Send the output to the current RTMPS address and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. The command only keeps sending while your computer, FFmpeg process, and internet connection stay available; it is not an uptime guarantee.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel verified for live streaming and without live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
- FFmpeg installed on a machine that can remain on and connected for the intended duration.
- The devotional video files and permission to stream each recording and visual element.
- A stable upload connection with enough sustained capacity for the output bitrate, plus room for other network activity.
Check each file’s video and audio streams, resolution, frame rate, codecs, and duration before building the command. FFmpeg’s documentation describes the input-loop option and concat demuxer behavior; differing stream layouts, codecs, time bases, or inaccurate durations can cause concat problems. Choose between looping one video and playing a playlist
Loop one file indefinitely
Place -stream_loop -1 before that file’s -i input option. The value -1 means loop indefinitely. This repeats one file; it does not create a sequence from multiple files.

Play several files in sequence
Create a text file named, for example, playlist.txt in the concat demuxer format. Use paths appropriate to your operating system and quote paths that contain spaces.

ffmpeg -stream_loop -1 -f concat -safe 0 -i "playlist.txt" [OUTPUT_OPTIONS] "YOUR_YOUTUBE_RTMPS_DESTINATION"The concat demuxer expects compatible streams, codecs, and time bases. If your Gujarati devotional clips differ in resolution, frame rate, codec, or audio arrangement, do not assume they can be concatenated with stream copy. Normalize them to a common format first or use a transcoding pipeline that produces consistent output. Confirm paths and playlist order before going live.
Set up the YouTube live stream and protect its key
- In YouTube Studio, open the live-stream workflow, then create or schedule a stream. YouTube’s encoder instructions are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- In Live Control Room, copy the current stream URL and stream key for that event. Treat the key as a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Use RTMPS when supported. YouTube explains encrypted ingestion at Encrypt your stream using RTMPS.
- Insert the current destination and key into your FFmpeg output configuration. Keep credentials out of public scripts and screenshots. If a key is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before continuing.
- Start FFmpeg and check the Live Control Room preview and stream-health information before relying on the feed. Confirm that video and audio are present and that the event is receiving the expected encoder output.
YouTube’s Live Control Room labels and options may change; use the current values shown for your stream rather than reusing an old URL or key.

Choose encoding settings that fit the source and connection
YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); frame rates up to 60 fps; and a recommended keyframe interval of two seconds, not exceeding four seconds. Available codec choices depend on your FFmpeg build and YouTube’s current ingestion support. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

These are YouTube ingestion recommendations, not a promise that a given source or internet connection will sustain them. Choose a resolution and bitrate suited to the original footage and test against the connection’s stable upload capacity. A high-bitrate setting cannot restore detail absent from the source, and an unstable connection can interrupt delivery.

- Use CBR for the live output, as YouTube recommends.
- Set keyframes about every two seconds and no more than four seconds apart.
- Use an audio codec and video codec accepted by the current YouTube encoder guidance.
- Do not copy settings blindly from a different resolution, frame rate, FFmpeg build, or source file.
Start, preview, and monitor the 24/7 stream
- Test the full playlist locally first, including transitions, audio levels, and the point where it loops back to the beginning.
- Start the YouTube event and launch FFmpeg with the selected input and output settings.
- Wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room; inspect the preview and stream-health indicators before making the event public or relying on it.
- Monitor the FFmpeg process, machine, network connection, audio, and video. A running command alone does not prove that viewers are receiving a healthy stream.
- If using a backup encoder or failover setup, configure and test it in advance. YouTube recommends preparation, preview checks, testing, and ongoing monitoring in its live-streaming tips.
A local FFmpeg process depends on the host computer, power, operating system, process health, and network remaining operational. A VPS or dedicated server is one possible way to keep an encoder process online, but it still requires suitable configuration, a stable service, and monitoring; it does not remove the need to test the YouTube feed.

Check rights for the exact material
Religious or devotional subject matter does not automatically clear a recording for livestreaming. Confirm you have the necessary rights for the specific bhajan or other Gujarati devotional recording, backing track, artwork, and footage. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions address rights for live content, including applicable music licensing rights. Permission for a composition does not necessarily cover a particular commercial recording or video.

Do not assume one 24-hour broadcast becomes a complete replay
YouTube’s encoder setup guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; it does not promise a complete archive for a single stream longer than 12 hours. If you need a replay, consider ending and restarting scheduled sessions before the 12-hour limit, and verify current archive behavior in Live Control Room.
Troubleshooting FFmpeg and YouTube Live
