To loop a Hindi news clips playlist on YouTube Live, create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio and send it from OBS Studio. In OBS, add a VLC Video source, select the clips in the order you want, turn off shuffle, and enable Loop Playlist. Before broadcasting, confirm you have permission for the clips and that your channel is eligible to livestream.
Before you set up the loop
- Get permission for every clip. A clip being short, credited, widely shared, or already available on YouTube does not make it free to rebroadcast. Rights should cover the planned live use and any archive.
- Check channel eligibility early. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave it until broadcast time.
- Prepare the files and order. Put the videos you are authorized to use in one folder. Decide the sequence and check that both video and audio play correctly. The documented workflow does not prescribe a Hindi-specific file format or playlist length.
- Install OBS and VLC. OBS’s VLC Video source requires VLC to be installed. OBS documents these sources for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Its relevant documentation is dated January 11, 2022, so confirm the labels and controls in your installed version.
Create the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and select Go Live.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream in Live Control Room. YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key for the encoder connection.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and replace the saved key in OBS.
Build and loop the playlist in OBS
- In OBS, add a VLC Video source to the scene you plan to broadcast.
- Select the local clips in the intended order. Keep Shuffle off for a fixed sequence.
- Turn on Loop Playlist. OBS will restart the playlist when the final item ends.
- Check that the source shows the expected clip and that audio is audible. If the playlist contains multiple files, use VLC Video rather than treating the set as a single media file.
For a single standalone video, OBS’s Media Source has a Loop option. That is the simpler choice when there is only one file; it is not the documented multi-file playlist control.
Connect OBS and go live
- In OBS’s stream settings, enter the stream URL and stream key shown in YouTube’s Live Control Room.
- Start OBS’s output and wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room.
- Check the picture and audio in the preview before starting the public broadcast. A test live stream is useful for getting comfortable with the steps and catching setup problems.
- Once the preview is correct, start the event in YouTube Studio. Check playback from the channel and watch pages, including on a mobile device, and monitor the stream while it runs.
- When finished, end the event in YouTube Studio and stop the encoder in OBS. YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; verify the current archive behavior and settings in Studio before relying on that for a particular broadcast.
Rights, interruptions, and monetization
Copyright checks can interrupt a live feed
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If it detects material that infringes rights, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, issue a warning, interrupt the feed, or terminate it. Archived live streams may also receive Content ID claims after the event.
If a rights holder has licensed the material for your stream, ask the owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube says a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted. Obtain rights for the live broadcast and archive you intend to make; permission for some other use may not cover either.

Permission does not guarantee monetization
Copyright clearance and YouTube Partner Program monetization eligibility are separate questions. YouTube’s monetization policy applies to livestreams and can make repetitive or mass-produced content ineligible. Its reused-content policy considers whether the channel adds significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. A bare loop of other publishers’ news clips should not be assumed to qualify for monetization, even if you have permission to use them.
For an editorial news stream, build in original reporting, explanation, context, or analysis rather than presenting clips without meaningful additions. YouTube makes the eligibility decision. Its policy page records a July 15, 2025 clarification that renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and clarified the policy’s application to repetitive or mass-produced content; it says the reused-content policy did not change.

Common problems and fixes
- No incoming preview in Live Control Room: confirm OBS is sending output and that its stream URL and key match the current YouTube stream. If the key was reset or replaced, update OBS with the new one.
- The playlist stops at the final clip: open the VLC Video source settings and enable Loop Playlist. Check that you added the clips as a playlist rather than as separate unrelated sources.
- Clips play in an unexpected order: turn off Shuffle and review the order selected in the VLC Video source.
- The VLC Video source is unavailable or does not play files: install VLC, which OBS requires for this source, then reopen or reconfigure the source.
- There is video but no sound, or the wrong sound: test playback in OBS before going live, check that each file’s audio plays, and verify the selected scene and source in the preview.
- YouTube interrupts the stream after it starts: check Live Control Room for a warning or restriction. A third-party match may require rights clearance or channel allowlisting; do not assume restarting OBS resolves a rights issue.
- The channel cannot start a live stream yet: verify the channel, check for restrictions within the preceding 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time live activation.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud continues the loop without a computer or home internet connection staying on, and it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. Your video streams as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality-based tiers.
The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. The same product is included on every plan; the billing length changes. India-based creators can pay by UPI or card; card checkout is available worldwide. See StreamNeo for details, then start the free day.
