To keep videos playing one after another, create or save them to a YouTube playlist, open that playlist, and turn on Autoplay on the device you’ll use. This is for continuous viewing, not a public livestream. Autoplay can stop after inactivity, so it is not a reliable way to keep a channel broadcasting unattended. If you want prerecorded videos to appear as a continuous live event, you need a separate YouTube Live workflow.
First decide what “continuous streaming” means
- Continuous viewing: You or another viewer watches a playlist, with YouTube Autoplay advancing playback. This is the simplest option when you want a queue of videos.
- A continuous livestream: You broadcast prerecorded video to viewers as a live event. That is a creator workflow using YouTube Live and an encoder, not a playlist setting. YouTube’s guidance covers Live setup and stream settings but does not provide a complete official procedure for turning a playlist directly into a continuous encoder broadcast.
India is not a separate playlist setup case in the instructions below. YouTube’s country-specific statement in the reviewed guidance is narrower: it lists India for eligible creators livestreaming mobile Playables, not as a general availability rule for every Live feature.
Prepare a playlist for continuous viewing
- Add the videos. In YouTube, save a video to a new playlist or add it to an existing one. Give the playlist a name that makes its purpose and order clear. YouTube’s playlist instructions: Create and manage playlists.
- Set visibility for the people who need to watch. Keep the playlist private for personal access, or choose a shareable visibility setting if other people should be able to open it. YouTube says private playlists are viewable only by their owner; its playlist guidance also explains copying the playlist page URL to share.
- Check access to each video. Playlist visibility does not override a video’s own access settings. Private videos require the uploader to share access with viewers. If you embed a playlist elsewhere, it can omit videos whose uploaders have disabled embedding.
- Open the playlist and enable Autoplay. Start playback from the playlist page and switch on Autoplay in the player. The control is on the watch player; its position and behavior can vary across desktop, mobile, TV, and casting.
- Test the actual device and connection. Let the playlist advance to another video before relying on it. YouTube says mobile-network Autoplay stops after 30 minutes of inactivity and Wi-Fi Autoplay stops after four hours. Scrolling past the player or interacting with the page can also prevent the next video from starting. These are platform behavior limits, not a guarantee that playback will always continue for the stated duration.
Autoplay advances to a related next video; it should not be treated as a guarantee of an exact, endless sequence. For an ordered queue, make sure the videos are in the intended playlist order and test the playback path viewers will use.
If you mean a true YouTube Live broadcast
Confirm channel eligibility
YouTube says a channel needs to be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to live stream. YouTube’s general Live guidance also states a minimum streamer age of 16. See Get started with live streaming.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Mobile streaming has additional eligibility conditions: at least 50 subscribers, a verified channel, no live restriction in the past 90 days, and Live enabled. First-time mobile enablement can take up to 24 hours. YouTube lists India among countries where eligible creators may livestream mobile Playables; this country note applies to that feature, not necessarily to every Live option. See Create a mobile live stream.
Use an encoder as a separate broadcast setup
YouTube supports live streaming by mobile, webcam, encoder, or console. For prerecorded-video broadcasting, an encoder is the relevant category, but the official guidance cited here does not establish a complete playlist-to-encoder recipe. You will need to configure your chosen encoder and YouTube Live event rather than assume the viewer playlist itself becomes a broadcast.

- Set up the Live event and encoder in advance, then test the stream before the intended broadcast.
- Use the stream URL and stream key in the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: do not share or publish it.
- Check the Live Control Room preview, verify that the event page opens on both mobile and desktop, and monitor picture and audio while live. YouTube notes that expensive equipment is not required to get started; the software or hardware depends on the production format. See Create a live stream with an encoder.
- Stop the encoder after the YouTube event ends. YouTube says broadcasts are uploaded as archives by default; archives and highlight clips can then be organized into playlists. An archive playlist is useful after the event, but it does not turn the playlist into a live broadcast. See Manage your live stream archives.
Know what DVR does on a long stream
YouTube’s DVR setting lets viewers pause, resume, or seek backward during a live stream, but viewers cannot seek to before the broadcast began. DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours, so do not promise viewers unlimited rewind on an all-day loop. See Set up your live stream.
Common problems and fixes
- The next video does not start: Check that Autoplay is enabled on the device currently playing the playlist. Scroll back to the player if you moved past it, and test without interacting with the page.
- Someone cannot open the playlist: Review playlist visibility and share the playlist page URL. Then check each video’s privacy and access separately; a shareable playlist cannot make a private video public.
- A video is missing in an embedded playlist: The uploader may have disabled embedding. Open the playlist on YouTube and confirm the video is available to the intended audience.
- Playback stops while unattended: Autoplay has inactivity cutoffs: 30 minutes on mobile networks and four hours on Wi-Fi, according to YouTube. Test the intended device and network; do not plan on viewer-side Autoplay as an unattended broadcast system.
- The encoder does not appear in the Live preview: Recheck the encoder’s stream URL and key, confirm the event is configured, and inspect the Live Control Room preview before directing viewers to it. Keep the stream key private.
- Viewers cannot rewind far enough: DVR is not unlimited, particularly on streams longer than 12 hours, and no viewer can seek to before the live broadcast began.

Copyright and channel-policy checks
Before adding videos to a public playlist or broadcasting them, make sure you have the rights and permissions needed for the video and its audio. A playlist does not grant permission to reuse someone else’s work, and a livestream can still be affected by copyright enforcement. Review YouTube’s applicable rules and check each upload’s access before sharing or scheduling a stream. For creator channels, also consider whether the content meets YouTube’s monetization and reused-content policies; eligibility and enforcement depend on YouTube’s current rules and the channel’s material.
