed music that has not been allowlisted.
The playlist does not continue as intended
- Check the playlist order, schedule, media behavior, and repeat settings in the installed Ant Media version. Test the sequence end to end; the exact behavior should be verified with the files and version you plan to use.
