To loop Indian wedding venue tours on YouTube Live, use OBS Studio to send a prerecorded video or playlist to YouTube’s encoder stream. Add a local Media Source and turn on Loop for one video, or use OBS’s VLC Video source with Loop Playlist for several. Before going live, confirm you have rights to every video and audio track, test the stream, and add useful, verified venue context rather than repeating footage without added value.

What you need before you start

  • A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube says the channel must be verified, must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16 years old. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
  • A computer that can access the tour files and run OBS, plus a stable internet connection for the duration of the broadcast.
  • Venue-tour videos and audio you own or have permission to stream. This includes music, videographer footage, and any other third-party material in the clips.
  • OBS Studio. For a playlist using OBS’s VLC Video source, install VLC as well.

You do not need a camera, capture card, or hardware encoder simply to loop existing local video files. OBS can send the file playback as an encoder feed to YouTube.

Choose a single-video loop or a playlist

Option Setup Best fit
One video Add a Media Source in OBS and enable Loop. A single venue tour or a simple continuous presentation.
Several videos Add a VLC Video source, add the tour files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this source. A rotation of multiple venues that viewers can compare.

A playlist adds variety, but it also means checking rights and details for every clip. For either setup, keep the source files available on the computer for the whole broadcast.

Set up and start the YouTube Live loop in OBS

  1. Prepare the videos. Use files you can legally livestream, and make sure they play correctly on the computer running OBS. OBS documents common formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM; if a file does not load, try a supported format or verify that it plays locally.
  2. Create an OBS scene. In OBS, create or select a scene for the broadcast. Add a source using the + control in the Sources panel.
  3. Add a single video or a playlist. For one file, select Media Source, choose the local video, and enable Loop in its properties. For multiple files, select VLC Video Source, add the files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. If VLC Video Source is missing, install VLC and restart OBS.
  4. Make the picture and sound usable. Check the OBS preview for framing, legibility, and black bars or cropping. Play the scene and watch the audio meters; make sure narration or music is audible at a suitable level and is not distorted. If a clip has no audio, check its Media Source playback and audio settings.
  5. Create or select the YouTube live event. In YouTube Live Control Room, choose the encoder streaming route and use the connection details for the intended scheduled or active event. Keep the stream key private; it authorizes an encoder to send video to your channel.
  6. Connect OBS to YouTube. Enter the event’s stream connection details in OBS’s streaming settings, or use the connection method shown in YouTube and OBS for your setup. Start streaming from OBS and confirm that YouTube receives the feed and displays the expected preview.
  7. Test before the intended broadcast. Check video, audio, playlist transitions, and the YouTube preview with a short test. OBS recommends checking settings and testing before a first stream; do not assume that a successful local preview means YouTube is receiving the right event.
  8. Start the event and monitor it. Once the preview and audio are correct, start or manage the broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room as appropriate for the event. Check the stream periodically for playback, sound, and any copyright notices.

OBS control names can differ by version; its documentation on Media Sources describes the loop control, and its Quick Start Guide covers configuration and testing.

Make a venue loop useful to viewers

A repeated tour can help viewers compare spaces only if the information is clear and trustworthy. Add original narration or on-screen labels where useful: venue name, city, tour date, verified capacity, amenities, layout, or accessibility details. Include only details you have checked, and do not imply that copied footage is your own tour.

YouTube’s monetization policy distinguishes inauthentic content—repetitive or mass-produced material with little original value—from reused content, which repurposes material from YouTube or elsewhere without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. The policy applies to live streams; permission to use a clip does not by itself make it eligible for monetization. See YouTube channel monetization policies. The page notes that on July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified its wording by renaming “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content”; its reused-content policy did not change in that clarification.

Resolve copyright and live-stream risks

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party material, including another live broadcast. If it detects material that remains in the stream, YouTube may replace the image, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. This can happen even when you have a license: for Content ID-matched licensed material, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its allowlist. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

  • Confirm permission for the venue footage, videographer’s work, embedded music, separate soundtrack, and any other third-party content.
  • Keep records of permissions and any applicable license terms.
  • If a licensed clip triggers a match, contact the owner about allowlisting before using it in the live stream.
  • Do not treat copyright permission as a guarantee of monetization eligibility; monetization review is separate.

Troubleshoot common loop problems

  • The video plays once and stops: Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. For a playlist, enable Loop Playlist on the VLC Video source.
  • VLC Video Source is unavailable: Install VLC, then restart OBS. The source depends on VLC being installed.
  • YouTube receives no picture: Confirm OBS is streaming to the intended event and that YouTube Live Control Room shows an incoming encoder preview. Verify the scene is active and the video source is visible.
  • There is no sound or it is too loud: Play the scene in OBS, check the source and audio meters, and adjust the relevant audio level. Listen to a test rather than relying only on the meter.
  • A stream is interrupted or the image is replaced: Check YouTube Live Control Room for a copyright notice. Remove or replace matched material, or resolve rights and allowlisting with the rights holder before trying again.
  • The broadcast stops unexpectedly: Check that the computer remained on, the source files stayed accessible, OBS continued running, and the network connection remained available. A local OBS loop depends on the computer and connection for its duration.
