Disney+ lets you remove individual movies and shows from the Continue Watching row. The change hides a title from that row; it does not delete your playback progress or remove the title from Disney+. The feature was announced on March 24, 2025, and Disney says it is not available on every supported mobile or TV-connected device. Disney’s announcement and Help Center guidance explain the limits.
Remove a title from Continue Watching
The steps depend on the device. Disney’s Help Center gives these instructions, though button names and gestures can differ slightly between app versions and platforms.

On a computer or web browser
- Go to DisneyPlus.com and sign in.
- Find the title in the Continue Watching row on the homepage.
- Hover over its card and select the Remove icon, usually near the upper-right corner.
- Select Remove in the confirmation prompt.
On a phone or tablet
- Open the Disney+ app and find the title in Continue Watching.
- Tap the three-dot menu beside the title.
- Tap Remove, then confirm by tapping Remove again.
If the menu or Remove option is missing, the feature may not be available in that version of the mobile app or on that device. Try Disney+ in a browser or on another supported device.

On a smart TV or streaming device
From the homepage, highlight the title in Continue Watching, long-press it with the remote, and select Remove. On some devices, you can instead open the title’s Details page, select the Remove icon on the right, and confirm.

Remote controls and app interfaces vary, so a long press may not behave the same way on every TV, streaming box, or game console. If you cannot find the control on the row, try the Details page or use a browser. Disney’s removal instructions cover web, mobile, and TV-connected devices.
What removal changes—and what it does not
Think of Continue Watching as a set of shortcuts, not a watch-history editor. Disney says removing a title takes it out of the row but does not delete the viewing progress associated with it.

Removing a title from Continue Watching does not delete it from Disney+ or cancel your access to it. If you open it again later, Disney+ may still have the previous playback position. The precise experience can depend on syncing, the profile in use, and whether playback was completed.

Continue Watching collects unfinished or recently started content. The Watchlist is a separate collection of titles you chose to save. If a title is in the Watchlist, remove it there instead: open its title page and use the checkmark control. Disney’s Watchlist guidance explains that list separately.

Disney has confirmed individual removal from Continue Watching, not a full editor. The available instructions do not establish a way to reorder titles, select several for bulk removal, clear the entire row, or erase all viewing history through this control. Watchlist management is separate, and Disney says Watchlist titles cannot currently be grouped or reordered.
Limits and troubleshooting
- Some devices lack the option. Disney warns that removal is not available on every supported mobile or TV-connected device. Try the website or another supported device before assuming your account is malfunctioning.
- Live events are excluded. Disney’s instructions say live events cannot be removed using this feature.
- The title appears again. Check that you are viewing the intended profile and that playback has not resumed, including in another episode. A device may also need time to sync. These are possibilities to check, not guaranteed causes.
- The control is missing everywhere. Try the title’s Details page, update the Disney+ app and device software, sign out and back in, then restart the app or device. If it remains unavailable across devices, contact Disney+ support.
If other people use the same profile, separate profiles can help prevent one person’s viewing from cluttering another person’s row. Removing a title cleans up the display, but it does not reset the profile’s viewing data.

Why this is not a new 2026 feature
Disney announced the Continue Watching removal option as a global update on March 24, 2025. It is useful if a title was started accidentally, abandoned, or watched by someone else on the same profile. The rollout was described as global, but device availability still varies. The feature is also distinct from Disney’s separately described app redesign; a different-looking navigation menu does not mean Continue Watching has become a full list editor.
