To rotate showroom tours, product demonstrations, and offer clips in a YouTube Live broadcast, arrange the videos in a playout tool such as OBS, send that tool’s feed to YouTube with a stream key, then preview and monitor the broadcast in YouTube Studio. The rotation happens in the encoder or playout service—not in a YouTube playlist setting.
Choose how the videos will play
The right setup depends on whether someone can supervise the broadcast and whether you need overlays, camera cuts, or unattended playback. These are workflow-based comparisons, not hands-on equipment tests.

For a shop that wants direct control and already has a suitable computer, the OBS method below is a practical starting point. If the broadcast must run unattended, consider whether the computer and connection can reliably stay on—or use a cloud option.
Prepare the showroom rotation
- Set the sequence. Put the showroom tour, product demonstrations, and offer clips in the intended order. Decide whether the sequence should repeat and check that transitions make sense when it restarts.
- Clear the rights. Use video and music the shop owns or is permitted to broadcast. Confirm that permission covers both the live stream and its replay. YouTube’s live-stream production guidance says necessary content clearances are required for the live stream and on-demand video.
- Check the installed setup. OBS menu details and available integrations can vary with the installed OBS and VLC setup. Confirm that the files play correctly in your chosen sources before scheduling the event.
Set up the rotation in OBS
OBS sends a live encoder feed to YouTube. For a single clip that should repeat, a vendor guide describes adding an OBS Media Source and enabling its loop option. For a sequence of multiple files, the guide describes using a VLC Video Source where that integration is available. These are vendor instructions, so check the controls and compatibility in your installed software.

- Open OBS and create or select the scene you will use for the broadcast.
- Add the showroom video source: use a Media Source for a looping single video, or a VLC Video Source for multiple files if available in your setup.
- For a multi-file source, add the files in the order you want them to play. Confirm whether the source’s playlist controls are set to repeat the sequence as required.
- Check the preview for picture, audio, and transitions. Play through the sequence, including its restart point, before going live.
If your OBS/VLC installation does not provide the multi-file source you need, do not assume YouTube can create the rotation for you: the ordered playback must come from your playout system. Check the current OBS and VLC integration documentation for your installation or choose another playout route.
Create the YouTube Live event and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a broadcast or schedule it for later. Scheduling lets you promote the event and share its URL.
- In the broadcast’s stream settings, obtain the YouTube server URL and stream key. In OBS, open the stream settings and enter the server URL and key for this broadcast. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains this connection.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast; do not put it in a public post or share it with people who do not need it.
- If this is the channel’s first live stream, allow for YouTube’s activation window: YouTube says first-time live streaming activation may take up to 24 hours. This is not a guaranteed setup duration.
Preview, go live, and monitor the rotation
- Start the OBS stream and check Live Control Room to confirm YouTube is receiving the expected picture and audio.
- For a scheduled event, check whether it is set to start automatically. OBS documents separate auto-start and manual Go Live behavior for scheduled streams; if it is not configured to start automatically, use the Go Live action in Live Control Room when you are ready.
- Watch at least one full rotation. Check each clip change, audio level, and the restart point, and keep the stream-health view open while the broadcast runs.
- For a local OBS broadcast, keep the computer powered, the internet connection available, and a backup clip ready. A failure in any of these can interrupt the feed.
End the broadcast and keep the replay
Stop the encoder and end the event in YouTube Studio as appropriate. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If the replay matters to your shop, confirm it appears in the channel after the event and review it for any rights or playback issues.
