You can run a prerecorded fireplace video as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast from a Windows PC by enabling live streaming on your channel, connecting an encoder such as OBS to a stream created in YouTube Studio, and keeping the PC, source file, and internet connection operating. What a 24/7 fireplace stream requires
A continuous ambience broadcast is a YouTube Live stream carrying a prerecorded video and audio track. In the Windows-PC method, the encoder runs on your computer and sends the feed to YouTube. The stream therefore depends on the computer staying on, the encoder continuing to play the source, and an internet connection that can sustain the feed. It is not the same as uploading a fireplace video as a regular YouTube video.
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming.
- A Windows PC with an encoder and a locally accessible fireplace video.
- A stable upload connection tested with your actual setup.
- Video and audio that you own or are licensed and otherwise cleared to use in a livestream.
YouTube’s reviewed setup guidance does not establish a recommended India-specific bitrate, minimum PC specification, or power-backup capacity. Choose settings only after checking YouTube’s current encoder guidance and testing your own connection and machine.
Prepare the channel and fireplace video
Enable live streaming ahead of time
Verify the channel and check that it has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is the channel’s first encoder stream, allow up to 24 hours for live streaming to become enabled. Do not leave setup until the intended launch time.

Clear the video and every sound element
Use footage, music, crackling-fire audio, and any other material that you own or have permission to use for livestreaming. Keep records of licenses. YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content; a license does not necessarily prevent interruption if the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. If a rights owner operates Content ID, ask them to allowlist your channel where applicable.
During a live broadcast, YouTube may replace the feed with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt or terminate the stream. It can also assess an archived stream for a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends. Resolve rights questions before going live rather than relying on a later dispute.

Choose and test an encoder
YouTube lists OBS as open-source software available at no charge, and also lists Windows options including PRISM Live Studio, Streamlabs, Wirecast, and XSplit. Their features and availability can change, so check the product’s current Windows support and setup instructions. This guide uses the YouTube Studio encoder workflow; exact encoder menus vary by app and version.
Create the YouTube Live stream and connect Windows
- Create the stream: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create a stream or schedule one. Scheduling creates a watch page that you can promote and allows viewers to receive reminders.
- Copy the connection details: Open the stream settings and copy the YouTube server URL and stream key.
- Configure the encoder: In the encoder’s YouTube or RTMP stream settings, enter the server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: someone who has it could send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it or include it in a recording or screenshot.
- Load and test the source: Select the fireplace video and confirm that both picture and audio play continuously in the encoder. Keep the source file in a stable local location so the encoder does not lose it.
- Start the encoder feed: Start streaming from the encoder, then check the preview and status in YouTube Live Control Room. Confirm the incoming picture and sound before choosing the control to go live.
- Monitor the live session: Check stream health and copyright notices in YouTube Studio. Test the entire chain before promoting a long broadcast or relying on it unattended.
Choose stream quality and plan for 24/7 operation
There is no defensible universal bitrate or resolution for every Windows PC and Indian connection. The required upload capacity depends on the output resolution, frame rate, encoder settings, and connection stability. Consult YouTube’s current encoder-settings guidance, then test at the quality you intend to use. Do not assume a connection is suitable based only on its advertised download speed; the live feed must be uploaded continuously.

A 24/7 broadcast can stop if Windows restarts, the PC loses power, the encoder closes, the source file becomes unavailable, or the connection fails. Before launch, decide how you will notice a failure and restart the encoder and stream after a disruption. A UPS may help through brief power interruptions, but it is optional rather than a YouTube requirement; size it for the PC and networking equipment. No particular UPS capacity or runtime is established here.
Plan for Windows updates and restarts rather than assuming the machine will run indefinitely without intervention. A test broadcast can reveal whether the source loops as expected, the audio remains present, the connection holds, and you can recover after stopping and restarting the encoder. India-specific ISP, outage, or power-performance figures are not established, so your own location and connection are the relevant test conditions.

Understand YouTube archives and monetization limits
YouTube says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That establishes the automatic-archive rule for streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee that a single 24-hour broadcast will be preserved as one complete replay. If a replay matters, verify current Live Control Room behavior and consider shorter broadcast segments or a separate recording workflow.
YouTube says creators in the YouTube Partner Program can monetize live streams, subject to channel eligibility and policy compliance. Its channel monetization policy also applies to live content and considers repetitive or reused material. A continuously looping fireplace video is not guaranteed to qualify for monetization or produce qualifying watch time simply because viewers can leave it playing.

Troubleshoot common failures
- You cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification, live-stream eligibility, and whether a restriction occurred in the previous 90 days. For a first encoder stream, feature activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube receives no feed: Recheck the server URL and stream key in both YouTube Studio and the encoder, then confirm the encoder is actually sending. If the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The preview is black or silent: Confirm the encoder is using the intended local file and that the file plays with both picture and sound. Check the encoder’s source and audio routing.
- The stream drops or becomes unstable: Check the connection and encoder status, then restart the feed and confirm it returns in Live Control Room. Review the planned recovery process for PC restart, power loss, or source-file interruption.
- You receive a copyright warning or interruption: Stop using uncleared material. Review the notice, verify that all elements are licensed for live use, and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting if relevant.
- The full day’s replay is unavailable: The stated automatic-archive rule covers streams under 12 hours; it does not establish a complete replay for a stream longer than that. Check current Studio behavior and adjust broadcast or recording plans.
