To go live, schedule the event in YouTube Studio, connect an encoder or cloud playout service with the event’s stream URL and key, check the preview, and start sending the feed. For a true nonstop channel, the encoder or service must keep transmitting and you need a plan for interruptions, recording, and music rights.
What scheduling does—and does not do
A scheduled stream gives viewers an upcoming event they can find and, depending on their settings, request a reminder for. At the scheduled time, a source still has to send audio and video to YouTube, and the stream must be started. Scheduling alone neither supplies the aarti content nor restarts a feed after a failure. YouTube’s workflow uses an encoder to send the stream to Live Control Room (YouTube encoder setup).
For a channel intended to remain live around the clock, distinguish the event from the playout system: YouTube hosts the live event, while your software, hardware, or cloud service supplies the continuing feed. Google’s Live Streaming API documentation recognizes a 24/7 feed as a use case, but that is not a promise of uninterrupted service or automatic restart after an outage (YouTube Live Streaming API).
Before you schedule the first aarti stream
Enable live streaming early
Your channel must be verified and must not have live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable live streaming well before the intended launch (YouTube live-streaming setup).

Confirm the rights to every element
Check permission for the specific recording and performance, backing track, images, and any venue or broadcast permissions that apply. Religious subject matter does not itself grant rights to a particular recording. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can cause a placeholder to replace the feed, and if the material continues, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. Even licensed content may require the rights holder to add your channel to a Content ID allowlist (YouTube copyright guidance for live streams).
YouTube’s livestream terms say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” The provider is responsible for having the necessary rights (YouTube livestream terms).

Schedule the event in YouTube Studio
- Open the live control area: In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live, then open the Manage tab. Choose the option to schedule a stream.
- Set up the event: Enter a clear title and description, choose visibility, and set the event’s date and time. Review the stream settings before saving. The event can appear as upcoming so viewers can discover it and request a reminder (YouTube encoder setup; YouTube live stream settings).
- Keep the event details useful: Explain whether the feed is a live ceremony, a scheduled devotional program, or a continuous playback stream, and state the time zone when giving a start time. Do not imply that the event itself will start without a transmitting source.
Connect an encoder and go live
Choose a source that can keep sending the feed
YouTube supports software and hardware encoders. Software encoding can be suitable for a simple devotional feed; a hardware encoder is an option for a dedicated setup, not a requirement for every channel. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware for higher-production events (YouTube encoder setup; YouTube live stream settings).
Send the scheduled event’s signal
- Open the scheduled event in Live Control Room and copy its stream URL and stream key.
- In your encoder, paste the stream URL into the server or ingest URL field and the key into the stream-key field. Use the values for the scheduled event, rather than assuming an unrelated event or key will connect to it.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Someone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it, place it in public screenshots, or share it beyond trusted operators.
- Start the encoder early enough to check the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the picture and sound, then click Go live when the feed is ready.
For a recurring or round-the-clock channel, test the full chain before announcing it: source playback, encoder transmission, YouTube preview, and what viewers can see. YouTube’s tips also recommend testing the setup, checking that a local recording is growing, and confirming viewer access (YouTube live stream settings; YouTube live-stream tips).

Make the channel genuinely nonstop
A scheduled event is not a continuity system. If you use a computer and software encoder, the computer, software, source media, power, and internet connection all need to keep working. If you use dedicated hardware, it still needs power, a working network, and someone or something to detect and address a failure. A cloud playout service can move the ongoing transmission off a home computer and connection; compare options by who monitors them, how they recover after a failure, whether they support scheduled or prerecorded playback, what they cost, and how you will keep an independent recording.
- Decide who will monitor the feed and how they will know it has stopped.
- Write down how to restart the source or encoder and verify that the preview returns.
- For a critical channel, define an alternate source or operator and test the handoff rather than assuming recovery will happen automatically.
- Keep a local or otherwise independent recording if preserving the ceremony matters.
Plan for long streams, replay, and late arrivals
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a replay matters, keep a local archive rather than relying on YouTube’s automatic capture. YouTube also cautions that DVR pause and rewind may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours (YouTube live-stream archives; YouTube DVR).

For viewers who arrive late and for more dependable replays, consider ending the broadcast and scheduling shorter sessions instead of treating one event as an endless archive. The trade-off is that each new session needs an operator or system to start it and viewers may need to move to the new event. Keep an independent recording if you need a complete copy.
