You can run a continuous Durga bhajan livestream on YouTube by sending a still image and a continuous, rights-cleared audio playlist through a streaming encoder. The image supplies the video; the encoder, stable power and internet, copyright permissions, and monitoring keep the broadcast running. YouTube may not archive a stream that exceeds 12 hours, so arrange a local recording if you need a replay.
Before setup: clear the bhajan recordings and image
Start with permissions, not the playlist. YouTube’s Livestream terms say creators represent and warrant that they have the necessary rights to use live content worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other rights participants. This is YouTube’s platform contract language; it is not a substitute for checking the law that applies to you.
Confirm that you may livestream each specific recording and its underlying composition, as well as the still image and any logo, lyrics, or other visual elements. A devotional subject or an old song does not automatically make a particular recording free to rebroadcast. Keep a record of the rights holder, license or permission, territories, livestream use, and any attribution requirements. If a rights holder uses Content ID, ask whether your channel needs to be added to its allowlist.
What you need for a continuous stream
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube’s general eligibility guidance requires channel verification, no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and a minimum age of 16. Check access in the account before scheduling.
- A continuous audio source, such as a playlist of recordings you are authorized to use.
- A still image you have permission to display.
- An encoder that combines the audio and image into a continuous audio-video feed and sends it to YouTube.
- A dependable operating arrangement: a powered computer and stable upload connection for a local encoder, or a cloud playout service. Either route needs a plan to notice and handle interruptions.
YouTube’s API documentation distinguishes a broadcast—the viewer-facing event—from the incoming stream carrying audio and video. In practice, you create the event in Studio and send it a feed from your encoder; a static image does not replace that feed.

Set up the stream in YouTube Studio and your encoder
- Verify live access. Open YouTube Studio and confirm that the channel can go live. Complete any required verification or eligibility steps before planning a launch.
- Prepare the playlist and still image. Arrange the authorized recordings so playback continues without unintended gaps. Add the still image as the encoder’s video source and the bhajan playlist or other continuous audio source as its audio input. Play through the transition between tracks and check that both sources remain active.
- Create the live event. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live → Stream. Create or schedule the event, then copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s stream settings.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password. Anyone with the key may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in Studio and update the encoder.
- Set the encoder’s video and audio settings. No special YouTube “static image” mode or universal resolution, bitrate, loop length, or encoder setting is established for this exact use case. Use the encoder’s current recommendations and YouTube’s current supported settings rather than guessing at a single setting for every connection and source.
- Start a private test and inspect the preview. Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview for the still image, moving audio levels, and a clean, continuous feed before making the event public.
- Check the viewer experience. Open the watch page on a separate device or browser. Confirm the audio is audible, the image appears as intended, and the event is available to the intended audience.
Test and monitor before and during launch
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before an event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. Its operational guidance also recommends checking the preview, verifying the watch page on viewer devices, monitoring audio and video, and confirming that local archive files are growing. These are YouTube’s published event recommendations, not a guarantee that a 24/7 stream will never fail.
For a long-running broadcast, decide who or what will notice a stopped feed, failed audio, power loss, or network outage. A local encoder depends on the computer remaining powered and connected; a cloud encoder moves that operating burden off the home computer, but should still be assessed for how it handles continuous playback, recovery, monitoring, recording, cost, and media control. An optional always-on computer such as a mini PC is a hardware approach, not a YouTube requirement; check the encoder’s current requirements before buying equipment.

Copyright checks can interrupt a live stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the picture with a placeholder, warn the creator, interrupt or terminate the stream, or apply a strike, depending on the circumstances. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: YouTube advises creators with licensed third-party material to ask the rights owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist.
If a stream is interrupted, investigate the alert and claim in YouTube Studio and resolve the rights issue before restarting. Repeatedly restarting the same uncleared recording does not address the underlying problem. YouTube’s separate live Content ID matching feature is not a creator-side safety checker; it is available only to certain Content Manager partners and has requirements including worldwide rights and exclusive ownership.

Will YouTube save the full 24-hour stream?
Do not rely on YouTube to archive a full 24-hour broadcast. YouTube Help’s “Archive live streams” guidance, checked October 3, 2026, says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube also notes that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for very long streams.
If a replay matters, record locally and verify that the recording is growing during the broadcast. You can also consider planned shorter broadcasts, weighing archive and DVR considerations against the continuity viewers expect. Confirm current behavior in Studio for your event rather than assuming every long stream will produce a complete replay.
