Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo play prerecorded church worship videos in a set order on YouTube Live, use an encoder playlist rather than relying on YouTube’s event scheduler to sequence files. In OBS Studio, add the files to a VLC Video source in the intended order, keep shuffle off, and set looping to match the service plan. Then schedule a YouTube event, connect OBS with that event’s stream URL and key, check the preview, and start the event in Live Control Room.
What you need for an ordered prerecorded stream
- A YouTube channel with access to schedule a live stream.
- A computer running OBS Studio and VLC. OBS requires VLC for its VLC Video source; if you use 64-bit OBS, OBS says you need 64-bit VLC.
- The worship videos and other media files arranged in the desired service order.
- A stable internet connection and the YouTube event’s stream URL and stream key.
Scheduling creates an upcoming YouTube event that can be shared and may let viewers set reminders. It does not, by itself, play local video files in sequence. The encoder sends the continuous video and audio feed; OBS’s playlist is what determines the playback order. See YouTube’s encoder guide and OBS’s Media Sources documentation.
Prepare the service rundown and files
Decide the sequence before opening OBS
Write down the actual order for this event, such as an opening title card, welcome, worship videos, announcements, sermon, and closing. This is a planning example, not a required church service format. Confirm that each file is the intended version and that its picture and audio play correctly. The right file format and encoding depend on your system; there is no single preset established for every church computer and network.
Check rights before scheduling
Confirm permission for every video and audio element, including recorded music, backing tracks, lyrics, and material provided by another ministry or producer. Uploading or scheduling a file does not establish that the church has the rights to stream it.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Build an ordered playlist in OBS Studio
- Install VLC and open OBS. Install a VLC version compatible with your OBS installation. OBS notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC for the VLC Video source to appear.
- Add the playlist source. In the Sources panel, select + and choose VLC Video. Add the media files for the service in the planned order. The exact labels or placement of controls can vary by version.
- Verify the order. Review the playlist from first item to last and move any file that is out of sequence. Do not assume alphabetical filenames match your service rundown.
- Turn shuffle off. OBS documents shuffle as off by default, which preserves the playlist order. Check the setting rather than relying on its default; with shuffle enabled, files can play in a randomized order.
- Set looping deliberately. OBS documents Loop Playlist as on by default. Turn it off for a one-pass service so the opening item does not start again after the final item. Leave it on only if repeating the full playlist is part of the plan.
- Review the output. Use the OBS preview and audio meters to check picture and sound. If you use title cards, transitions, or additional sources, confirm that the final program output shows the expected scene while the playlist advances.
OBS’s Quick Start Guide recommends testing the setup for a few minutes before the first stream. A successful preview in OBS alone does not confirm that YouTube is receiving the feed, so check both during rehearsal.
Schedule the YouTube Live event and connect OBS
- Schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room, go to the Manage tab, and schedule the stream. The event can then be shared in advance and viewers may be able to set a reminder.
- Get the event connection details. Open the scheduled event’s stream settings and copy its stream URL and stream key into the encoder configuration in OBS. Follow the controls shown in the current Studio interface, as interface details can change.
- Protect the stream key. YouTube describes stream keys as the information that tells the encoder where to send the feed and lets YouTube accept it. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in screenshots, public volunteer instructions, or an on-screen scene. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
- Start sending from OBS. Start the OBS stream so the encoder feed reaches the scheduled event. Check the YouTube Live Control Room preview and confirm that both picture and sound are arriving.
- Start the event in YouTube. Once the preview is ready and the service is ready to begin, select Go live in Live Control Room. Starting the encoder feed and starting the scheduled event are distinct actions in this workflow.

Rehearse and run the service
Pre-service checklist
- Play through the playlist in OBS and confirm the first and last items are correct.
- Confirm shuffle is off and looping matches the event plan.
- Check that the OBS preview shows the intended program and that audio meters respond during playback.
- Send a short test feed to the scheduled YouTube event and verify its preview before the service.
- Make sure the person starting the event can access Live Control Room without sharing the stream key publicly.
- Keep a copy of the rundown and a way to contact the person monitoring the stream.
End the event and check the archive
At the end, end the event in Live Control Room and stop sending the encoder feed from OBS, following YouTube’s current event controls. YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If the church depends on an archive, check the event and channel settings rather than assuming the recording is available exactly as needed.
Copyright and Content ID can interrupt a live stream
YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content, including another live broadcast. If it detects material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the creator to stop using the content; if the material remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a stream. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

If the church has licensed third-party content, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add the church channel to its Content ID allowlist. Without that allowlisting, a live stream may still be interrupted even if the church has a license or has limited territories to places where it holds necessary rights. This is platform guidance, not legal advice or a determination that a particular license covers a particular stream. Resolve rights and allowlisting questions with the relevant rights owner before the event.
