Yes. You can run two different nature ambience livestreams on one YouTube channel at the same time, provided each has its own broadcast and incoming stream configuration and you stay within YouTube’s active-stream limits. Send each scene through the encoder output configured for its event, then check both previews before going live.
How YouTube represents simultaneous live streams
A broadcast is the viewer-facing event on your channel. A stream is the incoming audio-and-video feed sent by your encoder. YouTube’s API guidance distinguishes between sending one incoming feed to multiple simultaneous broadcasts and using separate incoming streams when broadcasts happen at the same time and need different streaming settings. Duplicating one feed does not create two different nature scenes.
YouTube currently documents a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. Both limits apply: separate keys do not remove the channel-wide limit. See YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation and YouTube Help’s active-stream limits.
Set up two distinct ambience broadcasts
- Create the first broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule the first event. Set its title, visibility, and other event details.
- Create the second broadcast. Create or schedule a separate event for the other ambience feed. Treat it as a separate viewer-facing video, not a duplicate broadcast of the first scene.
- Configure separate incoming streams. Set up a distinct YouTube incoming stream for each feed when the broadcasts will be simultaneous and have different content or settings. The API guide describes separate streams as appropriate for simultaneous broadcasts that cannot use the same streaming settings.
- Match each encoder output to its event. For each output, enter the YouTube Live server URL and the stream key for the corresponding event. Label the encoder outputs clearly so the forest feed, for example, cannot accidentally be sent to the ocean event.
- Check both previews. In Live Control Room, confirm that each event shows the intended video and audio before starting. YouTube recommends monitoring stream quality during the broadcast.
- Start the feeds and monitor them independently. Confirm both events are live, and keep an eye on each preview and its audio/video status. A healthy first feed does not establish that the second is connected correctly.

Choose an encoder setup without guessing at hardware
You can encode both feeds on one computer with two outputs or use separate encoding devices. YouTube’s published guidance does not establish a minimum CPU, GPU, or upload speed for two concurrent nature ambience encodes. Whether one machine can handle both depends on resolution, codec, encoder settings, and whether the two feeds are encoded separately on that machine. Test the intended configuration rather than relying on a universal hardware minimum.
For two distinct scenes, the encoder must supply two distinct feeds. One source sent to two events is a duplicate, not two different ambience streams. If encoding on one machine, verify that both outputs are configured and monitored separately; if using separate devices, ensure each device has the matching event’s server URL and key.

Protect monetization eligibility and content rights
Running two broadcasts is not, by itself, a guarantee of monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization policy says monetized work should be original and not mass-produced, generic, or repetitive. Following a policy update dated July 15, 2025, YouTube calls repetitive or mass-produced content “inauthentic content.” Reviewers may consider the channel overall, including its theme, newest and most-viewed videos, share of watch time, metadata, and About section. Two nearly interchangeable streams are not automatically eligible just because their titles or footage differ. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Reused-content review is separate from copyright: permission to use material does not, on its own, establish monetization eligibility. You also need the rights required for live and archived material, including music. Keep records of ownership and licenses for ambience recordings, images, and any music used. Common problems and fixes
- Both events show the same scene: The same incoming feed may be bound to both broadcasts. Configure and send a separate incoming stream for each genuinely different feed.
- The wrong scene appears on an event: Check the encoder output’s assigned server URL and stream key against the intended event, then confirm the correction in that event’s preview.
- An event does not receive a feed: Recheck that the corresponding encoder output is active and using the correct YouTube Live server URL and key. Verify its preview before starting or retrying the broadcast.
- One stream works but the other has poor or missing audio/video: Inspect and monitor each event independently. The two outputs may have different encoder settings or resource demands; the official guidance does not provide a universal computer requirement for this workload.
- You cannot start another stream: Check both limits: no more than 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key under YouTube’s documented limits.
- You expect monetization because you own or licensed the footage: Rights clearance and reused-content review are separate from originality and inauthentic-content assessment. Review the channel’s overall originality and policy compliance, not just the asset licenses.
