You can broadcast recorded church testimonies continuously on YouTube by sending a looping playlist through an encoder or cloud streaming service. Before going live, confirm the channel is eligible, obtain permission and clear rights for every recording, configure the stream in YouTube Studio, test the feed, and arrange a separate archive: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
What you need for a continuous testimony stream
A YouTube Live broadcast is not the same thing as uploading a playlist of regular videos. For a continuous live feed, an encoder or streaming service must play the recorded material and send the live output to YouTube. The encoder can run on a computer or other local setup; a cloud service can handle playback remotely.
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream.
- Testimony recordings approved for the intended broadcast, with rights cleared for all included audio and video.
- An encoder or service capable of looping the recordings and sending a continuous feed.
- A stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio.
- A monitoring and recovery plan, plus a separate archive plan.
YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for continuous prerecorded streams in its encoder setup guidance. That listing establishes relevance to this use case; it does not establish price, reliability, support, or superiority to other approaches.
Check channel eligibility and prepare the recordings
Confirm livestream access
YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. If livestreaming is being enabled for the first time, activation may take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s encoder instructions. Complete this check well before a scheduled launch.

Review consent, privacy, and rights
Before assembling a loop, confirm that each person featured has agreed to the intended public broadcast and any separate recording or replay plan. Review the files for names, contact details, minors or other vulnerable people, medical or financial details, and other identifying information that should not be exposed. Consent and privacy obligations depend on local law and the circumstances; this editorial review is not a substitute for jurisdiction-specific advice.
Check the rights for both picture and sound, including background music, introductions, and material embedded in a testimony. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for having necessary rights on content providers. Its copyright guidance says live streams are scanned for third-party matches. A match can cause a placeholder to replace the feed, or the stream to be interrupted or terminated. Even licensed material may require the rights holder to allowlist the channel in Content ID.

Keep the original approved files and a record of which recordings have permission for which uses. Choose YouTube’s public, unlisted, or private visibility deliberately; those settings affect who can access the stream but do not replace permission or rights clearance.
Choose how to keep the playlist running
For a do-it-yourself setup, use a software or hardware encoder that can play the approved files in sequence or loop them, then send its output to YouTube Live. Decide in advance who can update the playlist, who controls the stream key, how the feed will be monitored, and what someone should do after power or internet loss.

Compare local and cloud approaches on whether church equipment and internet must remain on, how playback resumes after an interruption, how staff change the playlist, whether local recordings are possible, what monitoring and support are available, and total cost. YouTube’s Gyre listing does not answer those questions for any specific service.
Create the YouTube live stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and enter Live Control Room. Create or schedule an encoder stream, following the prompts for the broadcast.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. Paste them into the encoder’s streaming or destination settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Reset it if it is compromised.
- Select a secure ingestion option where supported. Use RTMPS if your encoder supports it and the endpoint is configured correctly. Google describes RTMPS as RTMP tunneled through SSL; see its RTMPS ingestion documentation.
- Start the encoder output and check YouTube’s preview. Confirm that the expected video and audio appear before directing viewers to the public stream. Follow the stream’s visibility settings and scheduled start workflow in Live Control Room.
Set stream quality and test before launch
YouTube’s encoder settings guidance specifies RTMP or RTMPS, supports H.264, and recommends constant bitrate (CBR) encoding. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds.

| Output setting | YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 240p–720p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps | Recommendation for this resolution and frame-rate range. |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps | Recommendation for this resolution and frame rate. |
These are recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular church connection or encoder will sustain the feed. Choose a setting the actual upload connection can carry steadily. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend upload bandwidth headroom of 20% above the total stream bitrate. Test with representative footage and audio, then monitor stream health and check that the sound is intelligible and the picture is stable.
Test the whole loop and the recovery process, not just the first minute. Confirm how staff will notice an interruption and restore playback after an encoder, power, or network failure. YouTube recommends testing the stream and monitoring its health; recovery behavior depends on the encoder or service you choose.

Plan the archive separately from the live feed
Do not rely on the YouTube live watch page as the archive of record for a 24/7 broadcast. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all; see Archive live streams. Keep source files and, if you need a record of the broadcast, make local recordings or other independent backups.
If having YouTube replays matters, consider breaking the broadcast into shorter sessions and plan how to restart them. A separate local recording is still useful. Choose storage based on the size and format of the recordings, how long they must be retained, and equipment already available; YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe a drive capacity or model.
Troubleshoot common failures
- Live Control Room will not let you start: Check channel verification and whether a live-stream restriction occurred in the preceding 90 days. If livestreaming was only just enabled, first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- No preview appears: Check that the encoder is sending to the stream URL shown in Live Control Room and that the matching stream key is entered correctly. Confirm the encoder output is running and review its connection status.
- Feed disconnects or becomes unstable: Check the upload connection and whether the selected bitrate is sustainable. Reduce output quality if needed and retain the recommended upload headroom. Test what happens when the connection drops and who will restart the feed.
- Audio or video is missing or wrong: Inspect the encoder’s selected playlist and output, then test the complete path in YouTube preview. Check representative sections of each recording, including transitions between files.
- A copyright warning interrupts the broadcast: Identify the matched material and resolve the rights issue before restarting. If a work is licensed, ask the rights holder whether the channel must be allowlisted in Content ID.
- The live broadcast has no replay: A session exceeding 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. Use a separate recording and backup, or structure sessions below that threshold if YouTube replays are required.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the testimony recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on.
It streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality-based tiers. The service includes 24/7 looping and playlists, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, once per account. You can choose a day, week, month, six months, or year and cancel any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support. Details are at StreamNeo.
