You can run a Telugu radio-style channel on YouTube by sending a continuous live video-and-audio feed from an encoder, with prerecorded shows, music, station IDs and transitions arranged into a program. YouTube provides the live-stream destination, not radio automation or guaranteed uninterrupted uptime: you must plan the playlist, clear the rights, monitor the feed and keep a local recording if the archive matters.
Plan the program and clear the rights
Start with a timed running order rather than a pile of files. Arrange shows, music, station IDs and transitions so the feed has a deliberate sequence. For an audio-led station, include a stable visual—such as a station identity or program artwork—that accurately represents what listeners are hearing.
Track each asset’s source and rights status. For songs, recordings, clips, images and other third-party material, determine whether you have the rights needed for YouTube distribution and the territories you intend to serve. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can lead to a replacement image, interruption or termination. If you have a license, ask the rights holder whether your channel also needs to be allowlisted in Content ID. A license by itself may not prevent an automated interruption. Telugu-language material does not remove the need to check rights. Requirements can depend on the material, rights holder and territory; do not assume that a song is cleared simply because it is widely available online or because the stream is noncommercial.

Enable YouTube Live and create the broadcast
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. See Get started with live streaming for current prerequisites.
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Go Live. Create or schedule a stream for an encoder workflow. Give it a title and description that match the actual Telugu programming, set the appropriate language and audience details, and use a relevant thumbnail. A scheduled stream can appear as upcoming, allowing viewers to opt in to notifications. See Manage live stream settings.
- Choose an encoder workflow. Use software or dedicated hardware capable of playing your prepared program and sending a live feed. YouTube documents encoder streaming and external audio/video hardware, but does not endorse a particular product. Compare playlist and scheduling support, audio handling, restart behavior, stream-health visibility and local recording options against your station’s needs. - Copy the connection details into the encoder. In Live Control Room, get the stream URL and stream key, then enter them in the encoder’s connection settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio before resuming.
Start the feed and supervise it
- Start playback of the scheduled program in the encoder and begin streaming.
- Check Live Control Room for the incoming preview and stream status; start the broadcast there if prompted.
- Monitor audio levels, playlist progression and stream health. Assign an operator or monitoring process to respond to a failed source, encoder or network connection; YouTube does not promise that a feed will remain uninterrupted.
- For the error guidance covering the documented encoder configuration, YouTube calls for H.264 video and AAC audio. Confirm your encoder supports your chosen output rather than assuming one preset suits every workflow. See Live streaming error messages.
This is a live video feed, not an audio-only radio stream supplied by YouTube. Keep the visual presentation stable and truthful to the program; unrelated footage can confuse viewers about what is being broadcast.
Choose between one continuous stream and shorter broadcasts
YouTube’s API distinguishes the incoming stream from the viewer-facing broadcast. Its documentation describes a 24/7 broadcast and an arrangement in which another broadcast can share the ongoing feed. This is an API-level model, not a guarantee that every channel’s Studio interface offers identical controls. The API documentation says one stream can be bound to up to three live broadcasts. There is no universally best choice: the right arrangement depends on whether archives, seamless listening, staffing or program-level recording matters most.
Protect the archive and listener rewind
YouTube says a live stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local recording as backup. That makes a separate recording essential if you need to preserve a 24/7 program; do not rely on the YouTube replay as your master copy. Read Archive live streams and rehearse any shorter-session restart so you know how it affects listeners.

Viewer DVR—pausing and rewinding during a live broadcast—may also be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Do not promise listeners indefinite rewind on a continuous channel. See Turn on DVR on live streams.
Monetization is not automatic
YouTube describes ads and Super Chat as live-stream monetization features, with memberships available to some channels. These options depend on channel eligibility and do not guarantee approval or earnings. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material falls under its “inauthentic content” policy; it said this kind of content was already ineligible under existing monetization policies. A channel that simply loops prerecorded material should not assume it qualifies. Build original, meaningful programming and check your current eligibility and policy in YouTube Studio.
